Chapter 571 It's better to offend a gentleman than a petty person

Even though Yan Jiaojiao was disdainful and unwilling, Kong Shen stood aside and spoke up, so even if she was unwilling a hundred or a thousand times, she had to speak up.

"Qianmo, I'm so sorry. It was my fault for not arranging things properly. I will definitely pay attention next time. I hope you can forgive me."

Su Peishan sneered: "Director Yan's current demeanor is completely different from his arrogant and domineering attitude just now. His acting skills are almost on par with professionals."

Yan Jiaojiao's face burned: "Sister Su, you've misunderstood me. There might have been a misunderstanding in our communication. I'm not good at speaking, so please forgive me if I offended you just now. I will definitely pay attention next time."

"That's the end of this matter, Director Kong. I'm ready and can start filming anytime."

"Alright, we'll start filming in ten minutes. You and Hongxun go over the script."

"OK!"

After Director Kong Shen left, Yan Jiaojiao glanced coldly at Su Peishan, her face immediately fell, she snorted, and turned to leave with Director Kong Shen.

"Look at her smug look. I heard that Yan Jiaojiao and Producer Liu are having an affair. No wonder she dares to be so arrogant on set. You shouldn't have let her go so easily just now."

Bai Qianmo glanced indifferently in the direction Yan Jiaojiao had left, then took out the script and began to read it.

"It's better to offend a gentleman than a petty person!"

"Bai Qianmo, come and rehearse the scene." Gu Hongxun walked over and spoke in a cold voice.

Bai Qianmo looked up at him and said, "Come on."

The two began rehearsing their lines, and Bai Qianmo had already memorized the script perfectly.

The story is set in a backward village where the female protagonist Wanqing and the male protagonist Zhiyuan are neighbors, but their family backgrounds are completely different.

Wanqing's father died early, and her mother was hated and slandered by the women in the village because she was too beautiful.

The male protagonist, Zhiyuan, has a father who is a township cadre, a mother who is the village committee's women's director, and a grandfather who is a retired village party secretary. So the whole family are government employees.

In such a backward place, the Zhiyuan family was definitely a scholarly family in the village.

Zhiyuan and Wanqing developed feelings for each other, and after school, Zhiyuan would often teach Wanqing to read and write.

Although Wanqing never went to school, she read a lot of books and learned many characters.

Another girl from the same village, Chunhua, liked Zhiyuan very much. Her family was of similar social standing to Zhiyuan's, and the two of them even attended the same high school.

Both families intend to let them develop naturally, and it would be even better if both of them could get into university.

But Zhiyuan only had Wanqing in his heart.

This weekend

Zhiyuan's father brought back two movie tickets from the town's screening room. In the early 1990s, screening rooms had become widespread in China.

Some people who had ventured out to big cities sensed a business opportunity and brought projectors back to their towns, causing quite a stir.

Upon receiving the movie ticket, Zhiyuan excitedly invited Wanqing to go see a movie together.

That day

At the entrance of the screening room, after watching the movie, Zhiyuan confessed his feelings to Wanqing.

As the two actors rehearsed their lines, Bai Qianmo's expression quickly revealed her deep affection.

Gu Hongxun had just finished reading his lines when he suddenly looked up and met Bai Qianmo's affectionate yet shy eyes, and his heart trembled violently.

"Zhiyuan, do you really like me? But I feel... I'm not good enough for you."

A sense of loneliness appeared on Bai Qianmo's face.

Gu Hongxun got stuck.

Bai Qianmo frowned slightly: "Have you memorized your lines?"

Gu Hongxun blinked nervously and coughed lightly to cover up his guilty conscience.

"Who said that? I remember it very well."

Bai Qianmo squinted at Gu Hongxun and said, "It had better be that way. I don't want to have to do several takes because of you."

Gu Hongxun scoffed: "You should worry about yourself."

Bai Qianmo smiled, but inwardly she sneered, "Kid, if you mess up later, see how I laugh at you."

"Qianmo, Hongxun, get ready, we can start filming."

Upon hearing Kong Shen's voice on the walkie-talkie, the two put down their scripts, and their assistant helped them with their styling.

Preparing to start filming

"Scene 1, First Action!"

The two actors quickly got into character.

Gu Hongxun and Bai Qianmo, who played the male and female leads, walked out of the cramped movie theater.

Zhiyuan blushed slightly and secretly glanced at Wanqing.

"Wanqing, was the movie good today?"

"Wow, it's so good! The movie is even in color! The movies shown in our village before were all grayscale." The girl played with her braided pigtails, her face beaming with excitement.

Seeing how happy she was, Zhiyuan also grinned happily.

"It's getting late, let's go home." Zhiyuan pushed his old bicycle over and started riding towards the village with Wanqing on the back.

This scene required filming a road scene, switching between long shots and close-ups, and it took more than an hour to finally reach the village.

When the two arrived at the village entrance, Zhiyuan suddenly stopped the car.

The girl, with her two braids in her hair, curiously turned her head to look at Zhiyuan.

"Zhiyuan, why did you suddenly stop?"

Zhiyuan chuckled sheepishly and scratched his temples a little shyly.

"Wanqing, it's still early, let's go sit by the river for a while."

Not far from the village entrance, there is a clear stream whose water flows down from the mountain and is very clear.

The two walked to the riverbank and sat down.

Wanqing lowered her head, sensing that Zhiyuan was acting a little differently today.
