The dimwitted boy's eyes darted around, and he bared his fangs at Bai Qianmo, looking utterly defiant.
But when she met Gu Jueye's gaze, she immediately lowered her head, breathing heavily, her face full of sorrow.
"It didn't seem to be here last time I came."
"I let it out to the farm to watch over the chickens a while ago," Gu Jueye replied casually.
I walked up to the dimwitted creature and kicked its front paw.
"If I ever see you pounce on someone again, I'll break that claw of yours." The voice was a chilling warning.
Awooo...
The dimwit hurriedly retracted its front paws under its chest, howling in pain.
The old man couldn't stand seeing a simpleton suffer injustice, so he rushed out as soon as he heard the sound.
"So what if I'm a bit slow?"
The simpleton rushed towards Old Qin, while his lackeys circled around him incessantly.
Where was the ferocious look in those pitiful, mournful eyes?
Bai Qianmo watched it act cool quietly, thinking to herself, "This dog really deserves a beating."
"Did you scare him again?" Old Qin questioned Gu Jueye.
"It almost bit Miss Bai. We only spared its leg because it's your pet. This dog is getting more and more outrageous."
"Awoo!" the dog howled defiantly.
Upon seeing its owner, it adopted a swaggering, arrogant attitude.
The implication of filing a complaint is obvious.
Old Qin frowned and looked at Bai Qianmo.
Seeing Bai Qianmo standing unharmed in front of him, he finally felt relieved.
Dumb and short-tempered, strangers keep away.
If you suddenly meet a stranger, you might very well play a prank on them.
"Baby girl, are you alright?"
Bai Qianmo glanced indifferently at the simpleton again.
"Luckily, Mr. Gu arrived in time, otherwise, I might be the one missing an arm or a leg."
Ha, you little rascal, you're tattlering? You think I wouldn't?
The dim-witted one sensed Bai Qianmo's provocative gaze.
The dog narrowed its eyes, then bit Qin Lao's trouser leg, whimpering.
Old Qin looked embarrassed.
He had only asked casually because he saw that Bai Yatou seemed fine.
Under normal circumstances, the other party would give the dog owner some face and wouldn't make a fuss.
But then they encountered something unusual—this girl and their grandson were truly a match made in heaven.
They're all so difficult to deal with.
Old Qin glared angrily at the dimwit and kicked it.
"Go to the backyard and reflect on your actions."
Awoo.
The simpleton glared indignantly at Bai Qianmo.
Gu Jueye shot a cold glare at him, scaring Gouzi so much that he turned and ran away.
Qin Jingwen walked towards Bai Qianmo's side, her face full of concern.
"Miss Bai, are you really alright?"
Bai Qianmo gently shook her head. It's just a dog.
Seeing Bai Qianmo nod, Qin Jingwen was relieved.
He glanced quickly at Gu Jueye and Bai Qianmo, as if scrutinizing them.
Do my cousin and Miss Bai know each other?
However, the scene of the two of them hugging just now was really pleasing to the eye.
Old Qin said, "It's good that you're alright. He may look a bit fierce, but he's actually very well-behaved."
Qin Jingwen glanced at Old Master Qin: "You shouldn't have brought that dimwit back. What if he had hurt Miss Bai just now?"
After being scolded by his granddaughter, Old Qin knew he was in the wrong and didn't dare to argue back.
"Alright, let's go inside and talk."
Gu Jueye didn't speak, but glanced at Bai Qianmo out of the corner of his eye.
He followed Old Qin into the house first.
Qin Jingwen accompanied Bai Qianmo inside, talking about silly things as they went.
"We only brought this silly dog back from the village the day before yesterday. We originally wanted it to guard the wild pheasants on the village, but ever since it left, all the wild pheasants have almost gone bald. So Grandpa had to bring it back."
Old Qin raised a flock of wild pheasants on his farm in the western suburbs.
Weasels often roam around stealing chickens, so the old man thought he should go to the army and pick out a retired dog to guard the house.
I happened to see Moxin, who was fighting with other dogs.
Covered in blood, yet full of vigor and high spirits, he lunged at his opponent.
According to Mr. Qin himself, that ruthlessness was just like his younger self.
And so, the man and the dog hit it off immediately!
I heard that the soldiers were overjoyed when they saw the dimwit leave.
All that's missing is to set off some firecrackers to celebrate.
"He's a bit dim-witted and takes advantage of his grandfather's doting love. He's used to bullying others and acting like a big shot. Everyone says he's fearless, but he's actually quite afraid of Brother Ye," Qin Jingwen said with a smile.
Bai Qianmo raised her eyebrows slightly.
Even dogs are afraid of him, which shows how powerful this man's aura is.
The two went inside while talking.
Old Qin and Gu Jueye sat in front of the sofa, their eyes simultaneously turning towards Qin Jingwen and Bai Qianmo.
Qin Jingwen pulled Bai Qianmo to sit down.
Old Qin's gaze darted back and forth between Gu Jueye and Bai Qianmo's faces.
"You two are together?"
Old Qin spent many years in the army, possessing a strong sense of integrity and a straightforward personality.
Out of curiosity, I couldn't help but ask directly.
Gu Jueye glanced at Bai Qianmo: "Miss Bai is with me, but not in the way you think."
Old Qin narrowed his cunning fox-like eyes and looked at Gu Jueye with a half-smile.
"How do you know what I'm thinking? Unless you think the same way."
Gu Jueye paused for a moment, glanced at Bai Qianmo, and then lowered his eyes.
He picked up his yew teacup and slowly sipped the tea.
"You've been disrespectful to your elders for quite some time now."
