Chapter 667 A Close Call

The curtains covered most of the balcony, but when the man pulled them open, the balcony was completely empty.

But the window was fully open, and when he got closer, he could vaguely see the footprints of a pair of shoes on the window frame.

Looking down, at a height of over thirty stories, could anyone really jump from here?

However, just above the man's head, a dark figure was hanging less than half a meter from the window, his hands gripping the rope tightly, climbing quickly towards the top floor like a nimble spider.

Upon reaching the top floor, Fang Shu took out a telescope from his waist and looked in the direction Bai Yitang had left.

I saw him get into a taxi, and then the other person got into another taxi and followed closely behind.

Fang Shu frowned, took out his phone, and made a call.

At this moment, Bai Yitang, who had just survived the ordeal, felt that he had finally come back to life. He had only relaxed for two seconds when his phone in his pocket suddenly vibrated, startling him so much that his whole body trembled.

I took out my phone and looked at the screen.

Unknown number.

At this point in time, he wouldn't suspect it was a sales advertisement or a scam call.

After hesitating for a moment, I mustered up my courage and pressed the answer button.

"Look behind you." A calm male voice came from the phone.

Bai Yitang subconsciously turned his head and looked through the rear window of the car. A taxi was following closely behind him.

When he saw the person sitting in the passenger seat, his face turned deathly pale.

"This guy is still following me. What does he want?"

“There’s a KFC 500 meters ahead. Park your car and go in.”

What would I do at KFC?

"I'll order and be there in ten minutes."

Bai Yitang took a deep breath; it seemed he had no choice but to listen to this guy for the time being.

"Driver, park at the KFC ahead."

The car came to a smooth stop in front of the KFC. After getting out of the car, Bai Yitang glanced at the roadside out of the corner of his eye and saw that the person who had been following him had also gotten out of the car and was staring at him blatantly.

Bai Yitang quickly turned his face away and walked into the KFC.

He chose a window seat and ordered a single-person burger combo.

The other person followed closely behind, choosing a spot diagonally opposite him that was neither too close nor too far away. As soon as the other person looked up, he could immediately spot him.

With a nervous heart, Bai Yitang ate his hamburger without tasting it, his eyes frequently glancing out the floor-to-ceiling window.

Just then, a familiar figure came into his view.

Bai Yitang almost stood up excitedly, but remembering that the bad guys were still watching him, he forcefully suppressed the surging emotions in his heart.

The door was opened, and Fang Shu, dressed in all black and wearing a black hat, walked slowly toward the bar with his head slightly lowered.

After ordering, Bai Yitang assumed he would walk towards him.

But to his surprise, he chose to sit in the empty seat next to the stalker.

Bai Yitang frowned, puzzled.

Isn't this guy sitting on the other side of the table afraid of attracting their attention?

The burly man munched on his hamburger, but glanced at Fang Shu twice.

But the focus quickly shifted to Bai Yitang.

Bai Yitang was worried that Fang Shu would find out about his acquaintance with him, so he dared not look at Fang Shu in that direction again.

"Meal number 48 is ready!"

Upon hearing his number called, Fang Shu got up to retrieve his meal.

He ordered two steak burgers, a fried chicken wing, a fries, and a large Coke.

Just as he was passing by the person who shouted, he suddenly slipped and a cup of cola spilled sideways onto the person.

In the blink of an eye, the man nimbly dodged, and Fang Shu simultaneously steadied his Coke cup.

To everyone else, this was an accident.

The burly man didn't think much of it, but the spilled cola still splashed onto the other person.

"I'm so sorry, sir!"

The burly man looked rather grim and glared fiercely at Fang Shu.

"Kid, have you been out of bed for days? Are your legs so clumsy?"

"Sorry, the cleaning lady just cleaned the floor and it's a bit slippery. Let me wipe it for you with a tissue."

Before the burly man could refuse, Fang Shu directly picked up a tissue provided in the store and wiped the man's collar.

The tissue had barely touched the other man's collar when the burly man impatiently swatted his hand away. He then hurriedly looked towards the French windows, but Bai Yitang was nowhere to be seen.

"Damn it!" the man cursed, then immediately got up and chased after it.

Fang Shu curled his lips into a cold smile, thinking to himself, "That kid Bai Yitang does have some sense."

Bai Yitang successfully evaded the burly man's pursuit and escaped home.

He plopped down on his bed and let out a long sigh.

The phone rang again. He glanced at it and saw that it was Fang Shu calling again. Bai Yitang answered immediately.

Fang Shu cleverly used a feint to help him escape, which made Bai Yitang trust him more.

Where are you?

"I need to take care of some things, so don't go out for the next couple of days."

"Does the other party think they can come to my house and supervise me?" Bai Yitang was furious. Wasn't he being restricted in his freedom?

Do you think the other party wouldn't dare?

Bai Yitang was completely stumped by this question.

Would the other party dare? It seems there's nothing they wouldn't dare.

Grandpa's mind is now under the control of the other party, and he completely obeys Bai Xinrou's words.

At this point, in Grandpa's eyes, they were no longer his relatives. If they wanted to come here, probably no one could stop them.

Shrugged dejectedly, Bai Yitang said, "Today I went to follow Bai Xinrou, which completely exposed myself. Hasn't this already alerted her?"

There was silence on the other end of the phone. Bai Yitang felt that the other party had already tacitly agreed, and his heart grew heavier.

After a moment of silence, Fang Shu said coldly, "Your appearance won't change anything, but you must ensure your own safety right now, so you can't leave the Bai family until things are resolved."

Bai Yitang curled his lip. As expected of Bai Qianmo's friend, his tone of voice was just like hers, so arrogant that it made people want to punch him.
