Chapter 676 Ghostly Figure

Bai Qianmo pursed her lips, a hint of teasing in her smile: "I probably don't need any help, I just hope Teacher Lang will remember what he said."

Lang Xiao's smile was somewhat distorted; although he was over forty, he was handsome and well-maintained.

But it still looked ferocious and ugly.

"Hehe, then it's settled. I'll toast you with a drink, and after we drink this, we'll completely let bygones be bygones."

Lang Xiao took the initiative to pick up his wine glass, since Bai Qianmo's glass was empty because she couldn't drink alcohol.

Lang Xiao glanced at the empty glass on the table: "Qianmo, you don't seem to be able to drink, right? Look at my memory, we had a fight last time because of toasting."

"Waiter, bring me a glass of orange juice," Lang Xiao called out to the waiter at the door.

Soon, the waiter brought in a glass of orange juice.

Lang Xiao personally took the juice and handed it to Bai Qianmo.

"I remember you drank orange juice last time, so I ordered another one for you this time. Here you go."

Bai Qianmo looked at the orange juice handed to her, hesitated for a moment, and then reached out to take it.

"Qianmo..." Han Songyan wanted to speak up to stop her.

She couldn't figure out what Lang Xiao was up to, but his unusual behavior must mean he had some purpose.

Gu Hongxun frowned and glanced at the glass of juice.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Lang Xiao, as a senior, personally served Bai Qianmo juice. If Bai Qianmo didn't drink it, and this news got out, it would probably cause another bloodbath.

But what is Lang Xiao's purpose in taking such a proactive step to show goodwill?

"Teacher Lang, I salute you."

"I hope we can put aside our past grievances and cooperate happily in the future." Lang Xiao raised his head and drank a full glass of beer.

Bai Qianmo then drank a few sips of orange juice.

Lang Xiao stared at Bai Qianmo through the glass, a slight, almost imperceptible smile playing on his lips.

The wrap party ended

Bai Qianmo returned to her room.

A moment later, there was a knock on the door. She went to the door, opened it, and saw Han Songyan standing outside.

"Qianmo!"

Bai Qianmo glanced at her, said nothing, and turned away.

"Come in and talk."

Han Songyan's eyes lit up, and a smile immediately appeared on her lips.

"good!"

The two entered the room, and Han Songyan was a little reserved.

"Please sit down."

"good!"

Han Songyan sat down: "Are you feeling alright right now?"

"You mean that glass of orange juice?"

“Lang Xiao is narrow-minded and arrogant. He won’t apologize for no reason, so I’m worried that he has some bad intentions.”

Bai Qianmo curled her lips, her eyes full of disdain.

"Even if he had any ulterior motives, he would only be making a fool of himself."

Han Songyan stared at Bai Qianmo for a while, then remained silent.

Seeing her silence, Bai Qianmo, who was already taciturn, also stopped speaking.

The mother and daughter looked at each other for a long time before Han Songyan spoke first: "I'm relieved to see you're alright. By the way, when are you going back to the city tomorrow?"

"Six o'clock in the morning."

"Do you have a private car? If not, let my driver take you home."

"No need, my company will send a car to pick me up."

Han Songyan nodded: "This year, I can only go home on New Year's Eve. Qianmo, this is your first New Year back home. I... I hope that the four of us can sit together and have a quiet reunion dinner."

Bai Qianmo remained silent for a while, feeling somewhat hesitant.

One issue was how to deal with her relationship with Han Songyan, and the other was thinking about her grandfather.

Seeing Bai Qianmo hesitate, the last glimmer of hope in Han Songyan's heart was instantly extinguished.

"It's okay, there's plenty of time in the future."

Bai Qianmo glanced at Han Songyan: "I will come over."

"Huh?" Han Songyan's eyes widened suddenly, thinking she was hallucinating.

"I'm going back to Longxiyuan on New Year's Eve."

"Okay, then... it's settled then. I'll try to get home early that day and cook some of your favorite dishes. It's getting late, so I won't disturb your rest any longer. Go to sleep early and be careful on the road tomorrow."

Bai Qianmo nodded and saw Han Songyan out the door.

Han Songyan lived downstairs. After saying goodbye to Bai Qianmo, she took the elevator and left.

Bai Qianmo stood at the door, watching her departing figure, and a sense of anticipation for the arrival of New Year's Eve actually arose in her heart.

Looking back over the past twenty years, apart from busying myself with helping Zhang Cuiyan gather firewood on New Year's Eve in the countryside so she could steam and cook New Year's goods, there seems to be nothing else that I remember vividly.

After going abroad, Lunar New Year's Eve was almost always spent in a mundane way. Although that person would give her a gift on that day, she never truly experienced what the New Year's spirit was.

As I thought of this, a scene flashed through my mind.

It was a young man, his face blurred, his deep, melodious voice so sweet it could make your ears pregnant, who said to her, "Happy New Year!"

She tried to get a good look at the man's face, but a sharp pain shot through her eyes.

In the blur, a dark figure glanced furtively in their direction before disappearing in a flash.

Bai Qianmo forced down the discomfort in her eyes, glanced thoughtfully in the direction where the dark figure had disappeared.

He then stepped back into the house and slammed the door shut.
