Mei's expression grew increasingly solemn, her eyes filled with gloom.
She had been loyal to Mr. Feng for many years and never thought of betraying him.
But the thought that she would never see Yin Chi again in her life was more unbearable for her than the torment she suffered in Death Valley.
Bai Qianmo was confident that Mei would betray her master for Yin Chi's sake.
However, despite her careful planning, she underestimated the man's methods.
Just as Mei was about to reveal Mr. Feng's true identity, a phone call came in.
The caller ID shows a local, unknown number.
Just as Bai Qianmo was hesitating whether to answer the call, the other party hung up the phone.
A minute later, the other party sent a text message.
The message was concise: Make a deal, trade your cousin's life for the life of one of my men.
Bai Qianmo's mood plummeted.
Bai Yitang has been arrested?
She immediately dialed Xu Hualan's number.
When Xu Hualan answered the phone, her voice trembled with a hint of tears.
"Qianmo, Yitang... he secretly went out. When I found out he wasn't home, I tried calling him but couldn't get through."
Bai Qianmo closed her eyes slightly; this troublemaker had indeed come out on his own.
On the hillside outside the western city of the capital
A car slowly pulled up to the side of the road.
The area is overgrown with weeds, and there are very few vehicles passing by.
After the black sedan stopped, three men got out of the car. Then, the man in the back seat reached out and pulled out a figure.
It was a young boy, bound hand and foot with ropes and his mouth taped shut. He was roughly dragged off the car and shoved into the nearby dense forest.
Bai Yitang was filled with regret.
After Bai Qianmo left, he was determined to prove his abilities, so he followed her out.
Originally, he wanted to follow Bai Qianmo, imagining that Bai Qianmo would be captured by the other party, and he would appear in time to save the beauty.
As soon as he stepped out of the alley, he was hit on the back of the head with a blunt object.
When he woke up, he found himself in the car, his hands and feet were tightly bound, and even his mouth was taped shut.
Amid fear, Bai Yitang felt mostly anger.
He must have had the worst luck imaginable; why do these people always target him?
A dull ache still lingered in the back of his head, a reminder of how hard he had been hit by that blow.
Which damn guy knocked him out?
If he finds out, I'll chop off that guy's hooves!
"Hey kid, what are you dawdling about? You think someone's going to come and rescue you in this deep mountain forest?" The leader stopped, turned around, and sneered at Bai Yitang.
"Mmm..." Bai Yitang tried to make a sound.
The eldest brother sneered, "This kid must be scared out of his wits."
"Haha, let me check if you're scared to death." A man lewdly stepped forward and reached out to touch Bai Yitang.
Bai Yitang looked disgusted, squeezed his legs together, and quickly turned to the side to avoid the man's greasy hand.
"Tear off the tape for this kid. This is deep in the mountains, even if he had a hundred lives, he couldn't escape."
The eldest brother spoke up, and another tall, thin man stepped forward and roughly tore off the tape from Bai Yitang's mouth.
Bai Yitang took two deep breaths first.
“What exactly do you want to do by bringing me here? Let me tell you, if you’re trying to extort money from me, you’d better give up. My family thinks I’m a burden and has been wanting to kick me out for a long time. You won’t get a single penny out of me by kidnapping me.”
Bai Yitang's eyes darted around: "But considering how much effort you went through to kidnap me, I'll kindly point you out a way to make a fortune."
Several men stared at him.
Bai Yitang tried his best to suppress the panic rising in his heart and forced out a harmless and friendly smile.
“Our family has a tradition of favoring girls over boys. But the men in the Bai family have such strong genes that they always have boys. In my father’s generation, my grandparents had two sons. In our generation, we finally had a daughter. My grandfather, my parents, and my uncles and aunts dote on this girl. If you kidnap her, I guarantee you can have as much money as you want.”
At this critical moment, Bai Yitang finally admitted that Bai Qianmo was stronger than him.
If Bai Qianmo had been kidnapped by these guys, she would have taken down all three of them with a single punch, and then looked down at them with that arrogant, disdainful expression.
Then, with a flourish, he suddenly turned and left.
However, when it was his turn, his life was completely in someone else's hands.
"It seems this kid doesn't know why he was kidnapped."
"Stop wasting time talking to him, let's keep going."
The lewd man gave Bai Yitang a suggestive smile and couldn't resist reaching out his greasy hand to pinch Bai Yitang's face again.
