Chapter 718

So this was the first time she had personally experienced the speed of light.

Bai Qianmo said coldly, "Compared to your master, I am definitely a genuine human being."

Although she hadn't fully figured out Mr. Feng's background, she always felt that this guy was definitely not an ordinary human being.

As for his purpose, it should be just as Mei herself said: to find the whereabouts of the Qi King's Ding.

Bai Qianmo pulled the bound Mei toward the base, and the guards at the gate saw the two girls walking toward them.

One of them immediately took out a walkie-talkie from his waist and made a call to the people inside the base.

Afterwards, Bai Qianmo led Mei Tong into the dilapidated house without any hindrance.

Upon entering, Bai Qianmo immediately noticed the thin figure standing at the door.

Uncle Jiu stood hunched over in the middle of the doorway, his wrinkled eyes staring intently at Bai Qianmo for a while.

"Miss Bai, you are such a pleasant surprise."

The master set an hour, but Bai Qianmo felt it in just a few minutes.

It seems the boss was right; Bai Qianmo is not an ordinary person, but a superhuman with extremely powerful abilities.

Bai Qianmo understood what Ninth Uncle was saying.

They deliberately limited her to one hour, while the drive and hike from the neighborhood would take almost two hours.

The delay doubled the time; even a top-of-the-line supercar couldn't possibly get there within an hour.

Mr. Feng was clearly trying to test her background.

But in that situation, she could no longer hide it in order to save Bai Yitang.

“I’ve brought him here. Let me see your master.”

“My master has been waiting for a long time, Miss Bai, please.”

Uncle Nine stepped aside to make way, respectfully gesturing for him to pass.

Bai Qianmo pulled Mei inside, and Mei took the opportunity to glance at Uncle Jiu.

Uncle Nine wore a faint smile, but his eyes were deathly still.

Mei felt a pang of anxiety and lowered her head nervously.

Bai Qianmo followed Uncle Jiu upstairs to the second floor.

Arriving outside a room with a mahogany door, Uncle Nine gently knocked three times.

Because the door was ajar, Uncle Nine pushed it open and went inside.

"Master, Miss Bai has arrived!"

It was daytime, but the house was pitch black, with blackout curtains completely covering the already small doors and windows.

After her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Bai Qianmo began searching for figures inside the house.

Suddenly, a coughing sound came from behind, and Bai Qianmo looked in the direction of the sound.

In the darkness, a man stood in front of the liquor cabinet, seemingly fiddling with something.

A soft, melodious violin piece was playing in the room, and the man's handsome hands fiddled gently on the bar counter for a while.

Bai Qianmo smelled the aroma of wine wafting towards her.

She looked in the direction of the figure and saw the man walking towards her.

Although the other person's face was not clearly visible, judging from their upright posture and walking frequency, they were a young person.

The man held a glass of wine in his hand, gently swirling it, and a faint blue light could be seen emanating from within the glass.

"Would you like a drink?"

The man handed a glass of wine to Bai Qianmo, his voice kind and deep.

"I don't drink. I've brought the person over to you. Where is my brother?"

The man chuckled softly and then took a sip of his drink.

"It's not that you can't drink, but that you're allergic to most types of alcohol. The drink I made is called 'Obsession,' which uses peach blossoms as the main ingredient and adds other ingredients. This makes the wine very fragrant but less potent, perfect for girls."

Bai Qianmo frowned slightly.

She came to save people, not to drink.

But instead of making any requests, the man started talking at length about wine.

"I have no interest in drinking. Where is my brother?"

Seeing Bai Qianmo scoff at the fruit wine he had painstakingly brewed, a subtle change appeared in the man's calm eyes.

“Miss Bai, I enjoy making friends over drinks. If someone doesn’t drink this cup of wine I brew, I’ll be unhappy. If I’m unhappy, I can’t guarantee that your brother will survive for even an hour.”

The man was laughing as he spoke, and the threat was palpable.

Bai Qianmo knew that this Mr. Feng was not easy to deal with, and half an hour had already passed.

She had to rescue Bai Yitang within the remaining half hour.

Seemingly aware of Bai Qianmo's worries, the man said, "Don't worry, I can guarantee you won't get drunk."

Bai Qianmo seemed to have made up her mind, and tilted her head back to drink the half-cup of wine in one gulp.

A sweet taste flowed slowly down my throat, and I really didn't feel the harshness of ordinary alcohol!

"How was it?" the man asked expectantly.

Bai Qianmo stared expressionlessly at the man who was less than a meter away.

"Mr. Feng, I've drunk the wine, and I've brought your men with me. Shouldn't you release my cousin now?"

"Hehe, Miss Bai, you really haven't changed much from before."

In the past?

A question flashed through Bai Qianmo's mind: Had she ever met this Mr. Feng?

Have we met before? Who are you?

"Hehe, we've met more than once," the man chuckled, his gaze softening slightly.

He waved to Uncle Jiu, who understood and walked out of the room.

The man walked to the liquor cabinet and poured himself another glass of wine.

After taking a few sips, he continued, "You've forgotten all our memories, but that's fine. Let's just pretend the past is dead, and now we can get to know each other again."
