But she was afraid, so she instinctively moved closer to Bai Qianmo. Even while she was fast asleep, she still tightly gripped Bai Qianmo's dress with one hand.
Xiao Huan and Xiao Bi didn't dare to stray too far from Bai Qianmo, the two little girls huddled up next to her.
Bai Qianmo's eyes were slightly closed, seemingly asleep, but in fact she was not sleepy at all.
What she said to Wang Zhenshan was true, because she saw in him some of the scenes he had experienced in the past few days.
Among them were instances of his visits to and from the Governor's Office.

Those images flashed clearly through my mind, as clear as watching a 3D movie.
"Boss, has Lao Liu come back?" One of Wang Zhenshan's brothers hurriedly walked back from outside, carrying a gun.
The brothers inside the house were fast asleep.
Wang Zhenshan immediately realized: "Wasn't Lao Liu on guard duty with you?"
"Yes, but he just said he was going to use the restroom, so I patrolled the area by myself. I waited for a while and he didn't come back, so I thought he had secretly run back by himself."
The bearded man looked around. The dilapidated house was so small that its entire appearance could be seen at a glance.
A dozen or so brothers lay sprawled on the ground, which was temporarily covered with dry grass.
The bearded man said, "Sixth Brother isn't in the house. I just vaguely heard the howling of wolves. Let's go out and look for him."
Wang Zhenshan said, "Call the brothers up and let's go out and search together."
"yes."
"Brothers, get up!"
With a shout from the bearded man, the group of burly men who were fast asleep all sat up.
"Old Six is missing. Let's all go out and look for him."
"Old Six is missing? Could he have gone off somewhere to sleep?"
"Let's go find him first. If that kid is hiding somewhere slacking off, I'll give him a good beating!" Wang Zhenshan cursed, ordering several brothers and Big Beard to stay and guard Bai Qianmo and the others. He then led a group of brothers, carrying torches, out in a grand procession to search for Lao Liu's whereabouts.
After Wang Zhenshan and the others left, Bai Qianmo slowly opened her eyes.
His cold gaze swept over the bearded man and his companions.
Wang Zhenshan left five of his brothers to guard them.
The bearded man sat against the wall near the door, his cold, deep eyes fixed on her with a wary expression.
Bai Qianmo pretended to be sleepy and closed her eyes again.
Xu Jinwei, Xiao Huan, and Bi'er were also woken up, and they looked confused.
"Xu Jin'en, what's going on outside?" Xu Jinwei asked in a low, thoughtful voice.
Bai Qianmo didn't open her eyes and said softly, "If it starts to get noisy outside later, remember to run to the left when you go out."
Xu Jinwei didn't understand the meaning behind Bai Qianmo's sudden words, so she could only nod blankly.
Just then, a gunshot rang out outside.
The girls were so frightened that their expressions changed.
Bai Qianmo then slowly opened her eyes.
"Second Master, something terrible has happened! The Commander-in-Chief's men are coming after us!"
The bearded man's expression changed drastically; he sensed that something was wrong.
He immediately told his brothers to grab their guns and prepare to support Wang Zhenshan.
As I reached the door, I remembered the four girls inside and the third sister who was currently unconscious due to her severed arm.
"Eighth Brother, you stay here and look after Third Brother."
"Yes, Second Master."
The bearded man left with the remaining brothers, while the young man who was ranked eighth stayed behind.
He stood at the door, holding two guns in his hands, watching Bai Qianmo and the others warily.
The gunfire outside grew increasingly intense, sounding like a fierce battle, with occasional shouts and screams.
Although Lao Ba was inside the house, he was thinking about his brothers. He didn't know how many soldiers from the Governor's Mansion had come. No matter how strong his brothers were, they couldn't withstand hundreds or thousands of soldiers.
Thinking of this, Lao Ba began to peer out the door, trying to get a clear picture of the battle situation outside.
Just then, a sharp pain suddenly shot through the back of my head.
Before he could see clearly, everything went black, a wave of dizziness washed over him, and he collapsed.

The two guns in his hands fell to the ground with a thud.
Bai Qianmo stood there and reached out to Lao Ba, rubbing her fair wrist.
He lowered his gaze, glanced at the two guns, and then squatted down to pick them up.
She turned and walked towards Xu Jinwei, Xiao Huan, and Bi'er, only to find the three of them staring at her in astonishment.
Their minds were still replaying the scene from just now.
They had just witnessed Bai Qianmo break free of the ropes and knock Lao Ba unconscious; it was all done in one smooth motion.
Her hands and feet were tightly bound with hemp rope, yet she easily tore the rope apart, as easily as tearing a piece of paper.
Xu Jinwei finally realized something at that moment.
This girl's skills are not as flashy as I thought.
Bai Qianmo ignored their astonished expressions and started by untying the ropes from Xu Jinwei onwards.
"You remember what you just said?"
"What?" Xu Jinwei hadn't come to her senses yet.
"Run to the left as soon as you leave. Do not run in the wrong direction. This is a deep forest. If you go any further, you will enter a wild animal area. If you accidentally enter a restricted area, you will surely die."
"You...you're not coming with us?"
"I have other things to do and can't leave for the time being. Keep these two guns for self-defense." Bai Qianmo handed the two pistols to Xu Jinwei.
