"How about it?"
One of the confidants opened his palm, revealing a black listening device about the size of a thumb.
Pei Yuanshao reached out and took it, then put it on his ear.
Gu Tingjun's voice could be heard coming from inside.
"Old man, now it's just the two of us in the room. Tell me, where is the seal?"
Old Gu glanced towards the door.
“Come here, I’ll tell you in a low voice.”
Gu Tingjun sneered: "This secret room has special soundproofing. Even if the people inside scream their lungs out, the people outside won't hear a thing."
A strange glint flashed in Old Gu's eyes: "Better safe than sorry. Pei Yuanshao is extremely cunning. You can't outsmart him at all. He might have already installed a bug in this room."
Outside the door, Pei Yuanshao, who was eavesdropping, became slightly serious.
This old man is really hard to deal with.
He guessed everything.
Gu Tingjun didn't believe Gu Lao's words at all, and said smugly, "The combination lock of this secret room uses my fingerprint. I have never brought that kid here before. The two kids outside the door are also my men. Even if Pei Yuanshao had such thoughts, he would not have had the chance to make a move."
After hearing Gu Tingjun's words, Pei Yuanshao felt relieved.
Old Gu shook his head.
"The seal is of great significance to the Gu family and must not be lost in the slightest. If you want to know its whereabouts, do as I say."
Gu Tingjun was too lazy to argue with the old man any longer, and his expression was full of impatience.
He walked over to the old man and whispered in Gu Laodao's ear.
"Speak!"
Old Master Gu leaned closer and put his mouth to Gu Tingjun's right ear.
"The seal is right here..."
Suddenly, Old Master Gu opened his mouth wide and bit down hard on Gu Tingjun's ear.
"Ah! Ah!" The screams, louder and louder, echoed throughout the secret chamber.
Old Gu held on tightly, refusing to let go.
Blood trickled down the corner of his mouth.
Gu Tingjun trembled all over in pain. After regaining his senses, he grabbed Old Master Gu's chin and forced him to let go of his mouth.
Old Gu's mouth was full of blood, but a hint of a smile flashed in his eyes.
Gu Tingjun touched his ear and found that a large piece of it had been bitten off.
He immediately raised his hand in anger and slapped Old Gu hard across the face.
"Old man, you really don't know what's good for you. You're my prisoner now. If you dare to bite me, I think you don't want to live anymore."
Gu Tingjun was furious and drew his pistol, ready to shoot Old Master Gu.
At that moment, the door was suddenly kicked open.
Pei Yuanshao rushed in quickly.
"Don't fire."
"Who let you in? Get out!" Gu Tingjun covered half of his ear, turned around and roared at Pei Yuanshao.
Pei Yuanshao gave him a cold glance, then turned his gaze to Elder Gu.
Old Master Gu collapsed to the ground, with a piece of flesh beside him—half of Gu Tingjun's ear.
Pei Yuanshao's expression twisted slightly; he hadn't expected the old man to bite off Gu Tingjun's ear.
This ruthlessness exceeded his expectations.
