Bai Luoyu glanced at Bai Yitang: "I remember when you were arrested last time, the old man seemed to display the composure and calmness of a head of the family to the fullest extent."
Bai Yitang looked at his cousin with a mournful expression.
"Brother Yu, it's not right to stab someone in the heart." After saying that, she blinked her big eyes a few times in a coquettish manner.
Bai Luoyu: ...
She couldn't help but shudder, taking two steps back to consciously distance herself from Bai Yitang.
Bai Yitang withdrew his disgusting expression and raised an eyebrow smugly.
*
Seeing his granddaughter walking towards him, Grandpa Bai's eyes suddenly welled up with tears.
He looked Bai Qianmo up and down for a moment, then said excitedly, "It's good that you're back, but you still look very weak. You silly girl, why didn't you let us know you were safe now that you're awake? We were so worried about you."
Bai Qianmo looked calmly at Elder Bai.
Is this her grandfather?
Seeing the old man's moist eyes, it seemed that, as Yuan You had said, Bai Lao had indeed doted on his granddaughter very much over the past year.
Bai Qianmo didn't speak, her gaze quickly sweeping over the people behind Old Bai.
My gaze lingered on Han Songyan's face for a couple more seconds. Her features were very similar to mine. Without a doubt, this was her biological mother, Han Songyan, the most sought-after pianist and actress in the entertainment industry.
Seeing Bai Qianmo looking at her, Han Songyan's eyes reddened. She had been holding back her tears, but now, they flowed uncontrollably.
Bai Qianmo frowned.
Yuan You said that her biological mother never liked her and even did many things to deliberately smear her in order to prevent her from entering the entertainment industry.
To this end, Yuan You even searched for some negative information about her from last year, most of which included Han Songyan and her adopted daughter Bai Xiruo.
These news reports flashed through her mind, and Bai Qianmo silently shifted her gaze away from Han Songyan's face.
"Qianmo, why aren't you saying anything? Are you still feeling unwell after recovering from a serious illness?" Xu Hualan asked with concern.
"It's cold outside, let's go home." Old Bai stretched out his wrinkled hand, wanting to pull Bai Qianmo home.
But when he reached out, he missed.
Bai Qianmo avoided his hand, her expression slightly furrowed: "I'm sorry, I just came to see you all, I have to go back in a bit."
“Go back? This is your home, where else do you want to go back to?” Old Bai frowned deeply.
"Research institute".
Old Bai's eyes darkened: "You went straight to the research institute after leaving the hospital. Your older brother and the others came looking for you, but the people inside wouldn't let them in. Did you go to see that kid Gu Jueye?"
Bai Luoyu walked over and said, "Grandpa, Qianmo has amnesia. She seems to only remember Gu Jueye now, and she doesn't remember anyone else."
"What, amnesia?"
Bai Lao, Bai Kangyan, Bai Kangcheng, Han Songyan, and Xu Hualan all showed expressions of surprise.
"Qianmo, have you really lost your memory?" Bai Kangyan asked anxiously.
Old Bai stared at her without saying a word.
He had actually noticed something was off about the girl earlier.
When I come home on weekdays, I greet him with "Grandpa" and my eyes are full of smiles.
But when Qianmo looked at him just now, her eyes were filled with unfamiliarity and indifference.
"To be precise, I only lost my memories of the last few years. When I woke up, I found myself in China. The people around me told me that I had been living here for a year and had been recognized by the Bai family. Out of curiosity, I came to take a look."
Upon hearing Bai Qianmo's unusually unfamiliar words, Elder Bai's brows furrowed even more deeply.
"How could this happen? How could I have lost several years of memories out of nowhere?"
Han Songyan walked up to Bai Qianmo, her eyes filled with love for her daughter.
"Qianmo, amnesia isn't a big problem. It's probably just temporary. You'll recover in a while. Let's go home first. You're still very weak. It's cold outside, so don't catch a cold."
Bai Qianmo glanced at Han Songyan indifferently.
She actually wanted to see the place where she used to live.
Just as I was about to nod, several cars drove up in a long procession.
Cars were parked in a cluster at the entrance of the alley, blocking the way and attracting the attention of many people.
A group of men in black disembarked in an orderly fashion and stood straight in front of the middle car.
The back door opened, and Fang Shu was the first to get out of the car.
He quickly glanced at Bai Qianmo, then turned around and stood respectfully to the side.
A straight leg stepped out of the car first, followed by a graceful and elegant figure stepping out of the vehicle.
The man wore a black trench coat and black trousers. His face, as exquisite as a scabbard, was pale and cold. His phoenix eyes were deep as the sea, and his sharply defined lips were taut into a line. His face was expressionless, and it was difficult to see even a ripple of emotion in him.
When his gaze swept lightly over Bai Qianmo, a glint of light flashed in his eyes, which were as dry as a well.
He walked straight over, seemingly carrying an aura that was awe-inspiring, making it difficult for anyone to take their eyes off him, yet they couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and dare not meet his gaze directly.
Old Bai's expression changed slightly, and he stared at the man walking towards him with a probing gaze.
Having been in politics for many years and experienced the ups and downs of officialdom, he had come into contact with many of the big names in the capital.
That sharp, commanding aura of authority is evident in many important figures.
