Fang Shu glanced at Bai Qianmo and answered in a deep voice.
"I was just doing what my master told me to do."
"Hmph, Fifth Brother is sick and his body is weak. How could he have time to give these instructions? I think someone is deliberately obstructing us."
After saying that, Lisa looked at Bai Qianmo with resentment.
"I absolutely must see my fifth brother today. Not only do I have to see him, but I also have to watch him drink the chicken soup I made myself. Nobody can stop me."
Lisa rushed towards the stairwell, and Fang Shu stepped forward to block her, extending his arm to stand beside her.
"Miss Lisa, please don't put me in a difficult position."
Lisa haughtily raised her chin, a sly glint in her eyes.
Without stopping, she went straight for Fang Shu's arm. She was half a head shorter than Fang Shu, and the position where Fang Shu extended his arm was exactly at her chest.
So, seeing his sensitive area about to hit his arm, Fang Shu suddenly felt a little uneasy.
If Lisa had actually bumped into him, his palm would have been right on her right breast.
Just as the two were about to meet, Fang Shu withdrew his arm as quickly as lightning.
Lisa gave a smug hum and was about to walk forward when another arm blocked her way.
Lisa frowned and glared angrily at the person blocking her way.
"Bai Qianmo, get out of my way."
Bai Qianmo curled her lips slightly and glanced down at the thermos in Lisa's right hand.
"Chicken soup is nourishing, but it's the soup that Fifth Brother dislikes the most. Didn't you know that?"
Lisa's expression froze instantly.
Fifth brother doesn't drink chicken soup? How come she didn't know that?
Back in Gudeburg, my fifth brother never liked the Gudeburg family’s regular family gatherings. He always had a servant who would personally prepare his meals at his residence.
Therefore, she ate with her fifth brother very few times.
But she didn't believe Bai Qianmo's nonsense.
"Bai Qianmo, you'll tell any lie you want to stop me from seeing Fifth Brother. Whether he drinks chicken soup or not isn't up to you. I'll wait until I see him in person and hear him tell me himself. Get out of my way."
Bai Qianmo stood aside, showing no intention of backing down.
"No need. I've already prepared food for Fifth Brother. You should keep your chicken soup for yourself. He needs to rest and it's not convenient for him to see guests right now."
The word "foreign guest" was particularly jarring.
It pierced deeply into Lisa's heart.
“I’ve lived in Gudeburg with my fifth brother since I was a child. We’ve known each other for over twenty years. How dare you call me an outsider? Bai Qianmo, who gave you the audacity to be so arrogant? You’re a shameless slut. Your fifth brother’s estrangement from me is all your doing. I don’t know how many bad things you said about me to him when I wasn’t around. Bai Qianmo, I will never give up on my fifth brother. We are engaged. I am his fiancée. You are just a country bumpkin he picked up out of pity. He will never want you.”
Lisa sneered angrily, her hatred shooting through her eyes like a thousand sharp, sarcastic needles.
“Miss Lisa, your master is resting. Please watch your words.”
Lisa sneered: "Fang Shu, you really are an obedient dog, singing in my ear, just trying to stop me from seeing Brother Wu, right? What I hate most in my life is being forced. There's nothing I can't do if I want to do it. If I'm not allowed to see Brother Wu today, I absolutely will not leave."
Seeing that Lisa refused to leave, Fang Shu frowned.
The arguing downstairs must have already alerted the owners.
At this moment, Aunt Xue came out of the kitchen.
His gaze first fell on Lisa, who was looking furious.
Then their gaze shifted to Bai Qianmo.
She was cooking in the kitchen when she heard the argument outside.
She understood this scene; it was clearly a scenario of rivals meeting.
However, compared to Lisa, whom she met for the first time, Aunt Xue had a much better impression of Bai Qianmo.
This beautiful and arrogant young lady is simply not suitable for Mr. Gu.
Even a fool could tell who is more suitable for Mr. Gu.
Miss Bai is quiet and reserved, doesn't talk much, and seems aloof and cold, but she is actually polite and courteous to people and never looks down on anyone.
Judging from Fang Shu's attitude just now, this Miss Lisa has been living the life of a young lady for a long time, surrounded by servants, which has gradually instilled in her a sense of superiority.
That's why they resort to the most vicious verbal attacks when dealing with magic techniques.
Aunt Xue walked straight past Lisa and headed towards Bai Qianmo.
"Miss Bai, Mr. Gu's porridge is ready. Please serve it to him while it's still hot."
Bai Qianmo reached out and took the tray.
Aunt Xue smiled and said, "Mr. Gu would be very happy if he knew that you cooked this porridge for him yourself."
After saying that, he didn't forget to give Lisa a disapproving look.
She had already been thoroughly annoyed by Bai Qianmo and Fang Shu, and was now being looked down upon by a servant at the research institute.
Lisa exploded like a lit firecracker!
She glanced angrily at the bowl of plain porridge.
"What is this? Fifth Brother is sick and weak, and needs some nutritious food. Bai Qianmo, you just cooked a pot of plain porridge to appease him? Humph, this bowl of porridge shows that you don't care about Fifth Brother at all. You're only clinging to him to use his power to get more of the material life you want. You are such a hypocritical and vicious woman."
Bai Qianmo glanced at Lisa with her cool eyes.
"Don't you know that plain porridge is good for the stomach? Fifth Brother has a stomach problem. If he doesn't eat for a day, his stomach is easily irritated by food and will cause pain. So now the best thing for him is to drink some liquid food."
