Didi
Su Peishan drove her car over and honked the horn twice.
Bai Qianmo glanced around, but she could no longer sense the presence of that thing.
Walk to the front of the car and sit in the passenger seat.
What were you spacing out about just now?
"It's nothing." The less Sister Su knows about these things, the safer she is.
After Su Peishan drove away, a paper doll staggered out from the corner. Its face was painted with big eyes in black ink, a small nose, and bright red lips painted with vermilion. Two round red circles were painted on its cheeks.
The paper figure is as tall as an adult's arm, with two black paper buns on either side of its head, and wears a paper outfit made of red, yellow, and blue.
At that moment, it stared in the direction the car had gone and let out a series of giggles before disappearing in a flash.
As the car drove along the road, Bai Qianmo kept thinking about this.
She was certain that something was following her, but she couldn't sense any human presence.
The more I think about it, the stranger it seems.
"Sister Su, let's not go to my grandfather's house first. Why don't you take me to the place of the spirits?"
As the holy maiden of the wizard clan, Yinling is more knowledgeable about strange and unusual things than she is, so perhaps we can get some information from her.
Su Peishan was a little puzzled as to why Bai Qianmo suddenly changed her route, but she didn't ask any further questions.
The car changed direction on the road, and about half an hour later, it slowly stopped in front of an apartment building.
Bai Qianmo had already called Yin Ling while she was in the car.
After getting off the bus, I went straight to the seventeenth floor.
Upon arriving at the spirit's home, I rang the doorbell, and shortly after, someone came to open the door.
The door opened, revealing someone with disheveled hair and sleepy eyes.
"What do you want?" She knew very well that her junior sister wouldn't come looking for her unless there was something wrong.
"You're still sleeping at this hour?" Bai Qianmo walked into the living room.
Yinling took a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet in the entryway and placed them beside Bai Qianmo's feet.
Bai Qianmo took off her shoes, put on slippers, and walked into the living room as if she knew the way well.
The spirit squinted and went to the bathroom. A moment later, it heard the sound of running water coming from inside.
I washed my face and casually tied my long, wavy hair into a low ponytail. I felt much more refreshed.
"I just got off the plane this morning and I'm still jet-lagged."
Bai Qianmo walked to the sofa and sat down: "You're on a mission?"
The spirit paused, its eyes flashing rapidly.
"No, I just went back to Country Y to take care of some personal business. What's wrong?"
Bai Qianmo noticed the flickering gaze of the spirit and knew that it didn't want to tell her where it was going.
“I’ve been feeling like I’m being followed by something lately. Since you’re from the wizarding clan, I thought I’d come and ask you about it.”
"Things? Not people?"
Bai Qianmo shook her head: "I didn't sense any human presence. I'm sure it wasn't a living creature. But it must have been very fast. I could sense its presence whether I was at home, at the office, or attending an event."
The spirit frowned, deep in thought.
An inanimate object, yet with extremely high speed.
"Does the wizarding race have similar methods?"
Yin Ling thought for a moment: "There is a similar method, but this spell has been lost for a long time. I only heard my master mention it. More than a hundred years ago, the wizard clan had a kind of witchcraft called 'Soul Summoning Spell'. The wizard controlled the consciousness of the dead and imprisoned it in a paper doll. After nurturing it with human blood for many years, the paper doll would be controlled at will by the wizard who nurtured it. This kind of paper doll can fly and disappear into the ground at an extremely fast speed."
"However, more than a hundred years ago, the entire wizard tribe suffered a massacre. This witchcraft requires a very deep level of skill. The entire wizard tribe only had this witchcraft, which was practiced by the wizard elders. After she died in that massacre, this 'soul-summoning spell' completely disappeared for a hundred years."
