Right and wrong have long been difficult to distinguish.
Duan Ye and Luo An chatted for a while, then got back to their respective tasks.
By the afternoon, the rain had stopped and the sky had cleared.
After finishing his own business, Duan Ye rushed to pick up his child from kindergarten.
At the kindergarten gate.
As soon as Duan Ye arrived, he saw the teacher holding Duan Chen and Duan Luo's hands and waiting at the door.
The two people were kicking pebbles with their heads down.
All the children have left.
Duan Ye immediately felt a pang of heartache: "Luo Luo, Chen Chen."
Duan Luo and Duan Chen quickly looked up, and their eyes lit up when they saw Duan Ye.
"Dad!" the two children exclaimed in unison and ran straight over.
Duan Ye picked up the child immediately: "I'm sorry, Daddy is late. Daddy promises that he won't be late next time, okay?"
"good!"
Duan Chen: "Dad, we are so happy that you came to pick us up."
Duan Luo: "Yes, yes, I want my dad to pick me up the most."
Duan Ye smiled and pinched his darling girl's chubby little face: "Don't Mommy want it?"
Duan Luo: "Of course I miss him, but right now I miss my dad the most."
Duan Luo's words immediately made Duan Ye laugh, and now the storm had truly passed.
"Come on, say goodbye to the teacher, let's go home, Mom is home."
The two children obediently said goodbye to their teacher, then each took one of Duan Ye's hands and skipped home in the sunset.
Duan Luo: "Dad, can you come pick us up every time from now on?"
Duan Ye: "Dad promises you, I'll pick you up whenever I have time, okay?"
Duan Chen: "What if you're busy?"
"Mom can come even if she's busy, or Grandma can come, okay?"
"OK."
"Dad, you're so good."
Duan Chen: "It's really great to have a dad. No one will call us wild kids anymore."
Duan Luo, though young, was shrewd enough to nod thoughtfully, "Yes!"
Upon hearing this, Duan Ye felt even more guilty towards the children.
