Unrequited love
Zhu Shiyi paused for two seconds.
She said, feeling wronged, "Win him over."
"That's right!" Vicky snapped her fingers. "Listen to me, you have to send some cute emojis, like puppies, kittens, and pandas. Get lots of those chibi versions, they're so adorable, he'll be completely charmed by you!"
She continued scrolling upwards.
“Not bad,” Vicky finally smiled genuinely. “He even ordered you some juice? It’s quite sweet.”
Zhu Shiyi smiled shyly: "Yes! I think we're already..."
She shrugged, twisted her body, then suddenly looked up and laughed out loud: "That's pretty ambiguous!"
"We've already had meals together several times."
Vicky stopped looking at her phone and asked, "You went on a date?"
"Was it a date?" Zhu Shiyi scratched his head. "Maybe. When we ate together, I kept stealing glances at him."
So cool!
Zhu Shiyi bit her lip and smiled, looking as if it were worthless.
"And I have a secret technique!" Zhu Shiyi was already immersed in his own fantasy, "I can make sure he can't tell at all that I'm spying on him!"
Vicky raised her eyebrows and stared blankly.
This kid is probably a little slow-witted.
"I can't tell..." Vicky chuckled awkwardly, "What's so good about it?"
"Well," Zhu Shiyi said anxiously, pacing around in circles, "thankfully, it's not noticeable!"
“What kind of benefit is this?” Vicky’s eyes were strange. “You have to find a way to make him realize it!”
Zhu Shiyi stared blankly: "Then it's all over?"
“Not necessarily. There are two paths,” Vicky said, counting on her fingers. “First, he likes you too, and you two get together; second, he doesn’t like you, so give up early and find someone else to save time.”
"What if he starts to like me as we chat?" Zhu Shiyi caught the bug. "If he didn't like me when we first started chatting, but I let him know how I felt, wouldn't he stop talking to me?"
“Little girl,” Vicky poked Zhu Shiyi’s face, “Men are visual creatures. They value first impressions. They may not like someone at first sight, but the first glance can definitely determine whether they are willing to develop a relationship with someone.”
“Besides, people always like things that have a result,” Vicky said. “So you have to show some signs that you like him, so that he will take the initiative and be willing to keep talking to you.”
Zhu Shiyi half-understood, but it seemed to make some sense: "So you're saying we should go straight for the ball? I wouldn't dare!"
“You don’t necessarily have to say it outright. You can tease him a little,” Vicky said with a smirk. “In the adult world, there’s no such thing as unrequited love. You have to seduce him.”
“For example, this area,” she said, looking down and swiping to a chat area, “he asks if you’ve been drinking, you can say that.”
Vicky gently stroked Zhu Shiyi's cheek and said softly, "I did drink a little, and I'm a bit tipsy. Someone suddenly came to mind."
Zhu Shiyi smiled shyly: "It's me!"
Vicky patted Zhu Shiyi and burst out laughing.
Zhu Shiyi playfully tried to avoid her, saying, "But I feel... this is too much, I can't say it!"
“It’s okay,” Vicky advised. “He’ll definitely ask you who this person is. At that moment, don’t reply immediately and leave him wondering. Then, after a while, start a new topic and pretend nothing happened.”
Vicky clapped her hands: "That way, he'll definitely be unable to resist asking you out."
Learning without thinking is futile. Zhu Shiyi asked earnestly, "What if he doesn't ask me out?"
“Then you should ask him out,” Vicky said, fiddling with her fingers and laughing teasingly, “and then…make some physical contact.”
Zhu Shiyi grinned wickedly as he pictured Pan Yue's eight-pack abs.
Boys need to protect themselves when they're out, especially handsome guys. If they can't protect themselves, she'll definitely lend a helping hand like an angel, supporting the handsome guy's abs and protecting him.
“Enjoy the ambiguity,” Vicky patted Zhu Shiyi. “This is the most fun part of dating.”
...
Considering his image in front of Zhong Qi, Zhu Shiyi found himself a pretext.
After completing the task assigned by Zhong Qi, she printed out the documents and took them to Zhong Qi's office: "Sister Qi, here are the documents you requested."
Zhong Qi glanced at it: "Thank you, not bad, very efficient."
That's right, she deliberately finished it at a normal speed.
One of my internship experiences: It's best to submit your work assignments before the deadline, and pretend to be working very hard so that your supervisor thinks you have a very full workload.
Those who are capable do more work but receive less reward, so it's better to work slower since the salary is the same anyway.
"Thank you, Sister Qi," Zhu Shiyi thought to herself, but her words remained serious. "Sister Qi, I've been thinking about it. I'm here for an internship because I really want to learn something. You said before that I could come to you if I had any questions, right?"
Zhong Qi turned slightly to the side, resting his chin on his elbows on the table: "Go on."
Zhu Shiyi stepped forward and handed over another document: "It's the information about the new project you sent me. I took a look and found it very interesting, but I know my abilities are limited and I really can't participate. So I used my lunch break to write a product marketing plan outline and would like to ask for your guidance."
Zhong Qi took it and looked at it for a few dozen seconds: "The outline is in the right direction, but these are just the most basic parts. If you want to improve further, you need to write it in more detail."
Zhu Shiyi: !
Damn it, we've got a job.
With the leader's words already stated, she had no room for negotiation: "I will write it carefully once I receive it, Sister Qi."
...
Zhu Shiyi is the kind of person who feels uncomfortable if there's a mission hanging in the balance.
With the New Year's Day holiday approaching, Zhu Shiyi didn't want to spend it with a mission, so she focused on studying the planning proposal.
Fortunately, this task involves writing a proposal, not creating an SPSS application. She's studied data for tens of thousands of years and only understands the basics; just looking at it annoys her.
She has experience in planning, and her Christmas event and video marketing were quite successful.
After listening to the daily report that evening, Pan Yue first affirmed her planning outline before asking another question: "Is the marketing department going to assign you to work on this plan?"
Zhu Shiyi offered his opinion: "No, I just write by myself, I want to learn more."
Pan Yue definitely didn't trust her abilities.
That's normal, though. She's just an intern, so it's understandable that her boss doesn't trust her.
But everyone wants to shine brighter in front of the person they like.
After two and a half days of writing the plan on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Zhu Shiyi finally completed a complete proposal.
During that time, she didn't even pay much attention to romance.
On Friday afternoon, she confidently sent the file to Zhong Qi.
Zhu Shiyi: [Sorry to bother you, Sister Qi, this is the proposal I prepared.]
Zhong Qi: [Received, will reply after reading.]
After finishing work on Friday, it's time for the New Year's Day holiday. The office is filled with the joy and excitement of the holiday.
Zhu Shiyi, feeling perfectly justified, started slacking off again, pooling his money with Vicky to pay for delivery and ordering milk tea.
I've finished a task, I should reward myself!
Life is nothing more than eating, drinking, and having sex.
When you're happy, besides satisfying your taste buds, you also need to satisfy your estrogen levels.
I can meet Pan Yue again tonight, and the New Year's Day holiday starts tomorrow. So, can I think of a reason to ask Pan Yue out on New Year's Day?
......
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating.
Outside the window, a long-awaited downpour began.
The milk tea took a long time to arrive.
But Zhong Qi's reply was not received for a long time.
"With a project plan written like this, the analysis is incomplete, and the budget is unreasonable, how can I approve it? Even if I approve it, will the higher-ups approve it?"
......
Qin Yu emerged from Zhong Qi's office looking disheveled.
Zhu Shiyi panicked.
Two hours have passed since the proposal was submitted.
Zhong Qi hasn't replied to her yet.
Zhong Qi is a workaholic with extremely high efficiency. Based on past experience, Zhong Qi can definitely review the proposal and reply within an hour.
My colleague just got criticized!
Qin Yu was a senior employee, much more experienced than her, but she still got scolded.
Zhu Shiyi suddenly realized his mistake.
A project proposal you write yourself might just be a mess.
The few scraps of paper she wrote were probably so rotten that Zhong Qi couldn't be bothered to even bother with them.
"Shiyi," Qin Yu approached with a gloomy face, "Sister Qi is calling you."
Zhu Shiyi felt a chill run down his spine: "Is it my turn to be criticized?"
Qin Yu smiled bitterly and gave him a sympathetic look: "Keep it up."
......
"Sister Qi." Zhu Shiyi deliberately closed the office door tightly, hoping that fewer people would hear about this tragedy.
She walked right into the trap and was about to face a barrage of insults.
Zhong Qi hummed in agreement, then fell silent.
Zhu Shiyi stood with his hands behind his back, twisting his fingers, and secretly glanced up.
Zhong Qi frowned, staring at the computer screen without looking at her.
Zhu Shiyi was thunderstruck. She racked her brains for a better way to phrase it: "Um... Sister Qi, I know my plan wasn't good. I'll go down and revise it."
“No,” Zhong Qi glanced sideways and curled her lips slightly, “It’s fine.”
"Really!" Zhu Shiyi's eyes immediately lit up and she grinned.
Zhong Qi glanced at them, his brow twitching slightly.
Zhu Shiyi shut up in a second.
She's so stupid, she has no sense of propriety at all. She actually believed what her boss said when he was being sarcastic.
Look at the leader's smile, it's sinister, does it look like he's praising her?
“Really,” Zhong Qi nodded, “the event plan is well written.”
My heart started pounding again.
Zhu Shiyi dared not make any rash moves: "Without Sister Qi, I know I haven't done well."
“Then tell me,” Zhong Qi tapped the table, “what did you do wrong?”
Zhu Shiyi was dazed.
She thought she had done a good job; is that something to be said?
Her planning outline was approved by both Zhong Qi and Pan Yue, and Pan Yue even gave her detailed suggestions. She felt that her general direction was correct.
"...Regarding the implementation plan," Zhu Shiyi seized on a detail and made up a sentence, "I lack experience, so I didn't do a good job in this area; it wasn't detailed enough."
Zhong Qi sipped his saliva, remaining noncommittal: "Anything else?"
Zhu Shiyi pursed her lips tightly, trying hard not to wrinkle her face.
"Smack!"
The thermos cup was suddenly slammed on the table.
Zhong Qi's voice was slightly cold: "Let me tell you."
“Project background analysis,” Zhong Qi said, swiping through the document, “Industry trends, social hotspots, STP.”
"None of them will work."
Zhu Shiyi stood to the side, head down.
"What is your target market? Young people, middle-to-high-income young families? What does 'young' mean? What income level qualifies as middle-to-high income? How are these defined? Why did you choose this target market? What are your reasons?"
“Creative planning,” Zhong Qi grunted, “tell me, what is a marketing plan? What exactly does creative planning involve planning?”
Zhu Shiyi didn't dare to utter a sound.
“Product, price, promotion, place,” Zhong Qi spoke at breakneck speed, “Do I really need to teach you these basic things? Look at what you’ve done! Your creative proposals are all about events. Do you think a marketing plan is the same as a promotional plan? And a promotional plan is the same as an event plan? Get it straight, are they the same thing?”
Zhu Shiyi was dumbfounded.
Of course she knows about 4P.
However, she genuinely thought that a marketing plan was essentially the same as an event plan.
To be honest, if Zhong Qi hadn't mentioned it, she would never have thought that marketing plans and event plans were two different concepts.
“And the communications plan,” Zhong Qi frowned, “I only want to see the spreadsheet. Are you expecting me to find everything myself by cramming it all together?”
"Where's the budget, the price list, the cost breakdown? You're just throwing in a round number right away, isn't that ridiculous?"
"The execution plan has so much content, and your team only needs six people? Are you a super team?"
