Go to the cake shop to find memories
Standing in the data stream of the system space, Lu Yin lightly touched the coordinates of "Cake Shop" flashing on the screen. This was a place Lan Yi used to bring her to two years ago. Back then, he would always order a strawberry mousse, use a fork to pick up the strawberry on top and feed it to her, smiling and saying, "The way you eat strawberries is like a little deer." But now, the shop is on the verge of closing down due to poor management, becoming a forgotten corner of the city.
A system notification sounded: "Target Lan Yi's emotional value is 15%, key memory point locked. The host must complete the 'Cake Shop Memory Awakening' task within 72 hours, otherwise the emotional value will drop to zero." Lu Yin clenched her fists. She knew this was the last chance to untangle Lan Yi's knot in his heart.
Lu Yin pushed open the weathered wooden door of the cake shop, the wind chimes tinkling softly. A faint aroma of cream filled the air, and in an old photograph hanging on the wall, Lan Yi was smiling as he handed her a strawberry mousse. She ordered the same cake and sat in their usual corner.
"Miss, your strawberry mousse." The waiter's voice pulled Lu Yin back to reality. She picked up a strawberry with her fork, but suddenly heard a familiar voice behind her: "How...how did you know I liked this?"
Lu Yin turned around and saw Lan Yi standing at the door, holding a bag of strawberries. His eyes held shock and a hint of barely perceptible panic. A system notification sounded: "Emotional value +10%, target enters memory state."
Lan Yi approached and sat down opposite Lu Yin, his gaze falling on the strawberry mousse in front of her. "Two years ago, I would come here every day to buy a strawberry mousse and wait for you to get off work," he said softly. "Back then, you always said that strawberries were a symbol of love, that two hearts were connected."
Lu Yin's heart raced, and she asked softly, "And then what happened? Why did you become like this?"
Lan Yi was silent for a moment, then took out a yellowed note from his pocket. It read, "If one day I become indifferent, please wake me up with strawberry mousse." It was a note he had secretly slipped into her bag two years ago, before the car accident. After the accident, he lost part of his memory, only remembering that he had to become indifferent in order to protect her from harm.
"I... I was afraid you would be disappointed if you saw me like this," Lan Yi's voice trembled slightly, "so I chose to leave."
Tears streamed down Lu Yin's face as she suddenly grasped Lan Yi's hand. "Lan Yi, I'm back. This time, I won't leave you alone again." She picked up a fork and held the strawberry mousse to his lips. "Take a bite, just like two years ago."
A hint of hesitation flashed in Lan Yi's eyes, but in the end, he opened his mouth.
"It would be better if he could be more confident in himself."
The system notification sounded: "Emotional value +25%, target memory restored 70%." Tears welled up in Lan Yi's eyes as he hugged Lu Yin tightly: "I'm sorry, I... have been waiting for you all this time."
A few months later, Lu Yin and Lan Yi returned to the cake shop. The difference was that it had been completely renovated; the walls were covered with their photos, and a plaque read: "The Story of Strawberry Mousse and Love."
Lu Yin ordered a strawberry mousse, and Lan Yi, just like two years ago, fed her the top strawberry. She smiled and bit into the strawberry, the sweetness spreading on her tongue, just like their love, sweet and lasting.
