Chapter 36: A difficult marriage to manage.

Chapter 36: A difficult marriage to manage.

"You shuddered? Your boyfriend touched you and you shuddered?"

Shen Qingqing sat on the coffee table, watching TV while talking on the phone with Sun Ziyi. She was speechless.

Shen Xue handed over a plate of peeled pomegranates and placed it in front of Shen Qingqing before running to the TV to wipe the TV cabinet.

Sun Ziyi said, "Yeah, I felt an inexplicable chill!"

Shen Qingqing was about to speak, but considering Shen Xue was there, she walked into the bedroom and closed the door.

Chen Qingqing said, "You two haven't done anything yet, have you? Your boyfriend touches you and you act like this. Are you crazy?"

Shen Qingqing said the latter part in a joking tone, but she didn't expect Sun Ziyi to say seriously, "I also think there is something wrong with me... I'm at an age where I just fell in love for the first time, but I can't stand being touched on the head..."

This time it was Shen Qingqing's turn to be quiet. She didn't know what to say. Being at ease in love was a talent, not a gift. She fell in love early, and had a crush on the monitor of the class next door since she was just a girl.

Lying in bed, Chen Qingqing wanted to recall her first love, but unfortunately, she couldn't remember it at all because it was too long ago. The love in her childhood was very much like children playing house, where everyone would say a few words to each other and then make a childish vow to grow old together.

She thought back to her naive love after she grew up a little. It was when she was in high school. She was learning a special skill and had to go to the broadcasting class in the library every afternoon. There was a sports student with long arms and legs who came to wait for her after class every day, bought her Lawson chicken skewers, and invited her to walk around the playground. They did this for half a year.

She could only remember that the other person's name contained the character "Yu".

She and Yu hadn't talked about anything particularly profound for half a year. Back then, she was still called Shen Yanyan, and her close friends all called her Yanyan, but Yu always called her by her full name. When her art exam was approaching, she had to go to Beijing for the exam and lose weight rapidly. Shen Qiwen enrolled her in a training institution in Beijing for a few months. After packing her luggage, Shen Qingqing thought about it and decided to ask Yu out for a walk. The two met at the train station and took the 101 for a few stops. Yu suddenly turned to look at her and said, "Shen Yanyan, let's go downstairs and take a walk."

It was already evening, and the two of them walked along the hilly streets of Dalian, chatting sporadically about where she would live after going to Beijing. Yu had never been to Beijing, so she quietly listened to Shen Qingqing say that at that time, Shen Yanyan had lost weight to prepare for the art exam and was irritable. She wanted to curse after walking for a long time, but Yu suddenly took her hand and said, "Don't be so impatient, Shen Yanyan. We don't know when we will walk together next time."

Chen Qingqing said, "But I can't walk anymore," and Yu said, "I'll carry you on my back."

So she chatted with him on her back, told him about her troubles, and smiled as if she had no worries at all.

If a camera was installed on the next slope, it would definitely be able to record the two people walking together, the boy carrying the girl on his back, the two of them slowly sticking their heads out, with the setting sun following behind them.

It was like something out of a Japanese drama, and in the end the two of them walked to the door of a small izakaya.

Shen Qingqing put her arm around his neck and said, “Come on, I’ll treat you to a drink.”

Chen Qingqing said she wanted to treat the other party to a drink, and ordered a bottle of izakaya for over 800 yuan. In the end, she drank too much and lay on the tatami with her eyes closed. Then she heard the sound of the sliding door. She opened her eyes and found that Yu walked out wearing wooden clogs from a Japanese restaurant. She turned over and looked at him with one eye. The izakaya was very small. She saw the boy hurriedly take out money from his pocket, wrinkled his hands, counted out the bills one by one and handed them to the bar.

She had wanted to rush out to pay the bill, but seeing the other person's awkward look, she couldn't bear to expose him. After the other person paid the bill, she closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. When she heard the sound of the door being opened again, Shen Qingqing opened her eyes, and the other person just happened to reach over and touch her face to see if it was hot.

Shen Qingqing stretched out her hand and wrapped it around his neck, just like when he carried her on his back.

A wet kiss.

Shen Qingqing opened the door and walked to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water. The room was very tidy. Shen Xue went out to apply for a temporary residence permit.

She leaned against the counter holding a glass of water and thought, I'm thirty years old now, and I'm actually spending an entire afternoon reminiscing about the love I had at seventeen.

When she got married, she heard from high school classmates that Yu Hou seemed to be running his own business, becoming a fairly ordinary businessman. He had a junior college degree and had already had a daughter when she got married. Did Yu Hou sell rebar? Or hardware? Chen Qingqing only remembered the word "gold." Perhaps it was gold. All teenagers eventually strive to make a living and become flexible adults. If someone says a man has a youthful character, then he must be a hardened, omnipotent person, but also naive.

The door clicked, and Wang Shu opened the door and walked in. Although he only missed his ex in his mind, Shen Qingqing was still stunned, even blushing a little, and asked, "Why are you back so early on Wednesday?"

Wang Shu took off his shoes and came in. "I've been so busy lately. I just finished a meeting and wanted to go home and lie down."

Wang Shu then asked, "Is there any food? I'm a little hungry. The meeting lasted until two o'clock. They ordered a simple lunch, but I don't like it."

Shen Qingqing put down the cup, turned around and opened the refrigerator, and saw that it was full of vegetables that Shen Xue had sorted into categories.

Shen Qingqing heated a cup of milk for him and said, "I'll make you some rice. Sister Shen Xue just went downstairs to get a temporary residence permit. I'll cook for you when she comes back."

Wang Shu hummed, looking at Chen Qingqing's bare wrist, "Why don't you ever wear the watch I bought for you? You didn't wear it the last time you went back to Dalian either."

Shen Qingqing said, "I'm afraid my dad will say we're wasting money."

Of course, the reason was not this. Shen Qiwen and Wang Shu each had their own concerns. Wang Shu wanted to hear Shen Qiwen praise Shen Qingqing's "new watch", but in fact, Shen Qiwen knew by heart what kind of watches Shen Qingqing had. He would not think it was new when he saw it, but would instead cause some unnecessary trouble.

As soon as Shen Qingqing's meal was cooked, Shen Xue walked in and said as she opened the door, "Beijing's community service attitude is quite good. It's not as scary as people say. Yanyan, I was afraid that they would refuse, but I didn't expect it to be done right after I went there. Haha."

Shen Xue didn't see Wang Shu when she was talking, and thought she was just chatting with her sister. But when she turned around, she saw Wang Shu sitting on the sofa.

Shen Xue was stunned for a moment and said, "Oh, my brother-in-law is back too."

Wang Shu also nodded politely to Shen Xue. "Have you got your temporary residence permit ready, sister?"

Shen Xue hurriedly said, "Okay, okay, have you eaten? I'll make you something to eat."

Wang Shu said, "Qingqing is doing it, you can go and help."

Shen Xue nodded and turned to look for Shen Qingqing.

The two women gathered in the kitchen, and Shen Xue said to Shen Qingqing, "Your husband looks intimidating without even getting angry. Every time I see him, I have to straighten my attitude before speaking." Shen Qingqing smiled, "Wang Shu just doesn't like to laugh like our relatives do. He's still very close to us, sister."

"Oh, that sister does know." Shen Xue said. "By the way, I found the Jingkelong downstairs is really great. It actually sells clothes. I bought two small shirts for my mother-in-law and my mother. They're out of season, and each one only cost a few dozen yuan."

Shen Qingqing smiled, "Okay then? There are many off-season discounts, so you can just send them by express delivery when the time comes."

Shen Xue asked, "Where is the express delivery station?"

"You don't need a courier station, you can just order door-to-door service and they'll come and pick it up right at your door."

Shen Xue exclaimed, "That's great! Big cities are so developed. In our village, we always have to go to the supermarket to pick up our packages."

Shen Qingqing took out her cell phone and sent her home address to Shen Xue. "I've sent you the address."

Shen Xue smiled and snatched the vegetables from her hand and picked them herself. "Go out, it will be ready in ten minutes."

Shen Qingqing was pushed out by Shen Xue.

Shen Xue quickly brought out two dishes, one stir-fried rapeseed and one beef.

Shen Xue invited Wang Shu to come and eat, then quickly went to the sofa to pick up the coat that Wang Shu had just placed on the sofa.

I was holding the coat and unfolding it when something suddenly fell out.

Chen Qingqing, who was eating fruit by the coffee table, saw an ID card lying upside down on the floor. She picked it up and put it on the coffee table. When she lifted it up, she saw Wang Shu's mother on it.

Without even thinking, Shen Qingqing asked, "Why is your mother's ID card with you? What can I use it for in Inner Mongolia?"

Wang Shu paused while picking up the food.

"Wang Shu?" Shen Qingqing called out again.

Wang Shu thought about it, but couldn't tell a lie that was too far-fetched, so he said, "They came to Beijing yesterday. I checked them in, but I forgot to return their ID cards to them."

But he was still lying.

Shen Qingqing slammed her ID card on the coffee table.

Shen Qingqing "How could I not know? Your mother came to Beijing carrying her daughter-in-law on her back, right? And she stayed in a hotel? Isn't there enough room in our house?"

Wang Shu said, "They wanted to live with their youngest son, but there was no room for them after Wang Meng arrived."

Shen Qingqing didn't understand. "Then why did you hide it from me? You should at least say hello. My parents-in-law came, but you didn't even see them and stayed in a hotel."

Wang Shu said, "I didn't hide it from you. I was just too busy these past two days and forgot to tell you."

Shen Qingqing asked, "Why are you so busy? You all went home early today."

Wang Shu had a headache because no matter what he said, he was lying.

Shen Qingqing took out her cell phone and called her mother-in-law. The call was quickly connected and Shen Qingqing pressed the hands-free button.

Shen Qingqing: "Mom, what are you busy with recently?"

The other party thought for a moment and said, "I'm not busy at all. I've been busy buying seeds and planting the land these past two days."

Shen Qingqing looked at Wang Shu with a gloomy face.

Shen Qingqing said again, "Mom, how's the weather in Inner Mongolia these two days?"

The other person said, "It's pretty good. Although the snow hasn't melted, the sun is shining brightly."

Shen Qingqing asked again, "What about Wang Mang? How is your brother doing recently?"

The other party said, "I will return to Beijing after the Chinese New Year. School will start soon."

Shen Qingqing took a deep breath and looked at Wang Shu, her eyes full of tears.

Shen Qingqing said, "It's okay, Mom. I just wanted to ask how you've been lately. It's just the New Year, so you should have a good rest."

Shen Xue had already avoided it and entered the room.

After Shen Qingqing hung up the phone, she sat opposite Wang Shu. "Tell me, what do you think?"

Wang Shu put down his bowl, reached out, and scratched the scar on his head. "My mom saw it on video and insisted on coming to Beijing to take care of me. I was afraid you'd think too much, since it was my grandfather who caused it, after all."

Shen Qingqing was stunned. She, who had been in the right, was immediately at a disadvantage.

She felt annoyed and said, "You are really good at avoiding the important issues, aren't you?"

Wang Shu suddenly got angry. "What do you mean by avoiding the important and focusing on the trivial? Am I going to let you watch my mother apply medicine to me every day? Chen Qingqing, what will you do?"

Wang Shu suddenly stood up, walked into the kitchen, and waved to Chen Qingqing, "Come here."

Shen Qingqing walked over angrily, and Wang Shu slammed the door.

"Let's have a frank chat today."

Shen Qingqing sneered, “Let me see what you can come up with.”

Wang Shu secretly said, "After marrying you, I feel like I've been living under your father's shadow. Don't always think that any problems between us are my fault. Your father said he wanted to work in our company during the Chinese New Year. Do you think he was joking? He just wanted to see his son-in-law, right?"

Shen Qingqing was shocked by his attitude and was speechless. "My dad was just joking, how could he really go?"

Wang Shu smiled coldly, "I'm not kidding. Your father later gave up this decision because Shen Xue came. He just wanted to have an eye to watch you and me. Shen Qingqing, do you think the whole world is as innocent as you? I know what your father is thinking."

Wang Shu added, "You are already 30 years old, and your father still clings to you. Your son-in-law and daughter are both in charge of you."

Wang Shu said, "Just wait tonight. If you don't tell your dad anything, will he call you and ask indirectly what your parents-in-law are doing?"

Wang Shu said, "Don't think you're always right. Marriage is a matter between two people, and there's never a one-sided tango. I've always felt you were younger, so I've always given in. But calling my mother like that is incredibly rude. When she finds out the truth, how are you going to get along?"

Shen Qingqing trembled all over after hearing what Wang Shu said. Wang Shu added, "Think carefully about what I said. Don't always think that you are a victim. If you do this, you will never grow."

Shen Qingqing was furious at what Wang Shu said. She picked up something nearby and threw it at Wang Shu. "Get lost and go stay in your mother's hotel."
