On the way there, Dongfang Jinyao's mood gradually calmed down, and she began to carefully examine Qin Luo.
Seeing his handsome face and deep, bright eyes, he was focused on getting there, his brows slightly furrowed, which made him look even more determined.
As if sensing her gaze, Qin Luo slightly turned his head, a faint smile playing on his lips:
"Miss, is there something wrong with my face?"
Dongfang Jinyao turned her head away as if to hide her embarrassment:
"Who's looking at you? I'm just wondering what this white mist is. After all, I've never heard of such a strange thing that can both heal the body and block perception across realms."
Seeing this, Qin Luo smiled without saying a word, and did not continue to tease, but his speed did not slow down at all.
Before long, the two gradually approached the assertion.
Qin Luo slowed down, while cautiously observing the surrounding movements.
After sensing her surroundings and finding that Aunt Hua's senses did not reach this area, Dongfang Jinyao broke free from his embrace, straightened her clothes, glared at Qin Luo with a hint of resentment, and then stood side by side with him.
Dongfang Jinyao took out a round jade ring, and then said excitedly:
"Saintly relics, hehe, my sister hid them so well, but I still managed to find them secretly..."
With a flick of her wrist, she tossed the jade ring straight down the cliff. Then, glancing discreetly at Qin Luo out of the corner of her eye, she caught him off guard and suddenly kicked him in the back, muttering something under her breath:
"You dare to hug me, huh!" she said, and then jumped down herself.
This sudden turn of events startled Qin Luo, who stared wide-eyed. Before he could react, his body began to fall uncontrollably toward the cliff.
He had a bad feeling in his heart and quickly circulated his spiritual energy to stabilize himself during the fall.
Dongfang Jinyao skillfully used the airflow to adjust her posture in the air, gliding rapidly towards the bottom of the cliff.
A thin layer of mist hung over the bottom of the cliff, exuding a desolate atmosphere. Qin Luo finally managed to steady himself, only to find Dongfang Jinyao watching him with a sly look not far away.
He shook his head helplessly:
"Young lady, what do you mean by this? Why did you suddenly kick me off the cliff?"
Dongfang Jinyao crossed her arms, a smug smile on her face, and laughed crisply:
"Consider this a small lesson for your impolite and disrespectful behavior towards me before. But don't worry, since I brought you here, I certainly won't harm you. There's a great opportunity here, so stay close."
With that, she turned and flew towards the jade ring that had fallen into the depths of the mist. Qin Luo gave a wry smile and could only follow in her footsteps.
Until the jade ring gracefully floated down to the bottom of the cliff, it shattered without warning in an instant, turning into countless glittering fragments that flew in all directions.
At the same time, the thin, tranquil mist at the bottom of the cliff stopped drifting and instead surged and gathered wildly around the broken jade ring. In an instant, a deep, dark vortex entrance appeared before the two of them.
Upon witnessing this scene, a hint of undisguised surprise flashed in Dongfang Jinyao's eyes. With a slight movement, she unhesitatingly used her exquisite movement technique to fly into the vortex.
Although Qin Luo had doubts, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and follow along since things had come to this point.
Upon entering the vortex, light flickered all around, and the wind howled in his ears. Qin Luo kept his eyes fixed on Dongfang Jinyao's figure ahead, afraid of losing her in the chaos.
A moment later, the view opened up before them, revealing a vast and desolate space. Beneath their feet lay earth radiating a faint glow, and all around stood strangely shaped buildings, some towering into the clouds, others resembling giant beasts, all exuding an ancient and rustic aura.
"This is the ruins of a sage. It doesn't seem strange at all, just a bit eerie."
Dongfang Jinyao looked around excitedly, muttering to herself.
Feeling the atmosphere here, Qin Luo frowned and suddenly said:
"Young lady, something seems amiss here!"
Hearing this, Dongfang Jinyao waved her hand dismissively:
"What are you afraid of? With me here, I will definitely protect you."
Unexpectedly, the next moment, she seemed to sense something was wrong; she couldn't feel any spiritual energy here! Dongfang Jinyao's smile instantly froze, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes, but she still forced herself to remain calm and said:
"This may only be temporary. The relics of a saint have their unique features. Shall we go deeper and take a look?"
Qin Luo ignored her uncertain words, cautiously squatted down, and placed his palm on the soil that emitted a faint glow.
After a moment, he stood up, his expression grave:
“The spiritual energy here is not naturally scarce. We can’t proceed rashly any longer; we need to figure out the situation first.”
"Moreover, I feel that the spiritual energy within my dantian is gradually dissipating..."
Upon hearing this, Dongfang Jinyao was startled and subconsciously examined her own Qi Sea. She discovered that, just as Qin Luo had said, the spiritual energy in her body was flowing away at an extremely slow but unstoppable speed.
Her face turned deathly pale, and she could no longer maintain her feigned composure.
"What...what exactly is going on?"
Seeing her like this, Qin Luo's lips twitched. He wanted to ask her, "You brought this place here," but this was clearly not the time to shirk responsibility.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and checked his own condition again. He only breathed a sigh of relief after discovering that his spiritual energy was restricted.
"Don't panic. It seems that only the use of spiritual energy is restricted here, while physical strength remains unaffected." Qin Luo narrowed his eyes slightly, carefully examining Dongfang Jinyao, and continued:
"Judging from your current level, young lady, you must have successfully overcome the tribulation. In that case, if you are careful, you should be able to protect yourself without much trouble. Don't panic for now; staying calm is the most important thing."
Hearing this, Dongfang Jinyao's panic subsided considerably. She raised her chin, regaining some of her composure:
"I have naturally successfully overcome the tribulation. It was just a minor incident in these ruins, not enough to throw me off balance. I was just momentarily surprised."
As she spoke, she crossed her arms over her chest, but a hint of nervousness still lingered in her eyes.
Seeing this, Qin Luo chuckled inwardly but didn't point it out:
"That would be best, but for now we can only take it one step at a time."
Seeing Dongfang Jinyao's bewildered expression, Qin Luo didn't expect her to take him out. He stared at the desolate sky and then, taking advantage of the fact that he could still use spiritual energy, flew up into the sky to survey the surroundings.
Seeing this, Dongfang Jinyao was somewhat displeased at being looked down upon by Qin Luo, but she was not willing to fall behind. She lightly touched the ground with her toes and used her movement technique to quickly catch up with Qin Luo.
