Chapter 53 Xia Zihan on the verge of turning evil

Xia Zihan's body trembled slightly, and tears slid down her cheek.

She couldn't believe that the person who had given her warmth and hope when she was most helpless, the man she had longed for, would abandon her.

"Why? Why are you doing this to me?"

Xia Zihan's voice choked with sobs, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

She reminisced about every moment she spent with Qin Luo; those beautiful moments now felt like sharp blades, piercing her heart.

She leaned weakly against the corner of the wall, staring at the dimly lit room, as if she herself had been swallowed up by the darkness.

The despair in her heart robbed her of the ability to think. She didn't know what to do; all she knew was that a piece of her heart had been ripped out, leaving an empty and painful void.

His eyes were empty and lifeless as he stared blankly into the dimly lit room, as if the whole world had lost its color.

Xia Zihan could only hug her knees tightly, trying to feel a little warmth from them.

But the coldness of that body only fueled her despair. She didn't know how long she had been sitting in the corner; time seemed to stand still.

Her tears had dried, leaving only tear tracks on her face. Her lips trembled, as if she wanted to say something, but no sound came out.

She felt like a lone boat lost in a vast ocean, with no support and no goal.

......

In the dimly lit room, when Xia Zihan's trembling hand slowly touched Qin Luo's palm.

His pupils contracted sharply, and a glimmer of light returned to his unfocused eyes.

She stared blankly at Qin Luo in front of her, as if she couldn't believe her eyes, but the warmth she felt in her hand told her that none of this was an illusion!

Qin Luo looked at her helpless appearance with complicated emotions in his eyes. He did not expect that Xia Zihan, who usually looked so capable and intelligent, would turn out like this.

But the next moment, a sudden force sent him crashing to the ground, and a slightly cold, delicate body threw herself into his arms, clinging to him tightly with such force that he could hardly breathe, as if afraid he would disappear again.

Then, sobs escaped from Qin Luo's arms, and soon tears soaked his robes.

Her body trembled slightly, and she hugged Qin Luo even tighter, as if she wanted to merge herself into his body.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu...is it really...you?"

A moment later, Xia Zihan's hoarse voice finally rang out, as if carrying a hint of uncertainty, as if she were still dreaming.

"Fellow Daoist Xia, it was my oversight. I should have told you."

Qin Luo gently patted her trembling body and apologized softly.

Hearing that familiar voice and the soothing pats, Xia Zihan slowly settled down in his arms.

She took a deep breath of Qin Luo's unique scent, as if only in this way could she calm her restless heart.

The two remained silent, enjoying the tranquility of the moment.

Qin Luo knew he had to say something, otherwise she could stay like this for a day, or even longer! Moreover, he could feel Xia Zihan's increasingly uneasy aura and temperature, as if she wanted to devour him.

"Fellow Daoist Xia, I'm sorry to have worried you."

Qin Luo's voice was low and tinged with guilt, causing Xia Zihan in his arms to pause for a moment.

"I learned about the Spirit Mist Fruit from an adventure team in Qingfeng City. I heard that this treasure is very beneficial to cultivators in the Spirit Gathering Realm, and because time is of the essence, I..."

Qin Luo patiently explained his itinerary over the past few days, as well as his battle with the Earth-Splitting Bear King in Lingwu Valley, naturally overshadowing Yi Ting's presence.

Listening to his gentle explanation and the hand that kept patting her back to comfort her, Xia Zihan finally lifted her head from his embrace and stared at him with her red and swollen eyes.

"I...I thought you didn't want me anymore!" Her voice was hoarse and trembling, filled with endless grievances.

"How could that be? Didn't I say I would always support you?"

Unexpectedly, Xia Zihan hugged him even tighter upon hearing this, burying her head in his chest once more.

This puzzled Qin Luo. Had he said something wrong?

Just as he was saying something, Xia Zihan's hoarse voice came from his chest.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, take me!"

"What?"

This unexpected remark left Qin Luo's mind blank. He never expected Xia Zihan to say such a thing, and for a moment he didn't know how to respond.

This was not part of his plan at all!

Qin Luo felt the increasingly hot body in his arms, his body stiffened slightly, but his mind was racing.

"Fellow Daoist Xia, you're not joking, are you?"

Xia Zihan frowned deeply, then answered him with her actions.

Qin Luo could no longer sit idly by and wait for his fate. He channeled his spiritual energy into his hand, then pressed her hand down, saying in a serious tone:

"Fellow Daoist Xia, what's wrong with you?"

Xia Zihan felt the pressure on his wrist and felt even more aggrieved. She stubbornly raised her head to look at Qin Luo, her eyes filled with a look of despair.

The moment she threw herself into Qin Luo's arms, a strong scent of mugwort wafted over her nose.

The taste was so familiar, so familiar that it made her heart clench.

This fragrance is exactly the same as the one she smelled on Qin Luo not long ago!

This level of fragrance cannot be left by conversation; it can only linger so intensely after intimate physical contact.
