Chapter 59 Fellow Daoist Xia, Talk is cheap and Actions are useless

Qin Luo could only maintain a smile after hearing this. He naturally understood the sentiment behind Xia Zihan's words, but that was not the reason he came here so early in the morning.

So he could only pretend he hadn't heard the deeper meaning behind her words.

Then, he took a few light steps and calmly walked into the room.

After closing the door, Xia Zihan looked at his back with a hint of resentment in her eyes. She had hinted and even made it clear to Fellow Daoist Wang Wu several times, but he never responded. Did she really have to take the initiative as a woman?

She gently bit her lip, her mind churning. She couldn't understand what Fellow Daoist Wang Wu was worried about, when their feelings for each other were already so obvious.

But her expression quickly changed, and she became somewhat flustered. Qin Luo's gaze was fixed intently on the wooden box he had given away the day before.

She hadn't been able to focus on cultivation last night because she was uneasy, so she hadn't used the Spirit Mist Fruit. This was also why she was flustered; she was afraid that Qin Luo would see it and realize that she hadn't been cultivating last night but had been secretly investigating him.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, I..."

Xia Zihan was about to explain something when Qin Luo said directly:

"Fellow Daoist Xia, sigh!"

Qin Luo gently closed the wooden box containing the Spirit Mist Fruit, shook his head slightly, wanting to say something to Xia Zihan, but in the end it turned into a soft sigh, his expression full of disappointment.

Xia Zihan's face turned pale. She opened her mouth, but didn't know how to defend herself, and her heart was filled with guilt.

He then lowered his head slightly in front of Qin Luo, avoiding eye contact with him.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, I...I..."

"I just... I just couldn't calm down last night, so..."

The voice was broken and intermittent, carrying a hint of helplessness and panic.

"Fellow Daoist Xia, what did you promise me yesterday? Your actions are making me feel quite uncertain about our future."

Qin Luo's words were tinged with disappointment, and his eyes dimmed.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, I just... I just couldn't calm my mind last night, so I couldn't fully devote myself to cultivation."

"I know it's my fault, I shouldn't have let my emotions run wild. But I... but I just can't control my heart. I'm always worried about you, worried that you'll suddenly leave."

"That's why I've been secretly investigating you. I just want to make sure you're still here and that you're alright."

Xia Zihan's voice grew softer and softer, and when she saw the disappointment in Qin Luo's eyes, a faint mist began to well up in her eyes.

"Investigating me?"

Upon hearing her words, Qin Luo narrowed his eyes and quietly looked at Xia Zihan.

Hearing his displeased tone, Xia Zihan's already slightly pale face turned deathly white. Her hands clenched tightly together, her heart filled with guilt.

“Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, I know my behavior is very inappropriate, but I really can’t control myself. Every time I think about possibly losing you, my heart is in turmoil, and my senses involuntarily release outwards.”

As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes. She gently tugged at Qin Luo's robe and said cautiously:

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, I know I was wrong. I won't do it again."

Looking at Xia Zihan's pitiful appearance, Qin Luo felt a pang of pity, but he hardened his heart and frowned, his face growing increasingly cold.

"Fellow Daoist Xia, if we don't even have the most basic trust between us, how can we move forward hand in hand?" After saying that, he suddenly flicked his sleeves, turned around resolutely, and strode towards the door.

But Qin Luo had only taken a few steps when he suddenly felt a tightness behind him; Xia Zihan had hugged him tightly from behind.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, don't go! I was wrong, I really know I was wrong." Her voice was choked with sobs, and tears instantly soaked Qin Luo's clothes.

"I shouldn't have distrusted you, I shouldn't have done that. I was just too afraid of losing you, I really couldn't control myself."

As Xia Zihan spoke, she kept sobbing, and her body trembled slightly.

“Fellow Daoist Xia, do you know that when I heard that you had neglected your cultivation because of me, endless hatred welled up in my heart? I hate myself for unknowingly influencing you and causing you to deviate from the right path of cultivation.”

"You must know that the path of cultivation allows no room for the slightest slackness."

"Perhaps we need some time to consider whether our relationship is right, and then think carefully about our future."

Qin Luo shook his head, his tone full of helplessness, and then slowly pried her hands off his waist.

But as soon as he touched Xia Zihan's hand, Xia Zihan hugged him even tighter, as if she had used all her strength.

"Fellow Daoist Wang Wu, please don't push me away, I beg you."

Xia Zihan's voice was full of pleading.

“I know I shouldn’t let my emotions interfere with my cultivation. I will prove to you that there is no problem between us.”

"I will control my emotions. Please don't give up on me, don't give up on our future."

Xia Zihan's tears kept dripping onto Qin Luo's back. Her body trembled slightly, but she showed no sign of letting go.

“Fellow Daoist Xia, I have heard your assurance, but words alone are useless. I need to see your actions.”

Qin Luo's voice remained indifferent, and a hint of reluctance flashed in his eyes as he turned away from her, but it was quickly replaced by reason.

Although this method was a bit too stimulating for Xia Zihan, it was the fastest and most effective method.
