"You still know to come back?" Her voice was choked with sobs and grievance, yet she tried to appear indifferent.
Looking at her red and swollen eyes, Qin Luo felt a pang of guilt. He reached out and gently stroked Xia Zihan's face, smoothing the stray strands of hair behind her ear.
"Zihan, it's my fault, I..."
Qin Luo suddenly paused, unsure of what to say. He couldn't very well say that he had spent seven days with Yi Ting, could he?
This would backfire, leaving him momentarily at a loss for words.
Xia Zihan snorted softly upon seeing this and turned her head away, but she did not dodge Qin Luo's hand.
With a flicker in her eyes, she suddenly said:
"Qin Luo, I know you must have your reasons for doing this. There's no need to say anything more; I will understand you."
"But now you have to make up for the time you've missed these past few days!"
Before the words were even finished, the distance between the two gradually shortened, and a faint electric current passed between them.
But it only lasted a moment. Xia Zihan slowly stepped back a little, and said with a haughty expression:
"Hmph, I forgive you!"
Xia Zihan smiled and pulled Qin Luo to sit down on the bedside. She then leaned on his shoulder, as if she wanted to make up for the lack of support she had felt these past few days.
Qin Luo hadn't expected her to forgive him so easily. He felt both relieved and a little guilty. Looking at Xia Zihan leaning on his shoulder, her soft hair gently brushed against his cheek, bringing a ticklish yet comforting feeling.
The room was filled with their whispered conversations, making them look like a couple deeply in love.
But deep within Xia Zihan's eyes lurked a strange look.
