Chapter 49: Things from the Deep Sea (V)

As if appearing out of thin air, on the thundering sea, there were more than a dozen ships coming towards them directly in front of them.

These ships are generally smaller than the ghost ship they are on, and the smallest one is even just a lifeboat.

They were clearly drifting freely on the sea following the ocean current, but these ships were sailing against the current and heading straight towards them.

Elvia entered the cockpit and tried the steering wheel inside. Finding that it was still usable, she steered the ship to try to avoid those ships.

But the storm outside was so severe that the ghost ship was almost pushed forward by the sea and had no way to escape.

"Zhou Zhou, you take the helm." Elvia said calmly as she looked at a group of ships looming in the distance.

Zhou Zhou couldn't drive a boat or steer the boat. He stood behind Alvia and didn't know what he could do to help. When he heard Al's voice and looked at the steering wheel he had never touched before, Zhou Zhou opened his eyes wide and said, "I can't do it."

"It's okay, just keep going in the current direction." He said as he released one hand and looked at Zhou Zhou with a calm gaze.

Zhou Zhou tried to grab the steering wheel with both hands, but Alvia let go of his other hand and strode out of the cab: "Hold on for a minute and I'll be back to take over."

One of the schooner's masts was broken, and the sail on the other was tattered and full of holes. Elvia folded the sails on the mast in the wind and rain, and then immediately returned to the cabin.

Zhou Zhou held the steering wheel with both hands, his body straight, his eyes fixed on the front, looking very serious, but his motionless appearance made him seem as if he was fixed together with the steering wheel.

When he found that Alvia had returned from outside, his serious look immediately broke, his eyebrows softened, and he looked at Alvia eagerly: "We are about to collide."

They discovered the opposing ships too late, or rather, those ships appeared too late. Even if they changed direction now, it was too late. There was not just one ship on the opposite side. Even if they deviated from the original trajectory, they would only collide with another ship.

Alvia's originally dry hair was wet by the storm outside. Strands of black hair were still dripping with water. He brushed his hair back, revealing his smooth forehead. With slightly cold and sharp eyes, he looked at the ship in front of him: "It's okay. Even if this ship crashes, we can change to another one."

It was getting closer and closer, and there were obviously people on the opposite ship. In the darkness, many ships had tiny lights on, and they seemed to be trying their best to avoid a collision with the brig. Most of the ships avoided it, but there was one ship that turned in the same direction as the ghost ship.

Finally, the hull made a dull crash, and Elvia, who had taken over the steering wheel, did not move at all. Instead, Zhou Zhou almost fell down, and hurriedly grabbed Elvia's clothes to barely stand.

"Is the boat broken?" Zhou Zhou couldn't see the hull, so he could only ask the people next to him.

"I don't know. I'll go out and take a look." There is no need to worry now. Most of the ships have passed by. The one that collided with this ship is a small boat. It is the other ship that should be worried about.

"I'm going too." After finding that Elvia no longer cared about it after letting go of the steering wheel and was not going to let him take over, Zhou Zhou immediately followed.

The wind and rain outside were very strong, and his health would be reduced after going out. Elvia originally wanted to leave Zhou Zhou here or let him go to the captain's rest cabin, but Zhou Zhou was already thinking about what happened after the collision. He quickly surpassed Elvia and looked extremely curious. Elvia didn't say anything more.

The hull that was hit was on the front side. Zhou Zhou stood by the boat in the wind and rain and looked down. Above the sea, the hull did not seem to be damaged except for many scratches.

He stretched his neck to search on the sea and finally saw the small boat not far behind. The boat was white in color. The bow had sunk into the sea, while the hull and stern were still above the sea. It seemed that it was not far from sinking completely.

"Anyone there?"

Zhou Zhou shouted while looking at the sea around the ship.

"There's someone, there's someone here." A man came out of the tilted cabin and shouted towards Zhou Zhou. Soon after, another person came out of the cabin, and two people waved their hands and shouted for help to Zhou Zhou.

The health points and countdown above their heads were only half left. Although neither side did it intentionally, it was their ship that crashed into the other's ship. Zhou Zhou looked back at Elvia, blinking at him.

Understanding the meaning in Zhou Zhou's eyes, Elvia nodded.

Zhou Zhou immediately ran towards the ship and threw down a rope ladder that was casually placed on the deck. The rope ladder was just touching the water surface. The two men immediately jumped into the sea and swam towards this side.

The two men climbed up the rope ladder, flipped in from the outside, said thank you to Zhou Zhou, and sat on the deck to rest.

"It's a good thing you let us out, otherwise we would both be dead after soaking in the sea for a while." A man said mumblingly.

The four of them stood outside in the rain, several of them were soaked. Zhou Zhou propped his forehead with both hands and said, "Let's go in and talk."

"Wait a minute, wait a minute, let the rain wash off the seawater on your body before you go in, otherwise this thing on your head will keep falling after you go in." The man pointed to the top of his head, and then said to Zhou Zhou and Alvia: "You two go in first, don't guard us, there will be fewer of them outside."

Zhou Zhou seemed to want to talk to the two of them, but Elvia walked towards the captain's lounge. Zhou Zhou looked at the seated players, then looked at El, and hurriedly followed.

Two wet people entered the cabin, the floor was full of water marks from their footsteps. Zhou Zhou stood by the door and wrung the water out of his clothes, only to find that the clothes were still stuck to his body after wringing them out, especially the shirt he was wearing, which was completely stuck to his body.

He took off his suit and began to unbutton it. He wanted to change into new clothes.

"Don't take it off." Alvia was already sitting on the stool.

"Ah, but my clothes are all wet."

He glanced at the black shirt that was tightly attached to Zhou Zhou, and then looked out the window: "Are you sure you won't go out tonight?"

I’m not sure. There might be a mission later, and I’ll get wet again if I go out. Zhou Zhou, wearing wet clothes, tilted his head and thought for a while: "Okay then."

Since he didn't change his clothes, Zhou Zhou started to wring the water out of his clothes. The suit and shirt that were originally neat and upright were wrung out like dried pickles by him, and looked wrinkled.

"Thank you, both of you. Thank you, thank you." Two people outside came in from the captain's cabin. As soon as the door opened, words of thanks came out: "Hey? Don't you have any lights here? Are you just sitting here in the dark?"

As the man spoke, he took out a desk lamp. The lamp was very bright, so bright that it was blinding and impossible to look directly at.

He placed the lamp on the table and introduced himself to the two people: "My name is Wu Yu, and this is my friend Kori, what are your names?"

Wu Yu had a natural smile and was estimated to be around 30 years old, while his friend was of sturdy build. Just now, he had been keeping his head down outside and his appearance could not be seen clearly. Now, under the light of the desk lamp, it can be seen that this man named Corey had a square face and a slightly rough appearance. It could only be described as a very ordinary face.

Zhou Zhou stood at the door, holding the edge of his clothes that looked like dried pickled mustard greens in his hand. He stared at the two of them for a while before saying, "I'm Zhou Zhou."

Alvia also glanced at the two of them: "Al."

"Hello, Zhou Zhou, Ai'er, it's fate that we are in the same copy." Wu Yu said with a smile, and looked at the stools next to Alvia: "Why don't we sit down and talk."

Alvia raised his arm and made a simple invitation gesture. Although he looked a little embarrassed now, his demeanor was still elegant.

"Thank you."

Wu Yu and Corey both sat on the stools, and Zhou Zhou also took a few steps forward and sat next to Elvia.

In the past, the social expert was always enthusiastic when meeting new friends, but this time Zhou Zhou just looked at the two of them without saying a word.

The atmosphere did not freeze at this point. Wu Yu was very talkative. While talking about their previous experiences, he expressed his gratitude by saying that if Zhou Zhou had not allowed them to get on the boat, even if the boat had not sunk, they would not have been able to complete the subsequent tasks.

"Why can't you complete the next task?" Zhou Zhou didn't say anything at first, but gradually, his attention was attracted by Wu Yu.

"The storm outside is so severe that our boat will capsize sooner or later, and maybe other people's boats won't be saved either." Wu Yu's face was full of relief, but he sighed and shook his head, seeming to be worried about others.

Almost as soon as he finished speaking, the storm outside suddenly became stronger. The already shaking boat shook even more violently, and even the people could hardly stand.

"Could it be that I was right?" Wu Yu quickly stood up and looked out the window, but found that he could only see the front and not the back, so he sat down again in disappointment.

Zhou Zhou suddenly stood up, and the other three looked up at him.

"I'll go outside and take a look."

Wu Yu: "Ah? But it's so dark outside, and those ships are already invisible."

"It's okay." Zhou Zhou walked outside. He didn't know if Shirley and Keli were on the boats that just passed by. The boat they were on was the largest one among them, and it was shaking so violently. Maybe the other boats would really be like what Wu Yu said. He still wanted to go out and take a look.

As soon as he went out, Zhou Zhou was almost blown away by the strong wind. If Elvia hadn't grabbed his arm in time, he might have been flying in the sky.

"Why did you come out too?" The sound of the waves was too loud, so Zhou Zhou could only shout loudly.

Alvia didn't say anything, but escorted him to the stern, with steady steps, not affected by the storm at all. Zhou Zhou was escorted forward. He turned back several times to say thank you, but before he could say anything, he was interrupted by Alvia: "Look at your feet."

Zhou Zhou almost slipped on a wooden board and hit the back of his head against Alvia, who held him up by the arm to help him stand steady.

The wooden board seemed to be the one he had taken from the boat before, and it had remained on the boat without being blown away by the wind. Not daring to look back, Zhou Zhou could only look towards the stern. The ships in the distance were indeed not very clear to him, but his eyesight was good and he saw several ships that were overturned by the waves, with only the bottoms of the ships upside down on the sea.

There are also many people swimming towards here on the sea. Although it is not clear why those ships are going upstream, according to the direction of the ocean current, it is indeed more energy-saving to swim towards them.

"Save?" Elvia was very close to Zhou Zhou, almost leaning behind him, and spoke very close to his ear. She could clearly hear what he was saying without having to shout as loudly as Zhou Zhou did.

Zhou Zhou shrank his neck slightly. He didn't know why he shrank his neck. He blinked his eyes inexplicably and said, "Save them. Shirley and Keli might be in there."

The rope ladder Zhou Zhou had not been pulled up, but when they got around to the other side, they found that the rope ladder had been pulled up and placed casually on the deck.

After lowering the rope ladder again, Zhou Zhou stood at the stern and looked at a group of people in the distance who were struggling to swim towards this side. They had health points and countdowns above their heads. Even during the swimming process, the data above some people's heads had turned red, which was a sign that the data was about to be reset.

A wave came over, and the others appeared from the sea and continued to swim towards this side, but those who were reset to zero disappeared and were eliminated.

"Don't get too close to those two people." Alvia's voice sounded in his ears.

"I know."

"How do you know?"

Zhou Zhou turned his head to look at him. Alvia was taller than Zhou Zhou. From this angle, he could just see his smooth jawline and the rain sliding down his cheeks.

"Anyway, I just know it." Zhou Zhou, who used to be honest and a little silly, rarely got angry. He turned his head and stared at the players in the distance.

A group of players with green or red numbers on their heads finally swam to the side of the boat, and Zhou Zhou also found Shirley and Keli among them.

He suddenly became happy and hurried to the rope ladder, watching the players climb up one by one without blinking.

Only after Shirley and Keli climbed up did he happily call out their names.

After swimming for a long distance in the stormy sea, both men were very tired. They sat on the ground gasping for breath and saw Zhou Zhou waving at them weakly.

"Zhou, let's slow down a bit and talk about this later."

Zhou Zhou nodded, and after everyone climbed up, he glanced at the sea and made sure that there were no players below before pulling up the rope ladder.

The entire deck was filled with players. It seemed that there were indeed quite a few players in this copy. These people seemed to know that clothes soaked in sea water would reduce their health points, so they stayed in the water for a long time before getting up.

The same went for Keli and Shirley. They were wet for a while before they stood up with the help of Zhou Zhou.

Perhaps it was because only the captain's cabin was lit, or perhaps it was because Zhou Zhou and Elvia were taking two people there, the players behind them all followed them to the captain's lounge.

They also knew that staying outside and catching a cold would reduce their health points, so only a small number of people went to the cockpit and the passenger cabin at the rear.

"Don't go to 105. There is no floor in 105." Zhou Zhou reminded the players who were walking towards the cabin.

Those people turned around, looked at Zhou Zhou in surprise, nodded, and continued walking into the cabin.

The two people who had been in the captain's lounge didn't say anything when they saw that Zhou Zhou had brought a large number of players. After all, they were also latecomers.

The rest cabin is not very big. After these players rushed in, the entire cabin was full and there was no place to sit.

Wu Yu and Kori also stood up to make room for everyone. He greeted everyone with a smile and asked about their situation. When he learned that all the players' ships were damaged in the storm, he immediately said comforting words, telling everyone not to worry, that it was safe here.

Alvia looked at him coldly but said nothing.

Zhou Zhou didn't hear what they were saying at all. It was not obvious because of the strong wind and rain outside just now, but now that he was inside the cabin, even though it was crowded, the lights were still very bright. The clothes Shirley wore were sticking to her body, revealing her curves. Although her clothes were not transparent even if wet, Zhou Zhou still found a loose sweatshirt for her from among the new clothes he had bought.

Shirley put the sweatshirt on over her clothes without hesitation and pinched Zhou Zhou's cheek: "Our Zhou Zhou is still considerate."

Zhou Zhou smiled at her, and found a few girls in the crowded lounge. He immediately squeezed through the crowd to give them clothes.

He bought a lot of sweatshirts, so the ones he gave to other girls were all loose-fitting sweatshirts that could be worn directly over the head.

The girls were a little surprised, but they still politely took Zhou Zhou's clothes and thanked him.

The male player next to him sneered, as if he thought Zhou Zhou was too flattering, but after Zhou Zhou gave the clothes away, he returned to his companions and didn't even think about continuing to chat with the girl.

"You wear one too." Elvia said to Zhou Zhou who brought back the clothes.

"Ah, but I have to go out later." Zhou Zhou said blankly.

"I won't be going out until the storm stops."

Now that Shirley and Keli have been found, and there is no more information released on the task panel, there is really no need to go out. Zhou Zhou nodded and began to take off his clothes.

As a result, as soon as he took off his suit that looked like dried pickled vegetables, he was stopped by Elvia who had already guessed what he was going to do. "Just put on a sweatshirt over your shirt. It's not polite to take off your clothes in front of so many people."

But it was uncomfortable to wear wet clothes, so Zhou Zhou wanted to change again. However, looking at Elvia's stern gaze, he still pouted and took out a sweatshirt and put it on.

Keli looked at the black sweater that Shirley was wearing with envy, and asked Zhou Zhou, "Zhou Zhou, do you have any more clothes? I want to change into one, too."

"Why are you joining in the fun? Are you a girl?" Shirley glared at him. These clothes were bought by Zhou Zhou with points. He might not even have enough to buy them for himself. Now that so many pieces have been given to the female player, she will definitely buy them for Zhou Zhou again when she gets out of the dungeon. The same cannot be said for other people. Why would they take Zhou Zhou's clothes?

"I'm cold." Keliwei said aggrievedly. He was already wearing thin clothes, and he never expected that the copy would be on the sea, there would be a storm, and it would be so cold.

Zhou Zhou quickly took out another black sweatshirt and gave it to Keli, who put it on immediately.

Shirley rolled her eyes at Keli but didn't say anything else.

Zhou Zhou looked down at his black sweatshirt and discovered that the ones he gave to Shirley and Keli were also black. Although the styles and patterns were different, they were basically the same. The other girls' sweatshirts were of various colors, except black.

"The three of us are wearing couple outfits." Zhou Zhou said in surprise. He just picked up the clothes at random without thinking too much about it, and it just so happened that the three of them were the same color.

Shirley and Keli looked at each other. Even though they disliked their brother/sister very much, the three of them looked like they were in the same group.

The three of them looked at each other and laughed. Coli didn't know what was so funny, so he laughed along with the two of them. But when his gaze shifted to Elvia, he suddenly couldn't laugh anymore.

Elvia, with her hair brushed back, had sharp eyebrows and eyes, and was more intimidating than before. Her pair of ice-blue eyes were unobstructed, and a glance at them could freeze people into popsicles.

Keli shivered, wondering if he was wearing too little. It was so cold.
