10 Just treat tonight as a dream
"Liu Yuwei, wake up. We're home. Call your family and have them pick you up." Jin Lang patted her shoulder. "Hmm... home?" She opened her eyes and looked out, her eyes tinged with drunkenness and confusion, muttering to herself, "I'm really home!" "Call your husband and have him pick you up." The word "husband" uttered by him sounded like a sour fruit. "Who's your husband?" Liu Yuwei seemed puzzled. She tilted her head and asked Jin Lang with a bewildered look. Jin Lang, observing her bewildered state, gave a wry smile. There was no need to explain to someone so drunk. He took her finger to unlock the screen, scrolled through the recent call log, and called the last person—Ren Yiming. The call connected, but no one answered. While waiting, Liu Yuwei suddenly opened the car door and tried to get out, but the seatbelt suddenly clamped down on her. She frantically struggled, her fingers fumbling with the buckle, but couldn't get it unfastened. Her irritation instantly ignited, and she slapped Jin Lang's shoulder hard in a fit of rage, muttering, "Why did you tie me up?" Jin Lang sighed helplessly, quickly walked around to the opposite door, bent down to get inside, and deftly pressed the red buckle to unbuckle the seatbelt, then helped the woman out. "Then you have to tell me which building and room you live in, and I'll take you upstairs." They say drunks need to be coaxed, and now that they couldn't contact anyone, they couldn't just stand there in the cold wind. She leaned over, almost completely leaning on the man's sturdy arms, and reached out to yank off his mask. "It really is you!" Her face was filled with surprise, as if she had just recognized Jin Lang. Liu Yuwei blinked, "Then let's exchange a secret! First, tell me why you've appeared in my dream again!" Jin Lang froze. For some reason, the words "Zhuang Zhou's Dream of the Butterfly" suddenly popped into his mind again. He sighed helplessly, "Liu Yuwei, I really lost to you." "Okay, I regret it. I shouldn't have let you go." The words that were suppressed in his heart passed through his throat and turned into sounds, and he said them so easily. Looking at the drunken Liu Yuwei in his arms, although he knew she wouldn't remember when she woke up, Jin Lang still felt an unprecedented sense of relief. "If it's really a dream, then I'll tell you, my home is in Building 3, Room 405." He could be easily tricked into revealing things, and his security awareness was still poor. But Jin Lang then thought that it seemed that it was no longer his turn to worry about these things. The fingerprint lock opened the door...
"Liu Yuwei, wake up, we're home. Call your family and ask them to come down and pick you up."
Jin Lang patted her shoulder.
"Hmm...home?" She opened her eyes and looked outside, her eyes filled with drunkenness and confusion, muttering to herself, "I'm really home!"
"Call your husband and have him come down to pick you up."
The word "husband" sounded like a sour fruit when it came out of his mouth.
"Who is your husband?" Liu Yuwei seemed confused. She tilted her head and asked Jin Lang with a dazed look on her face.
Jin Lang looked at her confused appearance with a wry smile on his face. He thought it was no use explaining anything to a drunk person. He took her finger to unlock the screen, flipped through the recent call log, and called the last person - Ren Yiming.
The call was connected, but no one answered.
While waiting, Liu Yuwei suddenly opened the car door and was about to get out, but she was suddenly restrained by the seat belt. She struggled frantically for a long time, her fingers groping at the buckle, but she couldn't get it unfastened.
The irritation in her heart was instantly ignited. She slapped Jin Lang's shoulder vigorously to vent her anger and muttered, "Why did you tie me up?"
Jin Lang sighed helplessly, walked quickly around to the opposite door, bent down and entered the car, pressed the red buckle with his fingers skillfully, unbuckled the seat belt, and helped the woman get out of the car.
"Then you have to tell me which building and room your house is in, and I'll take you up there first."
They say drunks need to be coaxed. Now that they can't contact anyone, the two of them can't just stand in this cold wind forever.
She tilted her body, almost leaning her whole body on the man's strong arms, and reached out to pull off his mask.
"It's really you!" His face was full of surprise, as if he had just recognized Jin Lang.
Liu Yuwei blinked, "Then let's exchange a secret! First, tell me why you came into my dream again!"
Jin Lang was stunned. For some reason, the four words "Zhuang Zhou Mengdie" suddenly appeared in his mind again.
He sighed helplessly, "Liu Yuwei, I really lost to you."
"Okay, I regret it. I shouldn't have let you go." The words that were suppressed in my heart passed through my throat and turned into sound, and I said them out so easily.
Looking at the drunk Liu Yuwei in his arms, although he knew she would not remember anything when she woke up, Jin Lang still felt unprecedented relief.
"If it's a dream, then I'll tell you, my home is in Building 3, Room 405."
He could easily be tricked into revealing things, so his security awareness was still lacking. But Jin Lang then realized that it was no longer his turn to worry about these things.
The fingerprint lock opened the door, and the house was dark. It seemed that no one was home.
Liu Yuwei kicked off her high heels, which dropped casually to the ground with a clicking sound. She fumbled for the switch beside the wallpaper, and with a gentle swipe of her finger, she finally turned on the corridor light.
Jin Lang saw her staggering and walking crookedly into the house, and fearing that she would fall, he simply bent down, picked her up horizontally, found the bedroom, and gently put her on the bed.
As if sensing that there was no space around him, Liu Yuwei opened his eyes and sat up suddenly. Jin Lang was startled by the sudden movement behind him.
"What's wrong?"
He reached out and touched her forehead, "Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
Liu Yuwei didn't know what she remembered, so she pulled his sleeve and stared at him. Jin Lang saw that her eyes were filled with tears and she was about to fall.
"Why didn't you reply to my message?" she asked with a hint of tears in her voice.
"What information?" Jin Lang was puzzled, not knowing what she was talking about.
"Why break up just like that?" Liu Yuwei became more and more agitated, and his voice became louder.
"Do you know how sad I was at that time? I could drink ten glasses of German beer in a row!" She raised her fist to make the number ten and stretched it in front of Jin Lang.
Perhaps influenced by the woman who poured wine in the bar, Liu Yuwei opened her hands and grabbed Jin Lang's shirt collar to pull him forward, her eyes full of grievance and unwillingness.
"Tell me, how am I inferior to her? Our friendship of so many years is not worth a few words from her!"
The last line of his voice was choked with gravel, "Even Ren Yiming said you were blind!"
Jin Lang was completely confused by these few words. Seeing her tears streaming down her face, he reached for the tissue box.
Liu Yuwei pulled Jin Lang and rubbed his nose with his shirt sleeve, then sobbed and said, "Can you please not leave..."
Seeing her so aggrieved while drunk, Jin Lang's pupils were filled with dark currents and his heart softened.
But it was obvious that I was the one who was left behind back then.
But at this moment, he couldn't care less about these things, his body had already uncontrollably and gently held the person in his arms.
Jin Lang patted her back gently like soothing a baby, trying to calm her down.
Liu Yuwei hadn't felt such a vivid dream in a long time. Not only could she hear his voice in her ears, but her palms seemed to be warm. She suddenly broke free from the man's arms, staring at his face with eyes full of fear and reluctance, as if this face would dissipate into the air like smoke in the next second.
She slowly raised her right hand, trembling slightly, and gently stroked the peak of his brow with her fingertips, carefully sliding over his long eyelashes and brushing against his high nose bridge. The touch made her heart beat faster. Finally, she stopped at the corner of his lips, her fingers wandering back and forth.
Jin Lang looked at her, completely unaware that the coldness in his eyes had already dissipated, replaced by attachment.
Liu Yuwei's eyes were hazy and her fair cheeks were faintly flushed.
Just as Jin Lang was about to speak, she pressed her rose-cardamom-stained index finger against his lips and made a "hush" gesture, as if she was afraid of hearing words that would break the beautiful illusion.
The faint scent of camellia on his wrist penetrated into Jin Lang's nostrils.
The next second, Jin Lang felt the person in front of him approaching, and soft lips with a hint of alcohol covered his lips.
His body froze, as if struck by an electric current, unable to move. His mind went blank. Whose dream was this? Was she intruding on him, or was he lost in her fantasy?
My hands unconsciously raised slightly, wanting to embrace this sudden happiness, but they stopped in mid-air, afraid that this fragile dream would be shattered at the slightest touch.
Liu Yuwei saw him standing there without any reaction, and a glimmer of light flashed quietly in his drunken eyes.
The pink tip of her tongue gently stretched out, like a nimble butterfly fluttering by, and playfully licked the corner of his lips.
Jin Lang's body trembled.
She was like a child who had succeeded, and she quickly withdrew her tongue. Her eyes were full of mischief and pride, as if she was provoking the man and luring him into a dream web.
Jin Lang stared at the corners of her lips that were dripping with moisture, and felt his brain "boom" as if it was hit by a heavy bomb. The last bit of rationality that was left was completely destroyed by this sudden provocation, and turned to ashes.
His eyes instantly became hot and deep, like a burning fire that could melt everything.
He turned around suddenly, his movements were somewhat anxious and rough, and with both hands he pressed Liu Yuwei firmly on the soft bed.
His fingers gently stroked her cheek, as if touching a rare treasure, slowly stroking along her graceful contours, feeling the delicacy and warmth of her skin.
His Adam's apple slid up and down unconsciously, swallowing the overflowing desire, his eyes staring deeply at Liu Yuwei, as if he wanted to swallow her whole.
He slowly leaned over and placed a deep kiss on her.
Unlike Liu Yuwei's awkwardness just now, Jin Lang skillfully used his tongue to gently pry open her tightly closed lips and teeth, going straight in and exploring the remaining malt taste in her mouth.
He had reviewed this scene countless times in his dreams on countless lonely nights, and every detail was engraved in his heart. Now, he was finally able to touch and feel it in reality.
At first, he tried his best to restrain himself, his movements gentle and slow, as if he were protecting a delicate flower, afraid that the slightest force would crush it. But once the long-suppressed emotions burst through the dam, they surged like a raging flood, uncontrollable.
He gradually deepened the kiss, like a hungry beast finally released, greedily tasting the taste of her cherry lips.
He took the air from her chest inch by inch, and the kiss became more intense and deeper.
Until the end, Liu Yuwei was out of breath and a slight whimper came from her throat, breaking the intoxicating silence.
Jin Lang suddenly let go of her, his breathing rapid and heavy, his chest heaving violently.
He secretly warned himself in his heart: "That's enough, let's stop here."
If this continues, he feels that he will completely sink and be unable to extricate himself. The emotions suppressed in his heart will break through all defenses and drag the two of them into a moral storm.
Liu Yuwei seemed still lost in a beautiful dream, her lips curled up in a satisfied smile. She turned over and closed her eyes, her movements slow and gentle, like a cat stretching in the warm spring sun.
The bedside lamplight shone on her peaceful sleeping face, her long and curled eyelashes cast a faint shadow on her cheeks, and her breathing was even and long.
Jin Lang stood quietly beside the bed. He bent down and gently placed her on the pillow. He carefully pulled the quilt over her and tucked it in corner by corner.
After doing all this, he took out her cell phone from his messy shirt pocket and placed it on the wireless charger on the bedside.
Watching the phone screen light up and dim, he seemed to foresee the ambiguous relationship between the two of them, which would eventually fade into darkness after the colorful glare.
"Sleep well, just treat tonight as a dream!"
Jin Lang turned slowly and walked towards the living room with heavy steps.
Suddenly, a kitten came out from somewhere, rubbed against his feet affectionately, and made purring sounds in its throat.
Jin Lang squatted down slightly, reached out and gently stroked the kitten's head.
Standing up, a wall of photos came into view. He walked over and saw photos one next to the other. Each picture was a story frozen in time.
In her graduation photo, she was wearing a master's gown, with a bright and confident smile, and her eyes sparkling with anticipation for the future.
She sat on the sofa holding the cat, her narrow eyes narrowed into a slit, and the white ball looked particularly well-behaved in her arms.
The photo next to it looked like an outdoor wedding. She was wearing a pale pink bridesmaid dress, her figure graceful, her hair carefully tied up. She seemed to have received the bride's bouquet, standing surrounded by a crowd, the eyes of those around her filled with blessings. I wonder who was in her heart at that moment.
Finally, Jin Lang's gaze stopped on a photo of two people.
A man and a woman stood in front of a Gothic building. Liu Yuwei was holding flowers with a smile in her eyes. The man next to her was tall and handsome, with a pair of peach blossom eyes full of smiles.
His hand gently rested on Liu Yuwei's shoulder, and he held her gently in his arms. The two looked very well-matched.
He recognized this man; it was the man he had seen at the hotel entrance that night. He must be her husband. A wry smile played on his face. A wise man said true love has nothing to do with possession, but his rationality had already collapsed at this moment.
Jin Lang took a deep breath, turned slowly, and walked towards the door with dragging steps. He gripped the door handle, exerting a little force, and looked back at the room for the last time. Liu Yuwei was still sleeping peacefully, and the whole world seemed to have nothing to do with her.
A soft "click" sound completely separated him from this beautiful dream.
