Chapter 21 (1)

Yu Yao only vaguely remembered receiving a phone call in the middle of the night with no one speaking, and then fell back to sleep.

I woke up early the next morning and suddenly remembered it while brushing my teeth and washing my face in the bathroom. I held the toothbrush in my mouth and thought blankly.

"I seemed to have a dream last night and received a phone call?"

"Why did I dream of receiving a phone call? If I had to dream, it would be about receiving a call from Dr. Bai."

She lowered her head and spat out the foam in her mouth. After washing up, she turned around and rushed to the bed. She picked up the mobile phone on the bedside table and saw the record of midnight last night as soon as she opened the address book.

"Doctor Bai?!" Yu Yao's eyes lit up and she raised her phone happily. "Isn't this a dream? Doctor Bai really called me last night?"

After being happy, he immediately revealed a look of frustration, "Why did I go to bed so early last night? I didn't even receive the call!"

She stared at the address book page secretly.

Should I call again at this point to ask? Maybe I can even hear Dr. Bai's slurred voice, just waking up. It must be a deep, magnetic, and sexy voice.

Yu Yao held the phone in her arms and thought about it, laughing to herself.

"But it's not good to disturb Dr. Bai's sleep. Let's meet and ask him later." Yu Yao stared at the address book page again and again, then put the phone back and turned around to change clothes.

As soon as she turned around, the phone behind her rang. Yu Yao quickly turned around and picked up the phone, staring at the screen with sparkling eyes.

After seeing the caller ID, my excitement suddenly disappeared without a trace, like a deflated ball.

"It's Shu Wen..." She answered the phone weakly.

"It's me, no, why do you sound so unhappy that it's me?" The person on the other end of the line could sense the strong sense of decadence coming from Yu Yao over the phone.

"Um... nothing, I just woke up. What's the matter?" Yu Yao responded while turning around and opening the wardrobe.

"Nothing much. I recently had a commission that I thought I could give to you. Are you free tonight? Let's go out for dinner and then hand over the client's commission."

Yu Yao thought for a moment and replied vaguely, "I'm not sure if I have time tonight. I have something I haven't finished yet. If everything goes well, I can finish it tonight. If not, I don't know when I can finish it."

"Ah? You secretly accepted the commission without my knowledge?" Shu Wen's voice, coming from the phone, rose several decibels. "Didn't we agree that I'd be fully responsible for your commission?"

"It was an accident, an accident." Yu Yao moved the phone a little further away. "And after a thorough investigation, I found that it was related to my ability, so it was a good decision to take it over."

Shu Wen pondered for a few seconds on the other end. "Do you finally think that the voices you heard are no longer hallucinations?"

"Hmm... I guess so." Yu Yao took out a small skirt from the closet. "I used to be more or less... half-believing and half-doubting, but recently I can confirm that it's not hallucination."

"What happened? Tell me about it tonight."

"Then I'll have dinner with you when I'm free tonight. I'm going out now. Let's talk in the evening."

"Okay, let's talk tonight." Shu Wen hung up the phone simply and directly.

After Yu Yao hung up, she put the phone aside and changed her clothes. When she picked up her phone again, she suddenly found that there was another missed call, which showed that it was a white call.

"Ahhh, I missed it again!! I deserve to die! Why do I always miss Dr. Bai's calls?" Yu Yao picked up the phone and called back with tears in her eyes.

The microphone rang for a while, and then Bai Fang's voice came from the phone.

"Are you awake?"

"Yeah..." Yu Yao nodded in response.

"It's okay that you're awake. I just called to remind you. Come to my place later to meet Miss Liang and the others." Bai Fang's voice was very steady and calm, and he spoke lightly about the reminder.

"Okay, I'll be out right away." Yu Yao nodded and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, she didn't miss anything important.

After hanging up the phone, she tidied herself up briefly, picked up her small bag and turned to go out.

"I'll be back late today." She left the house and went out, pedaling her little bicycle quickly towards Bai Fang.

She was very familiar with the way back and forth. She hummed a tune while riding her bicycle and greeted the talking plant creatures on the road.

"It's very beautiful today too, little flowers." Yu Yao waved happily and greeted the beautiful flowers beside the flower bed. The little flowers responded with a "Puh-Puh" sound.

She was used to ignoring their irritable attitude, turned around and continued to pedal her bike towards Baifang.

After arriving at the destination, I locked my bicycle downstairs of the Baifang Consulting Office, and then excitedly ran upstairs carrying my small bag.

Now she can visit Dr. Bai's consulting clinic openly, and their relationship must have improved a lot compared to when they first met. Maybe they will have closer contacts in the future.

With a lot of thoughts in mind, Yu Yao skipped to the second-floor door of Bai Fang's house.

The door was half-open, not closed, and the room seemed very quiet.

Yu Yao stood at the door and knocked gently, but there was no response. She glanced inside through the half-open door and did not see Bai Fang.

"Doctor Bai?" She pushed the door open cautiously and took two steps inside. As soon as she entered, she heard a small, dull sound coming from the compartment next to her, like a heavy blow.

Yu Yao stood at the door in a daze.

She remembered that it was Baifang's gym...

Could it be that Dr. Bai is working out???

This thought quickly came to mind and was confirmed. Yu Yao's face lit up with joy, and she tiptoed over.

She had never seen Dr. Bai working hard, and she felt that he was a little inconsistent with his usual quiet and steady image. It should be okay to just take a quick glance at him.

Yu Yao moved stealthily to the door of Bai Fang's compartment, and came from inside a series of heavy hammering sounds, as if they were hitting sandbags. There was rhythm and a sense of percussion, but Yu Yao could not imagine the scene at all.

She reached out and grasped the door handle, debating whether to take a sneak peek.

I was struggling with my thoughts and just when I made up my mind and was about to take a look, the sound inside suddenly stopped.

Yu Yao was stunned and turned around quickly to go back to the door, but before she could move, the door in front of her opened with a swish.

Bai Fang’s figure appeared in front of Yu Yao.

Unlike his usual formal and steady shirt and trousers, Bai Fang was now wearing a casual light grey sweatshirt. His soft long hair was tied up high, revealing a fair neck with glistening beads of sweat hanging on it. His body was slightly emitting heat, his chest was slightly breathing, and his cheeks were flushed.

Bai Fang raised his hand to lift the hair in front of his forehead, and lowered his eyes to stare at Yu Yao who was caught red-handed.

"You're here?" she asked calmly, hooking her fingers on the collar of her sweatshirt, fanning away the heat. A few messy strands of hair got wet and stuck to the side of her cheek. Crystal sweat hung on her healthy skin, sliding from her cheek to her chin, and dripping into her collar as she trembled slightly.

Yu Yao stared blankly, her eyes almost popping out of her head.

"What's wrong?" Bai Fang tilted his head, staring at Yu Yao's dazed expression, and waved his hand in front of her eyes. "After walking around in high heels last night, I felt a little uncomfortable. I had some free time today, so I exercised a little."

"If you're not used to me like this, sit on the sofa for a while and I'll be out soon." Bai Fang took a step back, closed the door, and returned to the compartment.

Yu Yao was still standing stupidly at the door, staring at the door panel in a daze for a long time.

Did she just witness the goddess sweating profusely?

A sweatshirt, tied-up hair, and a slightly tired look and dripping sweat after exercise.

Absolutely beautiful picture!!!

Yu Yao covered her red face and jumped around excitedly, silently expressing her ecstasy.

This trip today made a lot of money!

Yu Yao happily went to the sofa and sat down to calm herself down, but the scene just now kept appearing in her mind, causing her to chuckle for a while and then pretend to be calm, repeating this over and over again.

After a while, she suddenly heard the faint sound of water dripping beside her ear.

Yu Yao looked up suddenly and realized that the sound of water came from the compartment behind her.

There is water inside???

Is there a private bathroom in the gym?

Yu Yao glanced at the entire space and began to ponder.

Dr. Bai, who looks weak and calm, not only has a cubicle gym, but also a separate bathroom in the gym.

It seems that the habit of visiting the White House was not formed in a day or two.

Her beautiful goddess is actually a sports-loving and extremely powerful gangster?

Yu Yao was lost in thought as she was whirling around in her head. Suddenly, there was a knock on the half-open door.

She stretched her head and saw Liang Yubai and Wei Tian standing at the door.

"You're here?" Yu Yao happily went forward to greet them, took them to the sofa, and served them tea and water.

"Is this Miss Bai's consulting room?" Wei Tian held Tuan Tuan in his arms and sat on the sofa, looking around. "It looks really nice. The decoration and layout are very relaxing."

Liang Yubai waved the fan in his hand calmly, "It's okay, but where is Miss Bai?"

"Oh, she's in there..." Yu Yao turned and pointed at the door of the cubicle, "Well... she's in there... busy with work."

Liang Yubai raised his eyebrows slightly, "It seems that Miss Bai is still very busy. Let's quickly resolve this matter so that we don't cause trouble to each other in the future."

Yu Yao nodded.

This matter happened to Wei Tian and Liang Wan. Liang Wan invited her, and Wei Tian invited Liang Yubai. Because of this troublesome problem, they both intervened to solve it. Now only when we go to Liang Wan's house can we know what happened.

"Ms. Liang, that cat...is it really just an ordinary cat?" Yu Yao asked tentatively.

Liang Yubai lowered his eyes and fanned himself with a fan. "Are you still afraid that the cat will eat you? It's an ordinary cat. The only thing that's unusual about it is that it's a spirit."

Yu Yao coughed lightly. It was the spirits that were scary. She had never come into contact with animals that had become spirits, so she had no idea what would happen in a while.

"But don't worry, a spirit cat is still a cat. It is indeed the cat that caused the current situation, but our main target of negotiation is the soul that is attached to Liang Wan."

"When we go over to talk to her later, be careful not to get her too excited. Although she was a good mother-in-law in her lifetime, since there's a discrepancy between our stories, something must have changed." Liang Yubai poked Yu Yao with his fan, reminding her seriously, "When we go over to negotiate, be sure not to get her too excited or do anything extreme."

Yu Yao nodded seriously, "Don't worry, it won't happen."

"Also, you must protect Liang Wan." Wei Tian added another reminder.

"Don't worry, that's my client." Yu Yao patted her flat chest confidently.

Liang Yubai covered her lips with her folding fan, seeming to want to say something but stopping herself.

The door of the compartment at the back suddenly opened, and Bai Fang came out wearing a formal shirt and trousers. He held onto the door frame, bent down, and hooked the heels of his high heels.

"You're out?" Yu Yao looked back happily. Although she liked Bai Fang in a sports shirt, she still felt most comfortable with ordinary Bai Fang.

Bai Fang responded lightly, nodded, and glanced at the people in the room, "You are all here."

"Then Yu Yao and I will go check on Miss Liang first. You guys should wait for us somewhere downstairs."

Wei Tian immediately stood up and said, "I'll lead the way for you."

Liang Yubai didn't say much, stood up and followed them downstairs.

"Huh? Are you the only one here today?" After going downstairs, Yu Yao looked around. This time, she didn't see a bunch of people blocking the way and following Liang Yubai.

"They are also nearby, but they are hiding and not so easy to find." Liang Yubai responded calmly.

"She is indeed a young lady." Yu Yao muttered softly.

Led by Wei Tian, several people walked towards Liang Wan's residence.

"I've had people keeping an eye on the area around her house these past few days. Miss Liang has basically never gone out except to buy groceries. She should still be at home at this time." Liang Yubai raised his hand and glanced at the time.

"Let's get it over with as soon as possible. I have to go have afternoon tea later."

Yu Yao coughed lightly and nodded.

Several people arrived downstairs at Liang Wan's house. Her house was on the second floor. Looking up, the curtains on the windows were tightly drawn, making it impossible to see what was going on inside.

After explaining some things to Yu Yao the day before yesterday, Liang Wan never contacted her again, nor did she ask anything about Wei Tian.

Looking back now, this is quite strange. I was so anxious at the time, but when I turned around I didn't ask any questions.

There is no doubt that there is something wrong with Liang Wan.

"Alright, you two go ahead." Liang Yubai raised his chin. "Wei Tian and I will be waiting nearby. Remember to notify me if you have any news."

"Okay." Yu Yao nodded, took out her cell phone and started contacting Liang Wan.

Liang Wan was not prepared for their sudden visit at all. When she heard that they were already downstairs, she seemed a little hesitant, but she did not refuse and let the two of them go upstairs directly.

"I came here so suddenly. I don't know if I disturbed her." Yu Yao said softly as she went upstairs.

"Probably not." Bai Fang responded softly.

Yu Yao stood at the door and knocked on it. There was silence inside for a while, and then hurried footsteps were heard.

Liang Wan opened the door a crack, peeked inside, and after seeing Yu Yao, she hesitantly opened the door.

"Please come in." She stood at the door and glanced outside. After confirming that Yu Yao and Bai Fang were there, she turned around, opened the door, and let them in.

This strange appearance made Yu Yao suspicious. She nodded and followed Bai Fang into the house.

Liang Wan's home is quite cozy. You can see the lifestyle of her and Wei Tian from the things in the room. Whether it is teacups or utensils or the doorstep, they are all for two people. With a gentle cat, it feels good for two people to live in such a house.

Yu Yao looked at the things in the room while moving towards the sofa, imagining how wonderful it would be if she could live in a small room like this with Bai Fang in the future.

Just as she was thinking, Yu Yao turned around and prepared to sit on the sofa, when she suddenly caught a glimpse of a ball of black fluff coiled beside the sofa.

She was distracted just now and didn't pay much attention, so she thought the black ball merged into a part of the sofa pillow. Now that she got closer, she suddenly noticed that the black ball had a long, thin tail, leisurely draped over the sofa. Looking up carefully, she saw a pair of brown cat eyes staring at her without blinking.

Because it was completely black, it was curled up in the shadow of the sofa, motionless, and completely blended into the background. Apart from a pair of brown eyes, it was too dark to even see its face.

Isn't this the black cat Wei Tian mentioned? It seems that what Wei Tian said is true.

Yu Yao stared at the cat, and the cat also looked at Yu Yao. The man and the cat looked at each other, and neither of them moved.

Bai Fang walked over from behind, glanced at the sofa, and calmly chose a seat to sit down.

Yu Yao hesitated to speak about the dark cat. She quietly moved to a place far away from it and sat down, not daring to get close.

Its eyes were somewhat similar to what Wei Tian said. It stared at Yu Yao without blinking, as if observing her. It stared at her closely, moving its head as Yu Yao moved, staring at her intently, making Yu Yao feel an indescribable chill all over her body.

"You came here, have you found out any news about my roommate?" After Liang Wan closed the door, she turned around and poured a cup of tea for the two of them while asking.

Yu Yao nodded, "I have a clue, so I came over to ask you something."

"Is that so? Is she okay?" Liang Wan poured a cup of hot tea from the teapot and handed it to Yu Yao, then handed another cup to Bai Fang. She turned around and walked towards the refrigerator. "Would you like some fruit? And some cookies."

"Well... no need." Yu Yao waved her hand.

"Have some, these snacks are quite delicious." She turned and walked towards the refrigerator with a smile, almost not giving Yu Yao a chance to refuse.

Yu Yao withdrew her gaze and stared at the teacup in front of her. The white cup had a blue and white pattern printed on the bottom. It was a relatively ordinary style of teacup. Besides the small plate filled with melon seeds and nuts, there was also an old-fashioned teapot and jars of tea on the table.

She looked around again and noticed a paper bag on the sofa opposite, which contained a ball of yarn and a sweater she was knitting.

There is a poster of the God of Wealth on the wall and a cross-stitch under the coffee table.

In this house full of the atmosphere of young people's life, only these few things have an indescribable sense of incongruity, which is obviously different from the hobbies of the owner's age.

Yu Yao quietly nudged Bai Fang, signaling her to look at the tea set on the table. "Doctor Bai, are you interested in these? There's also knitting and cross-stitching."

Bai Fang shook his head calmly. "This is probably something that older people would be interested in. Putting that aside, some young girls might also like it, but there are definitely not many people who would like to put an image of the God of Wealth on their wall."

Yu Yao nodded in agreement, then quietly asked her to look at the black cat lying motionless on the sofa. "Do you see that cat?"

The cat probably took a look at Yu Yao, and now it lay there with no interest, yawning, squinting its eyes and taking a nap, indifferent to the two people's small discussion.

Bai Fang turned his head and stared at the cat for a long time. After thinking for a few seconds, he slowly turned his head and asked in confusion, "Which side is the head?"

Yu Yao coughed lightly and almost laughed. Now looking over, the cat had its eyes closed and was resting. Its entire body was curled up in a black ball, and its shape could not be distinguished at all. Once it closed its eyes, even its head could not be found. It was just a black ball of fur.

"Come, I got some snacks for you. Do you like raisins? Pumpkin seeds are delicious too." Liang Wan came over from the refrigerator with a small plate of snacks, put it on the table with a smile on her face, and happily pushed it in front of the two of them, enthusiastically inviting them to taste it.

Raisins? Pumpkin seeds?

Yu Yao stared blankly at the snacks on the table. Not to mention the raisins, pumpkin seeds are really rare nowadays. Where did Liang Wan buy them from?

She stared at the snacks and the steaming cup of tea in front of her.

Liang Wan, who was sitting opposite, put down her things and returned to her seat. She took out a half-knitted sweater from the paper bag and continued knitting with very skillful movements.

Yu Yao stared at her and thought for a while.

Although there was something indescribably strange about Liang Wan, she seemed quite normal and didn't show any strange behavior. The cat was also very quiet. Apart from looking at Yu Yao for a few seconds after entering the house, it didn't even move.

Neither Liang Wan herself nor the cat looked strange, and they were not as scary as Wei Tian described.

"Miss Liang." Bai Fang, who was standing next to her, started a conversation with Liang Wan after looking around the whole room.

Her eyes were fixed on the sweater in Liang Wan's hand, and she asked simply and directly, "Do you like knitting sweaters?"

Liang Wan was stunned for a moment, then smiled, "Um...yes."

Bai Fang raised the corner of his mouth slightly, "When did you start liking me?"

Liang Wan was silent for a moment, and thought seriously, "It seems like it started a long time ago?"

She looked a little doubtful about herself.

Bai Fang smiled and said, "Do you have any other sweaters you've knitted?"

When she asked this, the black cat that was taking a nap quietly beside her suddenly opened its eyes and looked straight at Bai Fang.

Liang Wan stared blankly at the sweater in her hand, "If you say so...it seems like we really don't have it at home."

"Huh? Why isn't there any at home?"

She began to feel confused.

Yu Yao could see that her condition was indeed a little confused, and her memory might have some problems. This was probably the influence of the soul that Liang Yubai mentioned.

She probably didn't know how to knit towels before and had no interest in it. She only started drinking tea and knitting towels and embroidering cross-stitch recently.

The fact that she did these things must be related to the soul that was possessed by her.

Seeing Liang Wan was confused, Yu Yao took the opportunity to ask, "Do you like tea?"

Liang Wan nodded, "I like it."

"How long have you liked it?"

“It seems like it’s been quite a while?”

"So when did you buy these tea sets?"

"Recently..."

"You've loved drinking tea for so long, why did you only buy these tea sets recently? They're all new."

Liang Wan lowered her eyes and stared at the tea set on the table. Both the cups and the teapot were brand new, and did not look like the kind of tea set that someone who had been enjoying drinking tea for a long time would have.

"Oh yeah..." She was a little confused again.

The black cat on the sofa had stood up, stared at the two people next to it, jumped off the sofa, slowly walked to Liang Wan, and rubbed her calf with its head.

"Songhua, be good." Liang Wan immediately lowered her head and touched the black cat's head, and her confused expression also eased.

"Did you pick up this cat of yours?" Yu Yao leaned on the sofa, staring at the black cat.

"Yes." Liang Wan smiled gently, "Songhua is her name. I gave it to her when I picked her up."

"So when did you pick her up?"

"Hmm..." Liang Wan pondered for a while, then fell silent, staring blankly at the cat at her feet, seeming a little confused.

"Meow~" The black cat called out to her and licked Liang Wan's fingers, bringing her back to her senses.

"I think I picked it up recently." Liang Wan turned around and smiled.

"Then where was this black cat on the night you thought your roommate was acting strangely?" Yu Yao spread her hands. "You never mentioned this black cat to us before."

Liang Wan paused, her expression a little nervous, mixed with a hint of confusion, "Probably in the living room... I didn't pay much attention at the time."

"You said you carried Tuantuan into your room, so where is Tuantuan now?" Yu Yao pressed further.

Liang Wan's expression was a little complicated. She seemed to be trying hard to recall what happened that night, but her confused memory made her at a loss.

If what Wei Tian said was true, then Liang Wan's memory itself was confused and incorrect. If she was asked carefully about the details, she would definitely not be able to tell it, which would make her doubt herself.

As Liang Wan got nervous, the black cat at her feet suddenly became unhappy, glaring at Yu Yao and growling at her.

"Ms. Liang, I want to ask you seriously again, that night, did you really see your roommate in the kitchen, and not you in the kitchen?" Yu Yao stood up, ignored the black cat's growl, and stepped up to question Liang Wan.

Liang Wan paused, glanced at the kitchen hesitantly, and looked a little dazed.

Yu Yao opened her mouth and wanted to ask something, but Bai Fang behind her reached out and pulled her back to the sofa.

"Don't worry, let her sort it out first." Bai Fang raised his chin. "Her memory is confused. There's no benefit in forcing her to have a confused memory. What's more, the black cat at her feet is about to pounce on you."

Yu Yao nodded obediently and sat back in her original seat. When she saw Liang Wan was a little shaken, she wanted to ask more questions.

Looking at the black cat again, it was staring at her with its claws stretched out. It might pounce on her face and scratch her in the next second.

Yu Yao shrank back, but she was still very obedient in the face of the cat whose fur stood on end.

"Miss Liang." Bai Fang calmly stared at Liang Wan, who looked a little dazed and doubtful. He smiled gently and asked softly, "We've found your roommate. Her name is Wei Tian, right?"

Liang Wan, who was in a trance, was stunned. She looked up at Bai Fang and nodded, "Well, is she okay?"

Bai Fang nodded affectionately, his eyes gentle. "She's worried about you too. If there's anything you don't understand, let's call her over and sort it out with you, okay?"

Liang Wan paused hesitantly, then nodded.

Yu Yao next to her immediately picked up her phone and contacted Liang Yubai.

"They should be here soon." After confirming the news from the other end, Yu Yao glanced at Bai Fang and then looked at Liang Wan opposite.

Liang Wan was no longer in the mood to knit a sweater. She felt a little nervous at the moment, as if she was afraid that some of her secrets would be discovered. Her face was full of anxiety, and the black cat at her feet was staring at Yu Yao, with hostility all over its body. The cat's face, which could not be seen clearly, showed an intention to drive them out.

However, it did not move, just staring at them, without pouncing or scratching, and occasionally let out a faint growl.

It seemed as Liang Yubai said, just like an ordinary little kitten.

After a while, there were knocks on the door. Yu Yao quickly stood up and ran to the door. "I'll go open the door."

Liang Wan didn't respond and watched Yu Yao open the door.

"It's a bit slow." Liang Yubai muttered softly as he entered the door, fanning himself and looking around the whole room as he walked in.

Wei Tian followed in from behind and as soon as he entered the room he looked towards Liang Wan.

"Liang Wan?"

Liang Wan raised her eyes and met Wei Tian's gaze. There was some surprise in her eyes. She stood up from the sofa and walked towards Wei Tian, "Wei Tian, you're back?"

"Yeah." Wei Tian nodded.

"Where's Tuan Tuan?"

"I put it in the cat cafe downstairs and asked the owner to take care of it for a while."

Liang Wan nodded, and frowned when she thought of Tuantuan.

Wei Tian stepped forward to comfort her, but his gaze suddenly shifted to the black cat following Liang Wan, and he paused.

"Oh? Is this the black cat you were talking about?" Liang Yubai also noticed the cat. He tilted his head slightly, bent down and approached the black cat, wanting to take a closer look.

The black cat seemed to be frightened by something. It suddenly jumped back and fled from Liang Yubai in panic. From a distance, it arched its body and let out a series of low growls of resistance, with all its fur standing on end.

"What's wrong with this cat?" Yu Yao was also startled. When she and Bai Fang entered the house before, the cat was quiet and just glanced at her without moving. But when it suddenly saw Liang Yubai, it was frightened and reacted very strongly, as if it had seen an enemy.

"Oh, it's okay." Liang Yubai straightened up and waved his fan calmly. "All cats behave like this when they see me. It's normal."

"Maybe I have a constitution that even cats are afraid of?"

She reacted calmly, and the black cat repeatedly warned her by baring its teeth and growling, but it had no way to drive Liang Yubai away, so it could only stand there and bark at her.

Liang Yubai retracted his gaze, walked past the cat to the sofa, sat down on the sofa very unceremoniously, pointed to the seat opposite, raised his chin, and said, "Close the door, come and sit down."

"Oh." Wei Tian responded subconsciously and turned around to close the door.

Liang Wan went over to comfort the black cat, touching its head and trying to soothe it.

Under the comfort of its owner, the black cat slowly calmed down, made a small sound, and lay down on the spot, lying on the floor, not approaching the sofa.

Liang Wan calmed the cat and sat back on the sofa. The five of them stared at each other face to face, sizing each other up. There was also a cat staring at them, and the atmosphere was a little stiff.

Yu Yao quietly picked up the teacup and took a sip of tea to relieve her nervousness.

"Miss Liang." Liang Yubai was the first to speak, breaking the silence, propping herself up with her fan. "Let me introduce myself first. My name is Liang Yubai, and I'm a professional who handles the strange incidents that happened to you. I was asked by Wei Tian to come and check on you."

"So I know your situation very well, so I'll just get straight to the point."

"Perhaps in your eyes, it's Miss Wei Tian who's the weird one, but the actual problem is you. Your memory and consciousness are confused, and you're not even aware of it. The evidence is that your memories conflict with your original memories. You can try to recall them carefully and think about it yourself."

Liang Wan clenched her hands nervously and nodded. Facing Liang Yubai, she was a little at a loss. "This... I already understand. When I was chatting with Miss Yu just now, I found that there seemed to be some problems with my memory."

Liang Yubai nodded. "Very good. It's enough for you to understand what happened to you. The cause was the black cat you picked up. It was the one that brought you trouble."

She stretched out her hand and pointed to the side. The black cat that was criticized immediately raised its head, its pupils widening.

"That cat..." Liang Wan glanced at the black cat, "It didn't seem to do anything to me?"

Liang Yubai sat upright and explained the reason to Liang Wan in a serious tone, "This cat didn't do anything to you, and it doesn't have the ability to do so. But it brought something to you. From the moment you picked it up, the soul that the cat brought with it has been attached to you."

"The possessed person will experience conflicting memories, their temperament will be slightly affected, and their habits will also change slightly."

Liang Wan swallowed nervously and asked dryly, "Will that... bring about bad things to me? Will I be replaced by that soul, or die?"

"Won't."

Liang Wan breathed a sigh of relief, but then became confused again, "Did I do anything strange to cause Wei Tian to disappear?"

"No, I'm not missing." Wei Tian immediately explained the whole story to Liang Wan, telling her what he had seen and knew, and his subsequent plans.

"Me? Holding a knife, holding Tuantuan down?!" Liang Wan was bewildered, her expression twisted into a knot. "Why would I do that to Tuantuan? Was it that spirit in me who did that?"

Liang Yubai pondered for a moment, "But I've done some research. The original owner of the soul in you was a very kind mother-in-law who loved cats. Generally speaking, she wouldn't do that."

Things fell back into the same contradiction as at the beginning.

"Could it be that the cat took the wrong soul? And put another soul in Liang Wan's body?" Yu Yao guessed curiously.

"How could it be wrong?!" A rebuttal immediately came from the side.

"This kind of thing is possible. People make mistakes occasionally, let alone a cat." Yu Yao spread her hands, confirming her suspicion.

The four people on the side stared at Yu Yao intently.

Yu Yao turned around in confusion. "What, what's wrong? My suspicion is possible."

"Were you... talking to the cat just now?" Bai Fang asked tentatively.

"Ah?" Yu Yao was bewildered. She turned her head to look at the cat and found it squatting on the ground, staring at her with an unhappy look on its face.

"Was that a cat's sound just now?" Yu Yao was stunned, but the expressions of the four people around her were not fake, so she looked tentatively towards the cat, "Are you sure you didn't pick the wrong one?"

The cat stamped its feet on the floor. "I was right next to my mother-in-law when she passed away. How could I have taken the wrong thing?"

"Oh..." Yu Yao nodded thoughtfully, "Then what happened before? You were in the living room, do you know anything?"

The black cat raised its chin slightly, staring at the people with its round eyes without blinking. "Grandma said that the cat was scared and refused to eat. Go to the kitchen and cook for it. What's wrong?"

Yu Yao was confused and turned around to repeat the cat's words to the people around her.

"Hmm..." Bai Fang pondered, "So, Liang Wan, who was leaning over, was in the kitchen to cook for the cat named Tuan Tuan?"

Wei Tian immediately retorted, "But I clearly saw Liang Wan holding a knife in her hand, and then she pressed her against the stove. The cat was frightened and kept meowing."
