Because of Liang Yubai's words, Liang Ling moved a little further away from the shore. It was a ghost that Liang Yubai knew, and there were two exorcists here, so the other party should not dare to do anything.
But she had just taken a few steps away when she saw Liang Yubai, who was squatting on the shore, suddenly sway down and plunge into the water with a splash, as if being pulled in by something. She hurried forward, ready to deal with this daring ghost in the water, but Liang Yubai just emerged from the water.
"It's okay, don't be nervous." Liang Yubai waved his hand. "She means no harm. It's not the first time this has happened anyway."
Isn't this the first time he dragged someone into the water without saying a word?!
Liang Ling frowned, feeling that Liang Yubai was still too close to the ghost.
"You come up first." Liang Ling squatted on the shore, ready to pull Liang Yubai up. Liang Yubai had just stretched out his hand when a pale hand stretched out from under the water, grabbed Liang Yubai's hand and pulled it back, leaving Liang Ling with nothing.
This made Liang Ling even more upset. She wanted to immediately pull out the female ghost hiding in the water and let her experience the exorcist's beating.
"She might be wary of you. After all, she doesn't know you, and you're a ghost exorcist. She might think you're a bad guy or something." Liang Yubai tried to explain and tried to climb to the shore by herself, but someone from behind kept pulling her.
Liang Yubai turned back in annoyance, snapped the phone away, and quickly reached the shore.
If Liang Ling hadn't gotten angry and was really determined to exorcise the ghost without any regard for the consequences, she wouldn't have bothered to speak up for a ghost that would drag her into the water the moment they met.
"Why do I feel like you are too close to the ghost and you are even speaking for her?" Liang Ling stood aside with a frown and helped Liang Yubai, who was soaked all over, up.
Liang Yubai didn't care much. He turned around and squatted on the shore again, and said to the blurry figure in the water: "I came here to discuss something with you."
The female ghost slightly emerged from the water, with only one eye showing. Perhaps her resentment had dissipated a little, and she looked somewhat like her original self. The eye that emerged from the water was very beautiful, but her face was still extremely pale, and her hair was messy and floating on the water. At first glance, she was still very scary.
"You have succeeded in your revenge now, right?" Liang Yubai squatted on the shore, wringing the water out of his hair and asked.
Makoto nodded.
"Is there anything else you want to do?"
Makoto shook his head.
"If you have no other obsessions, you will slowly disappear in the Yelai River. I think instead of staying there doing nothing, why don't you come with me to my house?"
"My family is a family of ghost exorcists, and we also raise ghosts. It's no problem for me to take one of you back. You can be my adopted ghost. It depends on whether you are willing or not."
Makoto floated on the water for a moment in silence, then dived into the water without a word.
"Is he willing or not?" Liang Yubai squatted there in confusion, stretched out his hand and pried into the water again, but didn't see Makoto come up again, and his shoulders drooped slightly.
"She doesn't want to?"
Liang Ling beside him nodded, "She's probably unwilling to do so. She's doing well in Yelai River, and the rest of her life is just waiting for herself to dissipate. There's no need for her to go to a strange place with you."
Liang Yubai didn't respond, and stared at the lake thoughtfully for a while. The sun gradually set, and the sunlight falling on the lake became much dimmer, but there was no sign of Makoto showing up. She just went back without saying a word, which made Liang Yubai feel extremely annoyed.
It turned out that this female ghost just treated her as a tool.
"Let's go back. There's no need to force her if she doesn't want to." Liang Ling reminded her, "Your body isn't healed yet. Don't stay here soaking wet."
Liang Yubai nodded, stood up, stared at the lake and sighed, "If you don't want to, forget it. I'll be leaving first."
Liang Ying led her away without turning back. Just as the two were about to turn back, there was a sound of water splashing from the lake behind them.
The two immediately turned around and saw a figure crawling out of the water and climbing up the shore. Her arms seemed a little twisted, which looked particularly weird, but the sunlight fell on her through the gaps in the leaves, and a shadow was vaguely visible. It was not a ghost's body.
Liang Yubai was stunned for a moment, and after a while, she realized that the "person" who had climbed out of the water slowly stood up. "Isn't this the doll I made for you?"
She remembered that they had parted ways in the park, and when they met again, Makoto was in the Yora River as a ghost, but she didn't know where the action figure she bought for her had gone. She unexpectedly found it in the lake.
"My arm is broken. It's not easy to attach it to the doll and bring it up." After Makoto stood firmly with the help of the doll's body, he twisted the bent arm. It was broken by Bai Fang in the underground warehouse last time. It needed to be tidied up before it could be used again.
"So the doll is in the lake." Liang Yubai walked over quickly and bent the broken arm of the doll back, trying hard to make it look like nothing was wrong, otherwise if people saw a strange person with a broken arm, it would scare the tourists.
But the doll had just come out of the water and was also wet. Two people standing together, all wet, would probably attract a lot of attention.
"Thank you for the possession. Are you okay?" Makoto stared at Liang Yubai, probably sizing up her condition, but the doll's face had no expression, and all that could be seen was that she was staring at Liang Yubai.
"It won't have any impact. You don't have to worry about it. I'm still a ghost exorcist after all." Liang Yubai shook his head and tried to change the subject. "What do you think of the suggestion I just made? Instead of staying in Yelai River, why don't you come with me to my family's place? You've been in the lake for so many years, you know there's no point staying here, right?"
Makoto nodded silently, then raised her head and glanced at Liang Ling behind her.
Ever since she came up, this stranger has been staring at her, with eyes and expression showing obvious hostility.
"Don't your family members mind?" Makoto asked, staring at Liang Ling. She had stickers on her body, and the ones she wore were sister stickers with Liang Yubai. Makoto had been at Yelai River watching this event for a whole day, and it was clear at a glance what kind of stickers represented what kind of relationships. She immediately understood what the relationship was between this person and Liang Yubai.
But the hostility in her eyes was not that simple.
"Of course my family doesn't mind. Raising ghosts is very common for exorcists. On the contrary, it's strange for an exorcist like me who has never raised a ghost." Liang Yubai answered very naturally, and it was obvious that he didn't regard this as a problem.
Makoto nodded slightly, shifting his gaze from Liang Ling to Liang Yubai, "Then I'd be happy to do so. After all, I don't have much to be attached to this place anymore, and I can repay you for helping me."
"This isn't really a favor. I'm not helping you out of a thank you." Liang Yubai waved his hands, saying he didn't care, but he seemed a little happy. "A ghost exorcist would want to do something about your special situation. That's their duty, after all."
Makoto nodded. As a ghost who had stayed in the Yelai River for so many years, she knew very well that not all exorcists would meddle in the affairs of ghosts like Liang Yubai.
"In return, I still want to do something for you, so take me away from here." Makoto responded.
Liang Yubai seemed a little happy, but she appeared very calm and didn't show it obviously. However, Liang Ling, who was standing behind her, had a visibly unhappy look on her face and stared at Makoto.
"Xiaobai, I think you should ask your family in advance. They won't agree to you adopting a ghost of unknown origin." Liang Ling stood up and couldn't help but remind Liang Yubai.
"It's okay." Liang Yubai turned around and shrugged, pulling Makoto up with him. "It's just bringing a ghost home, there's no need to be so serious. Do you still have to interview me?"
She simply pulled Makoto away, not intending to worry about her concerns.
The more Liang Ling cared about Makoto, the inexplicably appearing ghost, the easier it was for her to forget what happened in the woods. This was also the original purpose. Of course, Liang Yubai herself didn't care much about what she said. Liang Ling's attitude towards ghosts has always been distant.
Seeing that Liang Yubai was not going to listen to her, Liang Ling became more and more dislikeful of Zhenqin, especially when she realized that he was a big ghost who had been alive for many years, she became even more worried.
With just a little mental processing, one can imagine a cunning ghost deceiving a simple exorcist who is inexperienced in the world.
It's like a mother worrying about her child entering society.
Liang Yubai had already gone to Yelai River to pick up Zhenqin, while Yu Yao had just woken up.
She fell asleep around noon and woke up at dusk. After a while of being in a daze, it was already dark. She slept very soundly during this period and was particularly energetic when she woke up. She could see the lights on in the living room through the crack in the bedroom door. It was probably Bai Fang who came back from get off work. She could also hear some of Bai Fang's voice, probably talking to someone.
Yu Yao yawned, climbed out of bed, and walked slowly into the living room in her slippers, looking energetic.
I saw Bai Fang standing on the balcony with her cell phone, talking on the phone, her back to the living room. After dark, all the lights in the city were on. She was leaning sideways on the balcony, with half of her face immersed in the dim light, which made her look particularly beautiful. She lowered her eyes, her voice was soft, and her expression was very gentle.
Like a painting, Yu Yao stood there and stared for a long time, until Bai Fang noticed her presence and turned to meet her gaze.
"Then I'll hang up. Take care of yourself." Bai Fang left this final sentence before hanging up the phone and returning to the balcony.
"Are you awake?" Bai Fang gently reached out and touched Yu Yao's head, pinching her soft cheeks to wake her up from her dazed state.
"Who are you talking to on the phone?" Yu Yao came back to her senses belatedly and asked.
"It's my mother." Bai Fang answered simply and directly, then lowered his eyes to stare at Yu Yao, "I told her that I had a lover, and she said she wanted to see you and asked me to take you back."
Yu Yao was stunned for a moment.
