Bai Fang turned around and returned to the car. Yu Yao was sitting there, curiously looking out.
After Bai Fang sat back down, Yu Yao asked quietly, "Do you have people here too?"
Bai Fangwei nodded, "It's almost my area, so this is where my people are."
Yu Yao seemed to understand and was a little confused, but after the commotion just now, everyone in the carriage looked at the two of them cautiously. Although they were two seemingly weak women, no one dared to underestimate them.
"It's quite chaotic around my home, so don't worry if you encounter anything strange." Bai Fang said with a smile: "I will protect you."
Yu Yao nodded. She didn't know what chaos Bai Fang was talking about, but with Bai Fang around, she basically didn't worry about such problems happening. This was a sense of security.
She reached out and hugged Bai Fang, who leaned beside her with a satisfied look on his face, squinting his eyes and continued to take a nap, waiting to reach his destination.
The carriage moved forward a little further, and people got on and off one after another. Only Yu Yao sat there, dozing off, looking dazed. She didn't know how long she had been sitting there when Bai Fang suddenly reached out and shook her, saying softly, "We've arrived at our stop. Let's get off first."
Yu Yao raised her eyes sleepily and looked outside in confusion, "Are we there yet?"
She quickly wiped her face and straightened her clothes. "Are we going to see my aunt soon?"
Bai Fang smiled and shook his head, "We've just arrived at our stop. We still have to walk a little further after getting off the bus."
She reached out and pulled Yu Yao, took the luggage, and got out of the car together.
Yu Yao followed Bai Fang out of the car in a daze and looked around. They slowly drove from the brand new and clean new station to an old and somewhat old station. Looking outside the station, this was also a somewhat old big city, quite different from the environment where they lived before, but it was very lively.
"This is where I grew up. The security here isn't very good, but it's still quite lively and crowded." Bai Fang smiled and led Yu Yao out of the station. Holding her hand with one hand and pulling the suitcase with the other, the two of them stood in an old but exceptionally lively city.
It seems that many things here have not been repaired. There are some cracks on the ground and the walls of the houses. The street corners and alleys are full of traces of time. Compared with the brand new white walls, the walls here are a bit cracked and yellowed, and the bricks on the ground are bumpy, like an old city that has not been taken care of.
People passing by the two of them looked at them quietly. Some smiled and left with their friends, while others sat on the street and watched silently. But Yu Yao could feel that many eyes were on them.
There are curious glances and malicious speculations, hidden on the streets, in the alleys, in the windows on the second floor, and in every person passing by.
Yu Yao couldn't say it was particularly strange, but she always felt that although this place seemed peaceful on the surface, there was an unspeakable danger hidden underneath.
"Don't be in a daze." Bai Fang pulled her, "Follow me closely and don't wander off. This place is different from the barbecue place I took you to before."
Yu Yao responded, took Bai Fang's hand and followed her, turning her head to look around. If she hadn't followed Bai Fang to such a strange place, she would have almost thought that she had been abducted by someone.
"Is this where Dr. Bai grew up?" Yu Yao mused. "It feels just as incredible as Dr. Bai."
"Really?" Bai Fang glanced at the surrounding buildings. "This place is still the same as I remembered it. After being away for a few years, I came back and nothing has changed. The people here and the things here are the same."
As she spoke, she turned her head and glanced at Yu Yao beside her. "Bringing you here feels like leading a little white rabbit into a wolf's den."
"Hmm?" Yu Yao looked confused and was trying hard to think about this sentence when a loud noise came from not far away on the street ahead.
It seemed like someone was causing a disturbance and fighting. The distance was a bit far, so the scene was not very clear. I could only vaguely catch a glimpse of two figures struggling and fighting, and they were immediately blocked by the crowd of onlookers.
Some people who had been sitting idly and listlessly on the street suddenly became excited as if they had been injected with chicken blood. They ran over to watch, like spectators in an underground boxing ring, shouting excitedly and cheering for one of the sides. The noisy sounds instantly broke the tranquility of the street.
"Alas." Bai Fang stopped and sighed helplessly, "I was just trying to get you home safely, but why did you end up causing trouble here?"
There was some worry on her face. If she wanted to go home, this was the only way. Because of the sudden fight, the passage on the street had been blocked by the crowd. It was packed and impossible to get through. She didn't want to take Yu Yao there to see anything, but if she went there alone, she would always worry that if she left Yu Yao here, she might be taken away as soon as she turned around.
"What are they looking at? Is fighting really that interesting?" Yu Yao murmured in confusion, feeling very confused by those people who were shouting excitedly.
"It's just the nature of the people here. Don't worry about it." Bai Fang smiled and touched her head. "Everyone living in this area doesn't come from a good background. It used to be a gathering place for major gangs, but it suffered a blow and all the organizations disbanded. But many people still stay here and live here."
"Over time, it's become what it is now. Most of the kids here have parents who are former gang members, and the kids they raise aren't any better. But that has nothing to do with you."
Yu Yao found it a little unbelievable. If many parents here were not good people, what would the school be like?
"Let me see... We can probably go around through the alley on the side." Bai Fang raised his chin, glanced at the surrounding buildings, and pulled the well-behaved Yu Yao to go around them.
Just as he turned around and walked to the entrance of an alley, a drunk young man came out. He was wearing a suit but looked quite unkempt. He was drunk in broad daylight and bumped into two people in a daze. He glanced at them with a confused look, smiled, straightened his shaking body, and started to talk to them.
"Two ladies, are you free? Let's go for a drink together?" The other person, reeking of alcohol, tried to approach them, but before he could get any closer, Bai Fang kicked him away ruthlessly.
With a cold face, she kicked the drunk man aside, then turned to look at Yu Yao with a smile, "You can't be kind to strangers here, it will make them think you are easy to bully."
Yu Yao nodded in confusion and was pulled into the alley by Bai Fang.
The alley smelled unpleasant and a bit damp. Once inside, it stretched in all directions, its walls covered in a chaotic mess of graffiti, layer upon layer, so much so that the designs were barely discernible. Each dim alley was crammed with various houses crammed into a small space, with the occasional person sitting at the door.
After Yu Yao entered, she immediately felt dizzy and didn't know where she was. When she looked up, she could only see a small sky above her head. She felt indescribably depressed. As she walked, she could hear the sound of blushing and heartbeating coming from a house somewhere.
This place is completely different from what Yu Yao imagined.
Although it's different, I always feel that I'm one step closer to the real Dr. Bai.
"I remember that if we go out from here, we can just bypass that area." Bai Fang muttered, his eyes sweeping across the graffiti on the wall, and he pulled Yu Yao's hand and walked out of an alley.
The cheers from the crowd were still going on, and no one knew what had happened to the fight in the crowd. But after coming out of the alley and going around to the other side of the crowded crowd, Yu Yao was not only impressed by the interconnectedness of the place, she was also completely dizzy.
Bai Fang glanced back at the crowd blocking the street, frowning slightly and muttering in annoyance, "Why isn't anyone doing anything about this? It's been blocked for several minutes now. If they don't disperse, more and more people will gather and it will turn into a melee. Who's going to clean it up?"
Just as he finished muttering, a woman suddenly walked out from the alley opposite. She was wearing a black tight skirt, her hair was tied up, and she was wearing a pair of exquisite high heels. From her clothes and appearance, it can be seen that she is not a young woman, but her temperament and figure are exceptionally good, and she is also very well maintained.
Compared to ordinary weak women, there is a lot of hostility between her eyebrows and her eyes are quite intimidating.
Yu Yao noticed the unique aura surrounding her the moment she appeared.
She snatched the baseball bat from the gangster next to her with an annoyed look on her face and hit the glass window next to her hard. The sound of the glass being smashed was deafening.
There was only a loud "bang" and glass fragments fell to the ground. The people nearby were frightened and stunned. The noise on the street suddenly quieted down, and even the air froze for a moment.
"Who told you to gather here?!" The woman frowned, her eyes sharp as she scanned the large crowd gathered there. "Who started it? Who started the fight? Who told you to just watch?! Huh?"
After several questions were raised with violent anger, a large number of people gasped, and no one dared to answer.
The street was quiet for a few seconds before a man close to the woman timidly said, "Don't dare to do it next time. We'll leave right away."
The woman glared at him angrily and swung the baseball bat at him. "Why don't you get out of here right now?! It's all because of you guys messing around. I'm so bad I've even lost several rounds of cards!"
The gangster was confused. Could he blame them for the bad luck he had caused by making trouble outside?
But the gangster didn't dare to say it.
"Yes, yes!" He could only agree repeatedly and quickly ran away.
"Hello, Auntie!"
"Let's go now!"
"We are ignorant and have disturbed you. Sorry, sorry."
Following the sound of the response, the people nearby immediately fled in all directions, leaving the street, pouring into the alley, returning to the street, or rushing into the building. Even those who were fighting before were quickly dragged away. In the blink of an eye, except for the bloodstains on the street ground, it was as if nothing had happened and the previous tranquility was restored.
"Wow, that auntie is so powerful and fierce." Yu Yao stood by and watched the show. She couldn't help but sigh, "The people here are really powerful. Even a pretty auntie on the street is so intimidating."
Bai Fang turned his head thoughtfully and stared at Yu Yao, "...That's my mother."
