13 ? Identity

13 Identity

I am the wife of the president of Jingtian Group.

Song Qinggui took a taxi to Jingtian Hospital, where the entrance was bustling with activity.

A row of wreaths was laid out, and a banner was unfurled that read, "Heartless hospital, disregarding human life."

In front of the banner, a woman was wailing, while a man held a phone in one hand, live-streaming, and pointed at the hospital with the other, hurling vulgarities. People were taking pictures, others were watching the commotion, and hospital security guards surrounded them, but none dared to intervene, fearing a physical altercation would escalate the situation.

Song Qinggui avoided the crowd and entered the hospital through a side entrance, where Xiaoqian was already waiting for her at the information desk.

Seeing Song Qinggui arrive, Xiaoqian felt as if she had been granted a pardon: "Sister, you're finally back! What do we do now?"

As Song Qinggui walked, he said, "Invite them in, but don't let them have any physical altercations, and don't stop them from livestreaming."

"Aren't you going to stop the live stream?" Xiaoqian followed behind Song Qinggui. "This live stream already has tens of thousands of likes, and the comments are all criticizing the hospital. Are you going to let the situation escalate?"

The two entered the elevator.

Song Qinggui: "At this point, public opinion is out of control. The only way for the hospital to face the problem head-on and give the public an explanation is to... Is the phone stand in the small conference room still there?"

"Yes, I am." Xiaoxi suddenly realized something: "Sis, you're not going to start a live stream too, are you?"

"Okay." Song Qinggui handed the phone to Xiaoqian: "Use this phone later, it has my own account on it."

"No need for a hospital?"

“Medical institution accounts are subject to strict platform review, and live streaming rooms are easily banned,” Song Qinggui explained. “It’s safer to use my own account.”

The two arrived at the small conference room. Xiaoqian called the medical guide to ask them to invite the person up, while she turned on Song Qinggui's phone to prepare to start a live broadcast.

But upon closer inspection, Xiaoqian was shocked to discover that Song Qinggui had 350,000 followers, though the latest video on his account was six years ago.

Wow... Xiaoqian exclaimed, "Sister, she's a first-generation internet celebrity!"

Seeing Xiaoqian's astonished expression, Song Qinggui couldn't help but laugh: "When I was young, I took the wrong path and became a beauty blogger for a while in order to make money."

Xiaoqian suppressed her surprise: "You already have 350,000 followers, and you're still... taking a detour..."

Song Qinggui smiled but said nothing more.

The troublemaking couple was invited up, followed by a number of relatives and friends, making them a formidable force.

As the man walked inside, he said into his phone screen, "Brothers, did you all see that? You can't get anywhere by talking things out. We have to make a scene like this so that someone will step in and solve the problem!"

Song Qinggui stood up and said to them, "You've been crying and shouting for so long, you must be tired. Please sit down. Xiao Zhang, go and get a case of bottled water."

Everyone responded and sat down.

The man continued into the phone, "Brothers, I'll stop here for now. I'm going to seek justice for my son. I'll definitely report the results to you all when they come out."

"Wait a minute." Song Qinggui interrupted the man: "Let's continue the live stream. Everyone in the live stream is very concerned about our dispute, and I've also started a live stream on my phone."

The man then noticed the phone propped up at the other end of the conference room: "Why did you take pictures of us without our permission?"

After saying that, he got up and walked toward Song Qinggui's phone.

Song Qinggui gave a wink, and the security captain pulled him back.

"Li Xiong," Song Qinggui called the man's name, "you didn't ask for our consent when you photographed our hospital colleagues and patients. Be fair."

Li Xiong was about to start cursing.

Song Qinggui didn't give him that chance: "As long as you agree to the live broadcast, we'll be frank today and find out the truth about your demands and the dispute. If it really is our fault, we'll agree to the compensation amount you're asking for."

Xiaoqian kept watching the live stream.

The number of viewers in the live stream has exploded. In just ten minutes, the number of likes has exceeded 30,000, and the barrage of comments is endless, all of them cursing the hospital.

"You know to turn when your car hits a wall, you know to buy stocks when they go up, you know to shake your nose when it's running down your throat, and you know to compensate others properly when things get out of hand."

"I always said private hospitals are unreliable. Stay away from them, forever!"

"That woman at the hospital is pretty, but how can she be so heartless?!"

Xiaoqian was extremely anxious, but when she looked up at Song Qinggui, he still appeared calm and composed.

What exactly is my sister planning...?

Upon hearing that there was hope of getting the money, Li Xiong slowed down. He sat down slowly, looking at Song Qinggui with a mixture of belief and doubt: "I want three million. Can you make that decision?"

Song Qinggui's lips curved into a smile: "Yes."

The middle-aged man next to Li Xiong scoffed, "You're just a young woman, how can you make decisions about three million? Let me tell you, this is a matter of life and death, don't try to fool us! Go find your boss! We want to talk to him directly!"

Song Qinggui remained calm and composed: "I said I can make the decision."

"Oh ho, you've got quite the nerve. What makes you think you can do that?" The man spat on the ground.

Song Qinggui suppressed his smile: "As the wife of the president of Jingtian Group and the director of the medical department of Jingtian Hospital, is that enough?"

Li Xiong and the others exchanged glances, their eyes revealing joy; it seemed her words really worked.

The live stream chat exploded with comments once again.

"Wow, things have taken an unexpected turn."

"That's fantastic! Bring out the sunflower seeds."

"How did the CEO's wife end up working in hospital administration?"

"As someone who works in the medical field myself, all I can say is that the doctors at this hospital have it so tough. The head of the medical affairs department is the boss's wife. How are we supposed to live like this...?"

Conference room in the Jingtian Group building.

Xue Luzheng was holding an emergency meeting with his partners and the public relations department when his assistant knocked on the door and came in to tell him that Song Qinggui had started a live broadcast. The group quickly turned on their phones and happened to see Song Qinggui revealing his identity.

Xue Lu smiled wryly: "Heh...you do know how to use someone else's power to intimidate others."

After calming everyone down, the heads of several departments arrived one after another, and Song Qinggui began to get down to business.

"These are the director of the ultrasound department, the director of the obstetrics department, and the director of the neonatal intensive care unit," Song Qinggui explained. "They will explain your child's condition to you again."

"Hello……"

"You don't need to spout nonsense here." The head of the ultrasound department was about to speak when Li Xiong interrupted him: "We don't understand what you're saying, and neither do the guys in the live broadcast room. You can say whatever you want about things we ordinary people don't understand. I'm here today for one purpose. My wife gave birth to a child at your hospital, and that child came home with me, got sick, and died. But now, a paternity test using his blood has proven he's not our child. I just want to ask your hospital, in this situation, shouldn't you apologize to my wife and me? Shouldn't you compensate us?!"

“If what you say is true, then of course you should compensate me,” Song Qinggui said calmly. “But before I offer compensation, I have a few questions for you, is that alright?”

"Fine! Ask away." Li Xiong spread his hands on the table, looking fearless.

"Can I see your paternity test report?" Song Qinggui asked.

Li Xiong exchanged glances with the people around him, then nodded, and the person next to him handed the report to Song Qinggui.

Song Qinggui held the report in his hand, gave Xiaoqian a look, and gestured for Xiaoqian to bring over the phone camera.

While flipping through the report, Song Qinggui casually asked, "When the child just passed away, you came to the hospital once and asked for 500,000. Why are you asking for 3 million this time?"

Li Xiong sneered: "If you can't cure the illness, it's a problem with your ability, but switching the baby is a hundred times worse than having a problem with your ability! And your attitude is terrible! A child, a living human life, 500,000 is reasonable! You're not even willing to give that much money! You've never truly realized your mistake, you won't learn your lesson until you're taught a lesson!"

"I see." Song Qinggui nodded. "Then why did you suddenly decide to do a paternity test with the deceased child?"

Li Xiong's face showed inexplicable anger: "Because no one in our family has ever had a heart condition! How could our child possibly have a heart condition?!"

"So, after you did the paternity test, you confirmed that the child who passed away wasn't yours, right?" Song Qinggui looked up at Li Xiong.

“Yes!” Li Xiong said matter-of-factly, “The paternity test report is right in your hands, are you blind!”

Song Qinggui raised his eyebrows, his gaze sharp: "Since the babies were switched at birth, shouldn't your first reaction be to find your biological child? But since you came to the hospital today, your only request has been money. Is that reasonable?"

Li Xiong's eyes flickered: "Of course we need to find our...children! One thing at a time! We need to apologize! We need compensation! It's all so that our own children can live healthy lives in the future! So that they won't be harmed by heartless hospitals like yours!"

As soon as Li Xiong said this, the tone of the live stream chat shifted.

"Yes, why doesn't he look for the children..."

"Let the bullets fly a little longer..."

Song Qinggui waved, signaling Xiaoqian to bring her phone closer, with the camera pointed at the report in her hand.

Song Qinggui pointed to the end of the report, looking at Li Xiong: "First of all, a qualified paternity test report must have the signature and date of the person being tested handwritten, but this report is all machine-printed. Therefore, this report is unqualified."

Li Xiong flew into a rage upon hearing this. He stood up and shouted, "You say it's substandard and that's it?! The monitoring agency stamped it... stamped it!"

Song Qinggui didn't argue with him about the fact that "official seals can be forged." She turned back to the previous page of the report and continued, "The most important results of a paternity test report are the genetic paternity index and the genetic overlap rate."

Song Qinggui pointed his index finger to a number on the report, and Xiaoqian's camera focused on that number as well.

Song Qinggui: "This child shares 39.99% of your genes with him."

"Why are you talking so much nonsense?!" Li Xiong was completely impatient. "Isn't the conclusion on the last page? It confirms no blood relation!"

Song Qinggui barely suppressed the urge to roll his eyes and said with his last bit of patience, "Even humans have a 40% genetic overlap with apples. With your genetic overlap... did you give birth to a bicycle seat?"

After saying this, Song Qinggui turned to the security captain before Li Xiong could react and said, "Li Xiong forged a judicial appraisal report and official seal to defraud the hospital. Call the police."

As soon as he finished speaking, Li Qiangxiong completely lost his mind, climbed onto the table, and tried to snatch the report from Song Qinggui's hand.

People around also started to intervene, shouting, "Stop filming! I told you to stop filming!"

Just as a man was about to hit Xiaoqian, Song Qinggui quickly pulled Xiaoqian back and pushed the man away.

Enraged, the man slapped Song Qinggui across the face.

"Slap!" The man slapped the man with all his might.

After a crisp sound, Song Qinggui heard a ringing in her ears. She felt dizzy and shook her head, but before she could stand up, a fist hit her in the stomach again.

She collapsed to the ground in pain, gasping for breath and curling up in a ball.

The last scene shown in the live stream was Song Qinggui being slapped.

Xue Lu's pupils constricted. Without even putting on his coat, he got up and rushed out of the conference room.
