Chapter 71 "You can touch it."...

Jiang Nuanyu was unaware that Liang Qi, who always seemed so calm and indifferent, could actually be so full of desire.

The moment he entered, without any preamble, his kisses rained down upon her, silent yet undisguisedly urgent. His hands reached behind her, gripping her waist and pulling her close. She felt a sharp pain from his restraint, yet it was also stimulating; she relaxed her hips and responded fully to his touch.

She actually wanted to take a shower first, but she wanted to be with him more.

The door closed, the hallway lights were turned off, and the white gauze curtains gently trembled the soft moonlight inside.

He held the back of her head, tilted his head to the side, and forcefully sucked on her lips. Her lips went numb from his sucking, the intense, painful contact between them caused her pain. She opened her mouth to embrace him. His hot breath sprayed onto her face like a hot stream. She retreated step by step, her head hitting the wall through his hand.

He leaned down, pulled his hand away, and pressed her against the wall with his lips. He kissed her as she took off her suit jacket and tie. After brushing her shoulder, the bag strap slipped off with a "snap," and her bag fell to the ground.

He put one arm around her waist, lifted her up again, and made room to unzip the back of her skirt.

She broke out in a light sweat, and as her skirt parted to the sides, a cool sensation ran from her neck and back to her lower back. He licked and kissed behind her ear, and she clung tightly to his shoulders, her skin and mind tingling with pleasure, her breath punctuated by a few intermittent moans of unbearable ecstasy.

His lips pressed against her ear, his warm breath seeping in, making her heart tremble.

His voice was low and hoarse: "Take it off for me."

The room fell silent instantly; the sounds of heartbeats and heavy breathing subsided, gradually replaced by the explosive sounds of passion.

The glance they exchanged while sitting formally in the restaurant, sparked by a background music playing in a public place, was now being revisited in a tacit moment, and the seed planted began to ignite.

Liang Qi leaned back against the wall, propped himself up, and stared at her with his dark eyes, saying, "Take it off."

Her heartbeat was heightened by instinctive shame, stuck in her throat like the pounding of a bugle. In the darkness, Jiang Nuanyu swallowed her dry throat, met his gaze, raised her hand, unbuttoned the cuffs of her dress, and tucked her arms into her sleeves.

Thus, "Versace on the floor".

He pinched her fingers together, and she felt a chill in front of her as two soft pieces of latex fell to the ground. He squeezed her and kissed her again.

She frantically and eagerly tried to unbutton his shirt, her fingers trembling with excitement, almost out of control, failing to unbutton even one button several times. He slowly pulled away from her lips, and knowing he was watching, she grew even more anxious, her voice trembling, "I don't think I can do it..."

His chest heaved, and after glancing at her, he seemed to lose patience, tilting his head back and placing his hand on the back of her hand to help her.

He lifted her up, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. Their skin pressed tightly together through a layer of slippery sweat, and she whimpered contentedly, "Mmm..."

She rested her chin on his shoulder, her face against his neck, her arms and legs wrapped tightly around him. The only sound in the room was their disordered, overlapping breaths. After a long while, he pulled her wrist off his shoulder, turned his head, and kissed her again.

Her legs were still draped over his waist, her back pressed against the wall, as she kissed him to ease their breaths. He parted her lips, his eyes fixed on her.

She gently touched the fine beads of sweat on his chest, silently gazing into his eyes. In the unlit room, his gaze was mostly obscured, but she could feel that deep, all-encompassing look with unparalleled clarity, and her heart softened in a indulgent way.

He kissed her cheek and asked, slightly out of breath, "Want to take a shower?"

He meant together, and she pursed her lips: "...Mmm."

He reached behind her waist and took off her high heels, while still holding her with his other arm, as he couldn't bend down.

He glanced at the clothes scattered on the ground and threw his shoes on his shirt.

Seeing her staring blankly, he said, "We'll tidy up later, okay?"

She nodded: "Okay."

He carried her to the bathroom, turned on the light, and the surroundings became bright. The passionate and enchanting moments in the entryway seemed to become even clearer and more impossible to hide.

As Jiang Nuanyu passed by the bathroom mirror, she saw her naked body hanging on him, and her face immediately turned as red as blood.

Liang Qi placed her on the shower floor and took off his trousers and shoes outside. When he pulled back the curtain, Jiang Nuanyu was startled and instinctively raised her hand to cover her chest, her dark eyes wide open as she looked at him.

Liang Qi paused for a moment, then slowly smiled and said, "Then I'll go out first?" He started to back out.

Jiang Nuanyu quickly grabbed his arm: "...No need."

With the shower curtain drawn, Jiang Nuanyu silently moved a step to the side and pushed the showerhead lever up a bit to accommodate Liang Qi's height.

The day before, when Liang Qi was washing her, she was in a daze and kept her eyes closed almost the whole time. Now she couldn't stay in his arms anymore. Her eyes were wandering back and forth, and she didn't dare to look anywhere. She also kept trying to cover her body.

Liang Qi stood halfway down the water, scrutinizing her expression for a while before his gaze boldly fell upon her, tracing a line across her chest before finally noticing the red mark he had left on her waist from pinching her.

He reached out and rubbed her lower back, then pulled her into his arms, taking her hands and placing them on his waist. Her breath hitched, and her small hands awkwardly gripped him.

He looked down at her and said, "What are you shy about?"

She kept her mouth closed and didn't speak.

The water cascaded down on them, tiny droplets splashing onto her eyelashes, lingering for a moment before trickling into her eyes. He watched, gently wiping her eyelids with his thumb, and asked, "Don't you like this?"

She shook her head very slightly: "No."

He symbolically lifted her chin, without forcing her, and said, "Then look at me."

She seemed to trust him unconditionally, slowly raising her eyes, the moisture making them appear clear and pure. He met her gaze, lowered his head, and kissed her.

Jiang Nuanyu tilted her head back slightly, letting him hold her in his mouth. Clear water flowed down his face, across his soft lips, and then mingled with hers. Though their skin was touching, her heart was calm and peaceful. She wrapped her arms around his waist without hesitation.

After rinsing, Liang Qi reached into the niche outside the shower stall, only to find it empty. He turned around and asked, "Where's the towel?"

Jiang Nuanyu was rinsing the foam off the floor tiles with the showerhead when she blinked and said, "Oh, it's in the dryer. I forgot to tell you before I showered. It should be dry by now, or there are two pink ones in the dresser drawer next to the bed."

Liang Qi paused for a moment, estimating that by now, she should have dried herself by now, at the latest before she went out to eat, and said, "No need."

He spoke with such seriousness that Jiang Nuanyu secretly pursed her lips.

However, while Liang Qi was on the phone that night, she still ordered two bathrobes from the same brand as those in his home, along with two dark-colored bath towels and two pairs of slippers that fit Liang Qi's size.

Before putting down her phone, she thought for a moment and then picked out two more sets of men's loungewear.

After buying everything, another thought popped into her head: underwear... should she need some too?

She hovered the search bar for a few seconds, then swiped her finger back to the desktop, turned off the phone screen, and flipped it to the side.

...Maybe next time.

*

The next day, Monday, when the alarm clock rang, Jiang Nuanyu was still fast asleep in her blankets.

The alarm kept ringing, so she frowned, reached under her pillow for her phone, and turned it off.

Opening his eyes and sitting up, Liang Qi was already up and dressed. The suit jacket draped over the back of the sofa was different from the one he wore yesterday; it was probably delivered by the driver early that morning.

He was fastening his cufflinks by the sofa when he heard her movement. He looked up and asked, "Getting up?"

Jiang Nuanyu did not answer him.

It was probably a cloudy day, and the house was much darker than usual. The sunlight from outside filtered through the white gauze curtains, casting a faint gray shadow in the room, making his shirt appear even whiter.

Her intuition told her that he was leaving.

Jiang Nuanyu asked, "Are you leaving Paris?"

Liang Qi paused for a second or two, then said, "Hmm."

Jiang Nuanyu was completely wide awake, but she didn't know what to say. She lowered her head and traced the pattern on the duvet cover with her fingers.

Liang Qi fastened his watch, straightened his cuffs, and said, "I'll take you to the magazine office."

Jiang Nuanyu paused in her work, didn't look up, and said sullenly, "I'll take the subway, I don't need to take up your time."

Liang Qi said, "It won't delay anything."

He turned and sat down on the sofa, seemingly in no hurry.

Jiang Nuanyu remained silent for a moment, then turned off the next alarm clock that hadn't gone off yet, got out of bed to wash up and put on makeup.

It had drizzled in the morning, and the temperature was a bit low, so she chose a pair of trousers and a champagne-colored satin shirt. After changing, she gathered her hair back into a low ponytail and carefully combed away any stray hairs in front of the mirror.

At first, Jiang Nuanyu would glance at Liang Qi every now and then. His gaze was fixed on his phone screen, his expression neither serious nor casual, and she couldn't tell what he was looking at. But Liang Qi was so quiet that by the latter half, she was completely immersed in her daily routine.

She tidied herself up, found the bag she needed to carry that day, and opened the shoe cabinet to change her shoes. When she saw the high heels from yesterday, she suddenly remembered that there was someone else in the house.

She turned her head and saw Liang Qi leaning against the side of the sofa with his hands in his pockets. He had already put on his suit jacket and was looking at her with great interest.

Jiang Nuanyu didn't know how long he had been watching her. For some reason, she felt a little hot. She took out her shoes, put her feet in them to steady herself, adjusted her bag strap, and turned to him, saying, "I'm ready."

Upon hearing this, Liang Qi withdrew his gaze, picked up the bag containing a change of clothes from the sofa, and stood beside her: "Let's go."

As the elevator descended to the first floor, Jiang Nuanyu unconsciously slowed down, and Liang Qi, who had taken half a step, suddenly stopped, their hands touching.

Unsure who moved first, the two hands naturally clasped together the next second.

The rain outside had just stopped, and a refreshing coolness filled the air. His palms were warm, and so were hers.

In the car, Jiang Nuanyu still didn't ask Liang Qi where he was going this time. Anyway, as long as he wasn't in Paris, it didn't matter to her.

Her home wasn't far from the company, and in the blink of an eye, she was already halfway there. The red light came on, the car stopped, and Jiang Nuanyu looked out the window at the sky after the rain had cleared. There were still a few raindrops on the car window, each one a microcosm of its own world.

Suddenly, she remembered something, touched her bag, and turned to look at Liang Qi. Her eyes were bright and sparkling; it was clear she had something to say.

Liang Qi raised an eyebrow and asked her, "What's wrong?"

She flashed a glimpse of her white teeth, her smile carrying a playful ingratiation and a hint of slyness, as she asked, "Mr. Liang, may I add you on WeChat? If we can't meet in person, and neither of us is busy, we can video chat...?"

She didn't sound like she was asking for something; the slightly rising tone at the end of her voice made it sound more like she was being coquettish.

Liang Qi looked at her, speechless for a moment. Just as he had thought, the expression and tone of her voice when she called him that were indeed worth savoring.

Jiang Nuanyu blinked and urged him, "Hmm?"

Liang Qi took out his phone from the inside pocket of his suit, unlocked it, and handed it to her.

Jiang Nuanyu took the phone, but her mind didn't immediately process what she was seeing. Looking at the icons on the screen, she felt like she was intruding into Liang Qi's private space, and she felt incredibly guilty.

She found the WeChat icon and tapped it, and suddenly, Yu Miao's image popped into her mind.

Jiang Nuanyu still remembers the scene when Yu Miao wanted to add Liang Qi on WeChat, and the message Yu Miao sent her about Liang Qi the night before she came to Paris, which she never asked clearly.

Jiang Nuanyu glanced at Liang Qi furtively; he was looking out the window. While typing her account into the search bar, she casually asked, "Did you...see Yu Miao later?"

Liang Qi looked away, thought for a moment, and asked, "Your friend?"

"Um."

"I've met him," Liang Qi said.

Jiang Nuanyu's typing fingers froze, a surge of jealousy rising within her. She really wanted to open his friend list and take a look, but unfortunately, she didn't have the courage.

Liang Qi glanced at the phone in her hand, then looked up at her face and said, "Do you have a question?"

Jiang Nuanyu shook her head, handed the phone back, and said, "No."

Liang Qi didn't reply, paused for a moment, and then suddenly said, "I've run into you twice in Tangwan."

"Oh." Jiang Nuanyu was waiting for him to say more, but she forgot that the man sitting next to her was the most adept at not saying things directly. It was already a rare thing for him to give her a hint.

But then she thought, although he didn't directly say they were dating, he didn't deny it either, right? In that case, as his romantic partner, it shouldn't be unreasonable for her to ask a question or two, right?

She placed her hand on her lap, her fingers tapping rapidly across the surface of her thigh, and said, "Twice?"

"Yes," Liang Qi replied quickly and simply.

Jiang Nuanyu: "..." She asked again, "Is it recently?"

“At the beginning of the year,” Liang Qi said, “before you came to France.”

That meant it had been a long time since they last met. Jiang Nuanyu felt a little better, but not entirely at ease.

Seeing that she was silent, Liang Qi asked, "Any more questions?"

Jiang Nuanyu: Yes.

She was unusually decisive, and Liang Qi nodded, signaling her to continue: "Okay."

Jiang Nuanyu wanted to ask him what he and Yu Miao did when they met, but she hesitated and felt that saying it directly would make her seem petty. After a long pause, she said, "Nothing."

Liang Qi was taken aback by her fickle words and realized that she was not being honest. He said, "We only met twice in the corridor and didn't exchange more than a few words."

"..." Jiang Nuanyu frowned, puzzled: "The corridor?"

"Um."

Although Jiang Nuanyu was puzzled, she had nothing more to say. Liang Qi was not one to lie, and he would never deceive her on such a matter.

Liang Qi looked at her and said, "She's just a little girl, a child. What do you think I could possibly have for her?"

His attitude was already very clear, but to Jiang Nuanyu, it sounded as if his lack of interest in Yu Miao was simply because Yu Miao was young.

She continued her sarcastic remarks: "She's not young anymore, she's a senior in college now. Even at the beginning of the year, she was at least twenty years old, and has nothing to do with being a 'kid'..."

Liang Qi deliberately said, "According to you, I should have some feelings for her? That's how it should be?"

"I don't know. It's not up to me to say," Jiang Nuanyu retorted, "What if you're interested in the girl?"

Liang Qi pursed his lips, not speaking immediately. He realized that when she really got into a verbal sparring match, she could be quite sharp-tongued.

He didn't argue with her, smiled, and raised his hand to touch the back of her head.

Jiang Nuanyu leaned forward to avoid his touch, and Liang Qi stopped moving, his hand hanging in mid-air.

For a moment, Jiang Nuanyu was even more at a loss than Liang Qi, who had been "rejected." She was just subconsciously trying to protect the hairstyle she had spent several minutes fixing; she wasn't throwing a tantrum or trying to embarrass him.

She explained in a low voice, "Um, my hair is getting messy."

Liang Qi lowered his hand, raised an eyebrow slightly, and said, "Okay."

Although Jiang Nuanyu didn't mean it, she was the one who caused the awkward situation, and unfortunately, she didn't know how to coax him.

As the atmosphere became slightly tense, Liang Qi turned his phone around and asked her, "Have you added her?"

Jiang Nuanyu then took out her phone from her bag and accepted the friend request.

Over there, Liang Qi's phone beeped softly.

"It's added," she said.

Liang Qi put his phone back in his pocket, just as the car stopped downstairs at the magazine office.

Since parking on the roadside is not allowed for a long time, and there was no time to continue the conversation, after a brief farewell, Jiang Nuanyu was about to open the door and get out of the car when Liang Qi called her back.

The driver handed Jiang Nuanyu a paper bag from the passenger seat. She took it, looked down, and saw that it contained breakfast.

Her heart suddenly felt both full and empty. She regretted spending most of the journey consumed by useless jealousy, wasting precious time that could still be spent with him in the same space.

Her nose was slightly red, and she remained motionless, clutching the paper bag.

Liang Qi raised his hand close to her cheek, and seeing that she didn't flinch, he lightly touched her skin with the back of his finger and said, "Your makeup is going to run, hmm?"

"Huh?" Jiang Nuanyu raised her eyes in a daze; she hadn't even cried yet. Seeing the faint smile on his lips, she finally understood the teasing in his words about her earlier avoidance of his touching her hair.

It was her fault this time, and it's okay if he holds a grudge. She said softly, "You can touch me."

Liang Qi chuckled silently. Having received permission, he didn't touch her face. Instead, he reached behind her and stroked her ear, pinching her earlobe between his thumb and forefinger and gently caressing it with his fingertips.

His gaze lingered on her profile, then he stopped and said, "You can call me anytime."

Her nose stung with tears, and she nodded gently: "Mmm."

Liang Qi lowered his hand, glanced out the window, and said, "Let's go inside."

Jiang Nuanyu got out of the car reluctantly. Even though she had already said goodbye, she couldn't help but turn back before closing the car door: "Then I'm leaving."

Liang Qi looked at her and said, "Okay."

Jiang Nuanyu said, "Goodbye."

Liang Qi nodded: "Goodbye."

She looked at him with a pained expression: "See you next time."

Liang Qi: "...See you next time."
