"Genshu is just a kid, how could he possibly talk to us old women?" Old Mrs. Xu's words were quite clear, making it obvious that today was not a matchmaking event, but just a chat among a few old women.
Here they were, besides the Yao family, Granny Zhou and Granny Chen, who were on good terms with the Xu family, were all sitting together in the courtyard.
The presence of so many women in the courtyard made Old Man Xu feel uneasy. Taking advantage of everyone's inattention, he quietly slipped away to the backyard, thinking it was better to be alone.
