"That's right!" Colleague Xiao Chen echoed, "Sister Lanshan, I feel so bad for you! It was you and Gu Rui who negotiated for Huake Real Estate, and now it's Vice President Yuan who's handling the deal! How is this any different from competing for sales?"
Everyone was indignant and dissatisfied. I frowned as I watched them complain, and I became more and more angry.
I asked clearly, word for word, "So what? I'm disbanding Sales Department 2, and you're all going to continue working under Yuan Yaxin?"
The whole audience fell silent.
I took a deep breath, suppressed my anger, and asked them earnestly, "Do you remember how proactive you were when you first wanted to join Sales Department 2? I told you that as long as you signed the deal, I, Lan Shan, would not treat you unfairly. What are you doing now? Did you come to sales just to mess up?"
Xiao Liu muttered disapprovingly, "How can things be the same then as now? Back then, Yuan Yaxin was just a director, and Sales Department 2 was independent of the sales department and reported directly to the chairman. Now, it's Yuan Yaxin, the vice president, who has the final say. She's targeting our department, so how could she possibly let us get our performance bonuses?"
"I'm still here!" I emphasized sharply, "I promised you something. As long as I'm here, I will protect your interests."
Everyone shut up and stared at me in silence.
"You're all still new salespeople. Without established customers to feed you orders, are you planning to just work for three months and then leave for a base salary? Are you going to let the people in Department One watch how our Department Two falls apart and make a fool of ourselves?"
My questioning made all my colleagues lower their heads.
I turned to look at Gu Rui, "Gu Rui, you're the first one to date me, so I want to ask you, what are you going to do in the future?"
Gu Rui was stunned for a moment, then stood up and said, "Sister Lan Shan, I still say the same thing. As long as I stay in VC, I will follow you."
"Don't you feel wronged about the Huake Real Estate incident?" I continued to ask.
Gu Rui shook his head. "I got the performance bonus, and I've proven my ability. Besides, you were the one negotiating this deal, and since you didn't say anything, I naturally accepted it."

Everyone looked at each other, and even though I said so, no one raised their hands to take the project on themselves.
"Xiao Liu, haven't you been complaining about having no sales? This order is for you." I took the initiative to call out his name.
Xiao Liu twitched his nose and waved his hand to refuse: "Sister Lanshan, I can't do it. I'm afraid of pigs. I can't go."
"Xiao He, what about you?" I asked again.
Little He shook his head like a rattle: "I have mysophobia, I can't stand it."
They all avoided my gaze, fearing that they would be singled out and given the task.
I had no choice but to lead by example: "I'm going to discuss this project myself. Is there anyone willing to join me?"
Still no one raised their hand.
Just when I was feeling discouraged, Gu Rui stood up.
He said cautiously, "Sister Lanshan, let me go with you! I'm a man, so it's more appropriate for me to go."
