Ever since my parents passed away, I have become accustomed to being independent and strong.
With no one to support me, I learned to swallow all the grievances I suffered.
However, Mingsi's words suddenly broke my defenses.
She said, "If your marriage is unhappy, Mom doesn't want you to live a life of grievance. Our Tang family has the ability to support you. Even if you don't marry in this life, it's okay, but you can't suffer any grievances."
A soft spot in my heart was touched, and all the frustration I had experienced during this period of time came flooding back.
I could no longer control my emotions and confessed to Mingsi in a dejected manner.
"Mom, I'm sorry. Actually, I lied to you. I'm not doing well at all. Lu Zhiyuan and I are ready to divorce."
Hearing what I said, Mingsi was startled for a moment, then asked me, "Divorce? Did you file for it or did he?"
"I was the one who suggested it. I really can't spend my whole life with someone who's full of lies." I tiredly recounted the story of Lu Zhiyuan and Yuan Yaxin.
"When I married him, I thought he married me because he loved me, but later I found out that he had someone else in his heart, and he and Yuan Yaxin met frequently, and I was kept in the dark like a fool."
"This is really too much!" Mingsi was furious. "I didn't expect Lu Zhiyuan to be such a jerk. Mom supports you divorcing him. If he doesn't agree, I'll let your dad talk to him in person!"
Seeing Mingsi so angry, I suddenly felt comforted.
I said this not because I want Mingsi or Tang Tianxiang to support me, but to let me know that there are people who care about me and don't want me to be wronged.
At this point, I felt much more at ease. I comforted Mingsi, "Mom, don't worry. I can handle this myself. I feel much better now that I've told you."
"Don't force yourself to do anything. Mom is here to support you!"
This sentence made me feel at ease. I leaned in Mingsi's arms and felt the long-lost warmth. I was greedy for the warmth of this moment.
With Mingsi by my side, I slept particularly soundly that night.
The next morning, when I woke up, breakfast was already prepared on the table.
Just as I was admiring the richness of the breakfast, Mingsi walked out of the kitchen.
"Come sit down and try it. I made all of this myself. It's just that I haven't cooked in a while, so my skills are a little rusty."
I was so surprised. I didn't expect Mingsi to cook for me personally.
As soon as I picked up the chopsticks, I heard the servant's greeting from the living room.
"Mr. Tang, you are here."
I was startled and quickly put down my chopsticks.
Tang Tianxiang is here!
Mingsi took my hand and walked towards the living room, eagerly introducing: "Tianxiang, this is our daughter, Lanshan."
Tang Tianxiang in the living room looked at me, and I looked at him.
This father whom I had never met was as serious and solemn as I had imagined. The look in his eyes when he looked at me was not as gentle and kind as Mingsi's, but rather more scrutinizing.
He exudes a majestic aura, and his emotions are never revealed on his face. He seems to be a very cunning person.
I couldn't help feeling a little awkward, not knowing how to greet him. Suddenly, Tang Tianxiang forced a smile and became more enthusiastic towards me.
"Then I'll call you Xiaoshan. I didn't expect you've grown up so quickly. Time flies. Now you're finally back with your parents."
