Chapter 321: A Show of Power

The newcomers in the conference room looked at me timidly, afraid that I would get angry.

The new employee whispered to me, "Boss Lan, it's not their fault. The sales department has always had a rule that customers are above all else. Even if we're in a meeting, as long as a customer calls, we must answer the call immediately."

I frowned. "Who made this rule? The higher-ups at the company?"

"Not really," the newcomer stammered, "it's just that they've been in sales for a long time and have developed some unspoken rules."

What is the difference between this rule and licking customers’ ass?

Being a salesperson is never inferior to others, so there is no need to coax or flatter customers like this.

Seeing that I remained silent, the newcomer asked worriedly, "Boss Lan, you won't blame them, will you?"

I am now much calmer and understand what they did, but this meeting must be held and the sales department's rules must be re-established.

I sent a notification directly in the group.

"Anyone who fails to return to the office for the meeting within half an hour will have 5% of their performance bonus deducted."

As long as interests are involved, everyone's weaknesses are grasped.

Just twenty minutes after I sent this message, everyone gathered in the conference room. There was no time to postpone it.

As I watched them, I understood their intentions even more clearly.

The sales department is mostly staffed by veterans. When I suddenly called a meeting, they complained, "We're in sales, not just office workers. This meeting wastes our time finding clients. And if we don't achieve enough sales, who's going to care about us?"

The sound was neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for everyone in the conference room to hear clearly.

I originally planned not to pursue the issue of people being late on purpose, but someone took the initiative to put themselves in danger.

I turned cold and asked the employee, "What's your name?"

The old employee didn't even stand up, leaning back in his chair, and said lazily, "My name is Chen Xi, and I'm a veteran employee of the sales department. If you have any questions about the sales department, feel free to ask me."

He really thinks highly of himself.

I sneered, "Chen Xi, right?"

I used my computer to check the information of this old employee and his past performance within the company.

I asked coldly, "Since you have been in the company for three years, why are you just an ordinary employee now?"

Chen Xi sneered indignantly, "I also hope to get promoted! But the company always has those leaders who suddenly get promoted through connections. Employees like us who work hard and never complain don't have any chance at all."

I listened to his insinuations and pulled up all his performance data. After taking a quick look, I confronted him directly, "You said the company has a lot of connections, but aren't you one of them? Otherwise, why have you managed to stay in the company despite six consecutive months of declining performance and even two months of no sales?"

After I exposed his poor performance in public, Chen Xi was furious. He slammed his hand on the table and immediately stood up and challenged me: "What qualifications do you have to accuse me? Aren't you just a relative in the company? If it weren't for you, our previous director wouldn't have been transferred. You don't even have the right to speak here!"

Chen Xi raised his chin, looking unconvinced.
