Chapter 324: Big Change

Publicly firing the former director is enough to let others know that I am not someone who can be bullied.

Everyone in the conference room nodded in agreement with what I said, and everyone looked at me with a bit of fear in their eyes.

Such a loud noise on the first day of work inevitably alarmed Tang Tianxiang.

While having dinner at Tang's house, Mingsi asked me about my first day at work with concern.

"Xiao Shan, today is my first time at Huake. How are you getting along with your colleagues? Did you encounter any problems?"

Mingsi's words and tone were as if he was caring for a little kid who had just started school.

I smiled slightly and evaded the question, "It's fine."

Tang Jun ate silently without saying a word, but Tang Tianxiang suddenly said something as if he hadn't meant to.

"I heard that you just took office today and fired the former director's people?"

I was stunned for a moment, then met Mingsi's concerned eyes. I gave a soothing smile, then turned to explain to Tang Tianxiang seriously, "I fired Chen Xi according to company regulations. I won't allow anyone in my department who just wants to eat and wait for death all day long."

Tang Tianxiang's face did not look unhappy. Instead, he looked at me with a bit of approval.

He asked with interest, "The sales department is very important to Huake, and it's indeed time to get some discipline. However, most of the sales department members are veterans who came to Beijing from the southern headquarters. They may not be afraid of a newcomer like you. How do you plan to reorganize the sales department?"

I said calmly, "Older employees are more likely to cheat and act shady. Chen Xi is a prime example. Having good results means they have a certain network of connections, so it's okay for them to slack off occasionally. But if someone has no results and is always trying to get around to shady practices, I definitely can't keep them. This is a major shake-up in the sales department."

Tang Tianxiang reminded me thoughtfully, "What the sales department wants is more useful people? Laying off these old employees means hiring new ones, but there aren't enough old employees to lead them, which is also a problem."

Tang Tianxiang hit the nail on the head, and I know this in my heart.

I assured Tang Tianxiang confidently, "Don't worry, I won't affect the company's business."

It is naturally difficult to train a complete newcomer, but if the employee has sales experience and some connections, then there will be no problem.

I already had candidates for employees in mind.

The next day, I called Gu Rui.

Gu Rui answered quickly, his voice bright: "Sister Lan!"

I smiled and said, "Are you free at noon? Let's have lunch together."

"Yes!" Gu Rui agreed readily.

I sent him the restaurant address when there was a knock on the office door.

"Enter."

A young girl who had just become a full-time employee walked in. I remember her name seemed to be Li Xue.

She looked at me with fear in her eyes, walked up to me cautiously, and handed me a document: "Mr. Lan, this is a contract that needs your review."

"Okay." I took it and seeing her timid look, I teased her with a smile: "Do I look scary?"

Li Xue shook her head, "No, no."

I knew it all, this girl was probably frightened by the fact that I fired Chen Xi yesterday.

I put down the documents in my hand and comforted her: "Don't be afraid, I won't fire anyone for no reason. As long as you work hard and don't think about how to be lazy, I will not let you leave the sales department."

Li Xue seemed to be slightly relieved and forced a smile at me. "Thank you, Mr. Lan. I will do my best."
