Chapter 391 Understanding His Preferences

My body froze, and I realized that what I blurted out had caused Mingsi to misunderstand.

I could only explain awkwardly: "It's just that last time Qiu Qiu invited him to eat hot pot, he had an allergic reaction on the way back from taking me. It was quite scary at the time, so I remembered it for a moment."

Mingsi nodded doubtfully, making me think that the matter was over.

Unexpectedly, Ming Si suddenly asked, "You came back very late that day after dinner with Qiu Qiu. Was it because Yan Meng was allergic?"

That night, Mingsi waited for me in the living room before going to bed. Now that he suddenly brings up what happened that night, I'm afraid I can't hide it.

I answered frankly, "Yes. Yan Meng had a severe allergy, and I wanted to take him to the hospital, but he insisted on going home. I gave him some medicine, drove him home in his car, and then took a taxi back."

Although he understood everything, the smile on his lips was still intriguing.

"You've already sent him home, and you still refuse to admit that you care about him?"

I was filled with helplessness: "I just treat him as an ordinary friend. I can't just stand by and watch him die, right?"

Mingsi smiled and leaned over to my ear and said, "Sometimes, when a woman suddenly softens her heart towards a man, it just means the beginning of some feelings."

I had no way to defend myself. The more I explained, the more Mingsi would think that I was deliberately distancing myself from something.

I looked at Mingsi helplessly and said to her coquettishly, "Mom, please stop joking with me."

Mingsi couldn't do anything to me after all. When he heard me acting coquettishly, he stopped mentioning the matter and teasing me.

In the evening, Yan Meng came to Tang's house. As soon as he entered the door, Mingsi greeted him warmly.

"Aunt Ming." Yan Meng greeted with a smile and handed her the gift in her hand.

Mingsi took the gift and handed it to the servant, not forgetting to scold Yan Meng: "We are all family, you are here, why do you bring anything? Isn't this being too formal?"

Yan Meng smiled and flattered: "How can I come to visit Aunt Ming empty-handed? These are all some beauty and skin care supplements. I hope Aunt Ming will become younger and younger."

"You are the only one who speaks sweetly." Mingsi smiled and pulled Yan Meng to sit down. All the dishes had been prepared and placed on the table.

Mingsi sat in the main seat, and Yan Meng and I sat on her two sides.

Yan Meng glanced around the villa suspiciously and asked softly, "Where's Uncle Tang? I heard he went back to the capital."

"He and Junjun are out discussing business, and it's uncertain whether they'll be back! Let's eat our own food and don't wait for them."

Ming Si said as he put some food into Yan Meng's bowl, "When I told the kitchen to prepare the dishes today, Xiao Shan specifically told them not to put any chili peppers in them, saying you're allergic to chili peppers. There's no chili peppers in these dishes tonight, so you can eat them without worry."

Hearing Mingsi say this, Yan Meng raised his eyes and looked at me. His gaze was burning and there was an ambiguous smile on the corner of his mouth, which made me avoid his gaze guiltily.

I cleared my throat and explained, "I'm just worried that you might have an allergic reaction to the food at the Tang family's. My mom would definitely feel bad then."

Mingsi was amused by my mumbling and followed up on my words, "Our Xiaoshan is still very thoughtful."

"Yeah." Yan Meng responded in agreement, but looked at me deeply again.

After eating for a while, Mingsi picked up the cup and thanked Yan Meng in a very formal way: "I haven't thanked you formally yet. Thanks to you, we were able to reunite mother and daughter. Auntie will offer a glass of tea instead of wine. Thank you for helping me find my daughter."
