In Tang Tianxiang's opinion, my argument for Yan Meng last night was a disobedience to him.
I actually don’t understand why he insists on being prejudiced against Yan Meng.
I had no intention of listening to his lecture at this moment. I responded obediently on the surface, but my eyes were fixed on the cup in Tang Tianxiang's hand.
I pretended to be concerned and urged, "Dad, drink it while it's hot. This soup won't taste good if it gets cold."
At my urging, Tang Tianxiang drank the bowl of soup swiftly.
I went over diligently to clean up the dishes, but was stopped by Tang Tianxiang.
"Just leave these trivial matters to your assistant."
"It's okay, I just did it by the way." I knew Tang Tianxiang was just being polite to me. If he really wanted his assistant to collect it, he would have called someone long ago.
I picked up the bowl and reached out to grab the chopsticks, but my elbow hit the water glass on the table.
“Bang!”
With a crisp sound, the surrounding cups were smashed to pieces.
I immediately panicked and my expression changed. I apologized to Tang Tianxiang repeatedly: "Dad, I'm sorry, I didn't notice this cup..."
Tang Tianxiang just glanced at the ground and said nonchalantly, "It's just a cup. If it's broken, it's broken. There's no need to make a fuss."
"No way! I was too careless. I'll clean it up right now, and then buy you an identical one this afternoon as compensation."
Tang Tianxiang frowned slightly and rejected me: "No need..."
Before he finished speaking, I had already squatted down to pick up the debris on the ground, cleaned the floor, and then stood up and left.
And this series of my actions barely satisfied Tang Tianxiang.
I had just left the office and when I turned around, I was startled by the person behind me.
Tang Jun stood there with a cold face, not saying a word, like a ghost.
I gathered myself, frowned unhappily, and asked, "What are you doing standing here? Silently, pretending to be a ghost and scaring people?"
Tang Jun looked me up and down, and finally landed on the lunch box in my hand.
She laughed sarcastically, "It seems I really thought you were too naive. We just had an argument yesterday, and you came over here to show your affection today. Are you afraid of being kicked out of the Tang family?"
Tang Jun took two steps towards me with a mocking smile on his face.
She murmured softly, "But no matter how much you try to please me, Daddy won't like you."
My eyes narrowed slightly. Tang Jun's firm confidence made me feel that there was something wrong.
But I didn't ask any further questions, because I knew that even if I did, I wouldn't get anything out of them.
I looked up at her coldly: "You think too much. I don't care whether I can stay in the Tang family or not. I just don't want Mom to be embarrassed between us."
"That sounds very high-sounding." Tang Jun rolled his eyes in disdain. "I don't believe that you would not be tempted by the assets of the Ming and Tang families."
"It's up to you whether you believe it or not. I don't intend for you to believe me."
Too lazy to argue with her, I walked around her, but she suddenly took a step back and blocked my way again.
This entanglement makes me impatient.
"What else do you want?"
Facing my questioning, Tang Jun's eyes were tinged with resentment: "Lan Shan, after the argument last night, I'm sure you know that Dad doesn't like Yan Meng, so you'd better stay away from Yan Meng and don't make Dad angry."
I sneered: "You sound really obedient when you say that. No wonder Dad likes you. But since you don't even have the courage to like someone, then you don't have to worry about me and Yan Meng's affairs."
