Mingyuan and I looked at each other and knew what was going on.
Mingyuan asked knowingly, "It seems like you and your daughter have reconciled?"
Mingsi and Tang Jun raised their heads at the same time. Mingsi smiled gently, "I shouldn't have doubted Junjun, let alone hit her. I've already apologized to Junjun."
Tang Jun quickly said, "Don't blame Mom, it's my fault for not explaining these things clearly in the first place."
Mingsi naturally knew that Tang Jun's response to her was hypocritical, but Tang Jun didn't know that Mingsi had seen through her and was just pretending to be nice to her.
Mingyuan played along with them, saying, "It's good that you two, mother and daughter, can reconcile. The misunderstanding between mother and daughter will be over once it's explained."
"Yeah." Ming Si smiled and looked at Tang Jun. "Junjun's phone was broken. I'm picking out a new one for her."
After saying that, Mingsi glared at me warningly and said, "Don't do this again in the future. I think I've spoiled you these past two days."
Mingsi's lecture was entirely for Tang Jun to see. I didn't care and cooperated, pretending to admit my mistake and lowering my head. I whispered, "I'll go back to my room first."
Just as I was going up the stairs, I deliberately glanced at Tang Jun. She was also looking at me and glared at me fiercely.
I felt a little relieved. Fortunately, she probably didn't doubt Mingsi. That was enough.
When I returned to the room, the first thing I did was call Yan Meng, but I didn't ask him for help directly.
"Are you free tomorrow? Can we meet?"
Yan Meng teased me with a smile: "Why did you suddenly feel like asking me out?"
"I heard from you that there are many fun places in Haicheng, and I just want to go shopping in Haicheng." I made up an excuse.
Yan Meng agreed directly and readily: "There are many fun places there. Let's have breakfast together tomorrow morning and I will show you the breakfast in Haicheng."
"Okay!" I agreed happily and hung up the phone.
The next morning, I went to the restaurant where Yan Meng and I had agreed to have breakfast together.
Morning tea is a specialty in Haicheng. Many locals are accustomed to having morning tea, so many people come here for morning tea.
I took a look at the lively environment around me and couldn't help but sigh: "I didn't expect the atmosphere here to be so good and down-to-earth."
Yan Meng smiled and pushed a plate of custard buns in front of me: "Try this, their custard buns are especially delicious."
I picked up a custard bun and took a bite. It was indeed good. Just as I was about to praise it, I looked up and met Yan Meng's gaze.
This made me stunned for a moment: "You...why are you staring at me!"
Yan Meng's lips curled up into an interested smile, and he teased, "I'm waiting for you to take the initiative to tell me the purpose of asking me out."
I lowered my eyes guiltily and said perfunctorily, "What could my purpose be? Didn't I already tell you? I just want to take a stroll around Haicheng."
Obviously, my words couldn't fool Yan Meng.
He poured himself a cup of black tea and analyzed slowly, "Given your personality, even if you wanted to go for a stroll in Haicheng, you definitely wouldn't ask me to accompany you. You specifically asked me out, so you must have something to ask of me."
I wanted to find an excuse to deceive him, but he had seen through me, and when I saw his cunning eyes, I knew that I could not deceive him at all.
I sighed, put down my chopsticks, and told him seriously, "You're right, I do need you to do me a favor."
