Chapter 669 Fear

There was clearly a smile on Yan Lirong's lips, but I just felt cold.

Especially the way he looked at me, it was like a hungry wolf staring at his prey, as if he would tear me to pieces at any time.

I couldn't help feeling nervous, but with the security guards backing me up, I was sure Yan Lirong wouldn't dare do anything to me.

I ignored him and walked over to Huo Hui, helping her sit up. Seeing her disheveled hair and red and swollen eyes and cheeks, I couldn't help but feel nervous.

I asked worriedly, "Are you okay? How are you feeling? Do you want me to call an ambulance for you?"

Huo Hui's face was so swollen that she couldn't open her mouth. Just the slightest movement of her mouth corner made her shudder in pain.

Huo Hui was speechless. She held my hand and shook her head desperately at me, with a look of humble pleading in her eyes.

I thought she was asking me to save her, so I comforted her and said, "Don't worry, I've called the police, and you'll be free soon."

Huo Hui's eyes trembled, and her expression was filled with fear. She kept shaking her head, making it difficult for me to understand what she meant.

"Don't get excited. The police will definitely investigate thoroughly and give you an explanation."

Yan Lirong sneered, "Lan Shan, aren't you meddling in other people's business? This is a matter between us as husband and wife. You're deliberately causing trouble for me by doing this!"

I raised my eyes and glared at him coldly. Undeterred by his threats, I said word for word, "You know exactly what you've done. Tell the police what you've done!"

Yan Lirong just laughed sarcastically and didn't resist at all. Instead, he said confidently, "Then let the police see what kind of explanation you should give me for breaking into my room without permission."

As soon as he finished speaking, sirens sounded outside and policemen came in one after another.

After taking a look at the situation inside the house, the police's eyes fell on Yan Lirong.

"Someone called the police and reported you to be abusing your wife. We're here to check the situation!"

Yan Lirong, however, explained to the police with an innocent look on his face: "Mr. Police, this is all a misunderstanding. How could I possibly abuse my wife? She fell down the stairs and got herself into this state."

I secretly clenched my fists and really wanted to go up and punch Yan Lirong.

What a lie!

I stood up angrily: "He is a domestic abuser, and the injuries on Huo Hui's body are proof!"

Yan Lirong retorted: "You are making empty claims, and you are wrongly accusing me. The injury on his face was caused by hitting his face when he fell down the stairs. It was thanks to me that he helped him up. If you don't believe me, ask her if she did it herself."

The police and I all looked at Huo Hui. I waited for her to shake her head and deny it, and waited for her to tell me about the atrocities Yan Lirong had committed against her.

Huo Hui looked up at me timidly, then lowered her head and nodded vigorously.

I was stunned for a moment, she actually admitted it? !

Yan Lirong confidently told the police, "See, I told you I was innocent! She herself admitted that she fell down the stairs."

I frowned and questioned Huo Hui, puzzled: "Why are you covering up for him? The police are here and will give you justice."

"Lan Shan! What you said seems to be an attempt to sow discord between us!" Yan Lirong pointed the finger at me.

Finally, the police couldn't stand it anymore and interrupted, "Enough! We, the police, will decide whether this is domestic violence!"

The police picked up the handcuffs and directly handcuffed Yan Lirong's wrists, "You two, both of you, come back to the police station for investigation!"
