Chapter 725: Keep Your Word

Yan Meng turned his head and stared at me blankly for two seconds.

The originally fierce look in his eyes gradually softened.

He forced a smile at me and asked me softly, "Did it scare you?"

I was obviously panicking inside, but I still shook my head.

I held Yan Meng's arm and whispered, "Even if Yan Lirong deserves death, I hope you're okay."

I feel sorry for Yan Meng, and I don't want him to sacrifice himself for revenge.

Yan Meng's expression froze, and his smile became gentle.

He patted the back of my hand gently and comforted me, "Don't worry, I will be careful when I attack you. Yan Lirong won't die."

"I promised you, and the Ming family, that I would never let you get hurt again. I mean what I said." A complicated look flashed across his eyes. "I won't be like that coward Lu Jing, unable to protect anyone!"

For a moment, I didn’t know whether Yan Meng was more angry about Lu Jing’s death, or had other emotions.

The bodyguards had already zipped up the woven bag and sealed it. Yan Meng glanced at it coldly and ordered, "Throw it to the police station and let the police handle it!"

The bodyguard responded and left with the bag.

I stared at their backs in a daze, feeling a lingering fear.

"If you hand him over to the police like this, won't you be exposing yourself?"

Yan Lirong's body was covered with wounds. Once the facts were discovered, Yan Meng would be accused of abusing lynching and intentional injury.

Even though Yan Lirong had harmed him first, Yan Meng had no right to deal with him privately.

As long as Yan Lirong reports Yan Meng's actions to the police, Yan Meng will still have to stand trial.

I felt something was wrong: "No, we can't send him to the police station like this."

I took a step to chase after the bodyguard, but Yan Meng grabbed my arm.

Yan Meng looked at me with a surprised smile on his face, which made me think that he had become stupid due to the shock.

"What are you laughing at? Do you know that you are in danger now?" I asked angrily.

The corners of Yan Meng's mouth curled up: "I'm happy! It's rare to see you worrying about me so much, afraid that something might happen to me."

I was speechless. Even at this time, he still wanted to tease me.

"Don't worry." Yan Meng comforted me, "He wouldn't dare report me."

I was stunned, confused.

Yan Meng said firmly: "Because he has a one-year-old son outside."

I was suddenly startled and my heart rose to my throat again.

"That child, is he in your hands?"

For some reason, I felt panicked for a moment.

Perhaps it was because the look Yan Meng gave Yan Lirong just now was too terrifying, which still makes me feel scared.

Yan Meng shook his head: "The child is not with me."

"When Yan Lirong got into trouble, Huo Hui ran away with the children. But even if they ran to the ends of the earth, I would be able to find them."

I subconsciously asked: "Find them, then what?"

Yan Meng didn't look at me, his eyes grew a little colder. He snorted softly, "Yan Lirong's life is ruined. But even if he goes to jail, it's too easy for him."

"He only has one biological son, so naturally I must make him feel the same torture and pain I went through back then! I want him to suffer a fate worse than death even in prison! And Huo Hui, she can't escape either! I will exact revenge on everyone who has hurt me!"

That fierce look frightened me, and I vaguely felt that something was not right with Yan Meng.

The aura he exuded made my heart tremble.
