"Do you like him?"
"Are you boyfriend and girlfriend?"
These three sudden questions startled me. I guess in Che Xiaofeng's perspective, Yan Meng and I were often together, so he misunderstood.
I tapped his head gently. "What are you thinking about? He and I are just friends."
Che Xiaofeng refuted me seriously: "Adults always like to say this, using the identity of friends to cover up their feelings."
I tilted my head to look at this little kid. He was still young and ignorant, but he was saying things that sounded mature.
I pinched his cheek and asked, "Who taught you that?"
"Those uncles who work on ships said so." Che Xiaofeng answered very seriously.
I was amused by his cute look and didn't explain anything to him. I just told him: "When Yan Meng comes back later, you should relax like this. Don't be nervous. You can smile at him to avoid him misunderstanding that you hate him. Understand?"
Che Xiaofeng nodded, not quite understanding what he meant.
Soon, Yan Meng came back from the bathroom and as soon as he sat down, he was frightened by the smile on my face.
"What were you two secretly plotting behind my back? Why do I feel like you're smiling with such malicious intent?"
I deliberately kept it a secret: "No, if you don't believe me, ask Xiaofeng."
Yan Meng looked at Che Xiaofeng with suspicion, and Che Xiaofeng pulled the corners of his mouth stiffly, revealing a smile that was uglier than crying.
This smile made Yan Meng even more confused, but I was smiling particularly happily beside him.
I know Che Xiaofeng tried his best.
But it doesn’t matter, just take your time.
"Why are you suddenly smiling at me?" Yan Meng asked Che Xiaofeng in confusion.
Afraid that Che Xiaofeng would be embarrassed, I perfunctorily said, "Of course, thank you for treating us to dinner! Look how sincere Xiaofeng's smile is."
"It's incomprehensible." Yan Meng muttered, and said nothing more. However, he acted very gentlemanly and placed the peeled shrimps in the bowls of Che Xiaofeng and me.
Che Xiaofeng and I smiled at each other, then lowered our heads and ate our food obediently.
After dinner, Yan Meng drove Che Xiaofeng and me back to Ming's house.
As soon as I entered the living room, I saw Mingyuan sitting on the sofa with a laptop in his arms.
He frowned and stared at the computer screen with a serious face.
It was rare to see Mingyuan looking so serious. I gently pushed Xiaofeng and asked him to go upstairs first, then walked over to Mingyuan and sat down.
"What's wrong?"
I asked with concern, subconsciously looking at his computer screen.
The three huge words "Reward" were written with a photo attached below.
When I saw the woman in the photo, I was stunned for a moment.
Lu Jiaying? The woman in the photo is Lu Jiaying!
Mingyuan murmured as he explained, "This is a bounty from Interpol for our hacker alliance. It lists all wanted criminals. I don't know what this woman has done, but Interpol is hunting her down. But she had plastic surgery in Europe two months ago, so this photo is useless."
As soon as he finished speaking, Mingyuan received another message.
He narrowed his eyes. "What a coincidence! This woman is also in Beijing? Interpol even exposed the location of the communication equipment, just to allow hackers to find this woman's information. It seems like I have to take this job!"
Mingyuan's tone was a little joking. Seeing that I was standing aside without saying anything, he subconsciously turned around and looked at me.
He waved his hand in front of me and asked suspiciously, "Why are you staring at this photo? Do you know the woman in the photo?"
Because Lu Jiaying's case involved so many people, I had never mentioned to Mingyuan that she had kidnapped me.
