Chapter 24 Song Ranran's Ex-Boyfriend

Chapter 24 Song Ranran's Ex-Boyfriend

Han Xiao moved his legs, but ultimately did not take that step. He stared motionlessly in the direction where Song Ranran left.

The friend next to him couldn't stand it any longer: "If you can't let her go, go after her. What's the point of all this whining? Are you still a man?"

"I really don't know what you're thinking. You hang out at the Computer College every day just to get a glimpse of her, and every time you see her, you run away faster than anyone else. If you keep nagging, they'll get married, and you won't even have anything to cry about then."

Han Xiao clenched his finger bones, his eyes full of forbearance and restraint.

After leaving the mall, Gu Qingyue asked, "Is that Han Xiao from our school's Physical Education Institute? Do you know him?"

The School of Physical Education was not on the same campus as theirs, so they didn't see each other often. However, Han Xiao was the most handsome boy in the Department of Physical Education and the vice-chairman of the Peking University basketball club. She had heard about him from her classmates when she was taking classes in the Integrated Circuits and Integrated Systems major.

Song Ranran looked into the distance. Night began to fall and the neon lights around the mall lit up one after another. Her voice was so soft that it seemed as if it would dissipate with a breeze.

"Ex-boyfriend."

Xu Youning was so shocked that his eyes almost popped out: "When did it happen?"

Song Ranran calmed down and said, "I'll tell you in detail when we eat."

The three of them found a barbecue restaurant outside the mall, and Song Ranran asked the owner to bring in a case of beer.

She poured the beer into the glass and drank most of it. She drank so fast and violently that she choked and coughed a few times.

Gu Qingyue and Xu Youning were anxious but there was nothing they could do.

Song Ranran filled her glass again. Her eyes were red and her voice was a little choked.

"We were desk mates in junior high. He was the type with strong limbs but a simple mind. He got full marks in physical education, but his grades were at the bottom of the class. Because he was good at basketball, No. 2 Middle School offered to lower his score and get him admitted as an exception."

"But his grades were so bad that even if I lowered his scores, he still couldn't meet the requirements. In the third year of junior high school, we became deskmates. One time, I forgot to bring my textbook to class."

"My physics teacher was notoriously strict. If she caught me without my textbook, I'd be made to stand outside as punishment. I was in puberty at the time and was very concerned about my reputation. I was completely panicked."

Just when she was at a loss, a physics book was thrown directly onto her desk, which scared her and made her look at Han Xiao reflexively.

Han Xiao leaned lazily against the wall, sitting there nonchalantly, with a smile on his lips, looking like a bad student.

Seeing that Song Ranran had been staring at him, Han Xiao deliberately said, "Don't give it back to me."

Song Ranran pursed her lips tightly: "Then what are you going to do?"

Han Xiao didn't care: "I'm not like a good student like you."

That day, Han Xiao still couldn't escape being punished by the physics teacher and standing outside. Through the glass, she saw the boy standing outside.

Perhaps because of playing basketball, Han Xiao is taller than his peers. Even the loose school uniform cannot hide his superior figure. He has broad shoulders and long legs, and the muscles on his arms are clearly defined and powerful.

Her heart suddenly felt an indescribable throbbing.

Song Ranran spoke while drinking, tears welling up in her eyes and her tone was filled with tears.

"To thank him, I offered to tutor him, and we became friends. He's very smart, and his grades improved dramatically in just one year, and he barely made it into No. 2 Middle School."

"He's handsome, a good basketball player, and a popular figure in school. Many girls like him, but he always keeps his distance from them. Even though we're not in the same class, we still go home together after school. Sometimes he'll ask me math problems during break time."

"He would also bring me breakfast and buy me snacks and drinks. In my senior year, I won the national championship and was directly admitted to the Sports Department of Beijing University."

The boy was wearing a white school uniform and holding a basketball in one hand. The sunlight shone from behind him, and his eyes were shining.

He looked at her and smiled wantonly: "Song Ranran, are you going to Beijing University together?"

Song Ranran also smiled. The girl smiled brightly and agreed without hesitation: "Okay."

Thinking of this, the corners of Song Ranran's mouth curled up slightly.

Gu Qingyue and Xu Youning also felt very uncomfortable. They wanted to persuade her, but they didn't know where to start.

The sizzling sound of the meat on the grill brought Song Ranran back to her senses.

She opened another beer.

"On the day after the college entrance exam, he confessed his love to me and we got together. At first, we were just like any other couple, happy and sweet, and we couldn't wait to be together 24 hours a day."

They went shopping and watched movies together and promised to be together forever.

After the passionate love, various problems followed. They thought they could hold each other's hands and walk for a long time.

But reality dealt her a heavy blow.

Xu Youning frowned: "Why did it become like this?"

There were three or four empty wine bottles lying cluttered on the table. Perhaps because of the alcohol, Song Ranran's words were unclear.

"He likes playing basketball and games. He was so engrossed in it that he even forgot my birthday. I felt like he didn't value me and that I was being unreasonable."

"We broke up a week before school started. We had agreed to go on a trip, but he ended up watching a game too late and overslept."

The tears that had been held back still slipped from the corners of my eyes. The emotions that had been pent up for a long time seemed to have found an outlet, and the tears flowed like a river bursting its banks.

"He apologized to me, but I had planned this trip for a long time, made a lot of recommendations, and even bought tickets for the scenic spots. Now because he overslept, all my plans were disrupted."

"So I broke up with him in a rage and blocked all his contact information. At first, he still tried to contact me and even came to our campus to see me when school started."

"But at that time, I was still holding my breath and refused to reconcile with him no matter what he said."

Speaking of this, the smile on Song Ranran's lips was very bitter.

"Actually, thinking about it now, it doesn't seem like a big deal at all, but I just don't understand why I was so stubborn back then."

If they had taken a step back from each other at that time, would the outcome have been different?

When Han Xiao came to see her, she had actually softened her heart, but whenever she thought of Han Xiao ignoring her because of basketball games or games, she would become angry.

The heart that had finally softened became hard again. Although he cared very much, every word he said was full of thorns.

Gu Qingyue wiped her tears with a tissue: "Do you still like him now?"

In fact, this question is meaningless. She obviously still likes Han Xiao.

Song Ranran continued to drink beer with her head tilted back, pretending to smile carefreely, tears welling in her eyes: "It's over. Who hasn't had a failed love relationship when they were young?"
