Chapter 72 It Will Come True

Chapter 72 It Will Come True

The day after tomorrow morning, Shang Yuze flew to Country Y. Gu Qingyue was fiddling with the camera at home, discussing with Xu Youning and Song Ranran about going to the orphanage on Sunday.

At night, Gu Qingyue sat alone at the dining table to eat, and always felt that this huge manor was empty and deserted.

Although the table was full of dishes that she loved, Gu Qingyue still had no appetite at all.

After a quick meal, Gu Qingyue sat on the sofa and watched TV, trying to divert her attention. She was absent-minded, and although her eyes were fixed on the TV screen, her pupils were not focused.

Cang Yun noticed her depressed mood, licked her fingers with his tongue, and rubbed her legs with his big furry head.

Less than two minutes later, the cell phone that Gu Qingyue had casually thrown into the corner of the sofa rang. She picked it up and saw that the girl's slender fox eyes curved into a beautiful arc.

She couldn't wait to answer the phone: "Have you gotten off the plane?"

"Just to let you know I'm safe." Shang Yuze stood in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling window. The night outside the window was thick and quiet, like ink that could not be dissolved.

The man held a lit cigarette between his slender fingers. He took a light puff of the cigarette, and white smoke sprayed out from between his thin lips: "Have you had dinner?"

Gu Qingyue's mood instantly brightened when she heard his voice. She smiled and said, "Just finished eating. Did you eat?"

Shang Yuze's brows were filled with weariness, and his voice was slightly hoarse: "I ate on the plane."

It takes about ten hours to fly from China to Country Y, and there is a time difference of nearly seven hours between the two sides. It is now three o'clock in the morning in Country Y.

The two chatted briefly for a few more words. Gu Qingyue could hear his fatigue and reminded him, "You've been traveling so long and have jet lag. Remember to rest quickly."

"Yeah." Shang Yuze put out the cigarette in the ashtray.

"Then I'll hang up first." Gu Qingyue stroked Cang Yun's head.

Shang Yuze called her: "Wait a moment."

Gu Qingyue asked: "Anything else?"

"Remember to take your medicine."

The corner of Gu Qingyue's mouth twitched: "Shang Yuze, you are so far away and still remember to remind me to take medicine."

Shang Yuze's voice was filled with laughter: "Aren't you afraid that you'll forget?"

"I can't forget it. A group of people are staring at me." Gu Qingyue said, "Good night."

"good evening."

Shang Yuze put down the phone only after making sure there was no sound on the other end. He held the phone in front of his eyes, looked at the photo of the two of them in front of the carousel, and slightly raised the corners of his lips.

He also experienced the pain of missing someone because one day felt like three years.

Gu Qingyue tossed and turned on the big bed in the master bedroom, unable to fall asleep. She had been sleeping alone for twenty years, so how could she become dependent on Shang Yuze after sleeping with him for just a few days?

Shang Yuze was not around, and she actually couldn't sleep.

After tossing and turning for most of the night, he finally fell asleep in the early morning. However, he woke up before seven o'clock on the first day. Gu Qingyue simply gave up sleeping and got up to exercise.

After running on the treadmill for half an hour, Gu Qingyue returned to the bedroom, took a quick shower, and went downstairs for breakfast.

While eating breakfast, Gu Qingyue felt that everything here was so quiet that even the slightest collision sounds between the dishes and chopsticks became unusually clear.

Normally when I eat with Shang Yuze, he is not a talkative person, but why didn’t I have this feeling at that time?

In the next few days, Gu Qingyue and the other two went to the purchasing market to buy supplies for the orphanage. Gu Qingyue also bought some wool, preparing to knit a sweater for Shang Yuze when the time comes.

Sunday soon arrived, and as agreed, Gu Qingyue, Xu Youning and Song Ranran came to Renxin Orphanage.

The three of them brought a car full of daily necessities.

After getting off the bus, Xu Youning couldn't help but ask, "Is this place really habitable?"

The house was short and small, with a rusty gate, cracked and peeling walls, and workers working on the open space next to it. If they hadn't seen the banner that read "Welcome to the Three Sisters", they would have suspected that they had come to the wrong place.

Gu Qingyue had already discussed with the director in advance about their volunteer work and filming of promotional videos at the orphanage. The banner was also a token of appreciation from the director and the children.

Gu Qingyue sighed: "This place was renovated by Shang Yuze. When I first came here, it was even older and more dilapidated."

The gate has been reinforced, air conditioning has been installed in the children's living area, and a water heater has been installed in the kitchen.

Song Ranran frowned. "Doesn't the government allocate money to orphanages every year? Where does that money go?"

Gu Qingyue looked into the door, her eyes half-closed: "Distant water cannot quench immediate thirst. Money is limited after all, and it is impossible to take care of everyone."

The money allocated by the state passes through many hands, but how much of it actually reaches them?

Xu Youning said with a serious face: "When I get home, I will talk to my brother and ask him to donate more money to the orphanage, directly to this orphanage."

When they heard the sound of the car, two children ran out. When they saw Gu Qingyue, they ran over holding her hand and said happily.

"Sister, you're here."

Gu Qingyue suppressed her emotions and put on a smile. She bent down and touched their heads respectively: "I also brought two new sisters for you."

They greeted Xu Youning and Song Ranran sweetly: "Hello, sisters."

They both smiled and said, "Hello."

The dean came out with the children, smiling warmly and kindly: "Miss Gu, please come in."

Gu Qingyue nodded, and the three of them followed the director into the orphanage.

Xu Youning and Song Ranran are giving gifts to the children.

Gu Qingyue's eyes swept over the children's innocent faces and asked the dean, "Dean, do you think the children need anything? I can have it brought to them."

"That's all, that's all. These things are enough. What's more, Mr. Shang has built a new house for us. You brought so many things this time. It really costs you a lot of money. Miss Gu, thank you so much." The dean was very grateful and thanked Gu Qingyue repeatedly.

This orphanage was so dilapidated that there was little point in renovating it, so Shang Yuze bought the vacant land next to it and hired a professional team to carry out the construction, intending to expand the orphanage and build a new home for the children.

The children knew that the workers were building a new house for them, so they often invited them to the orphanage to eat and rest.

Gu Qingyue smiled slightly: "This is what I should do. If you hadn't taken me back home, I would have frozen to death in the snow. You are a person with great love. For people like you, God will make your wishes come true."

The dean saved her life, so naturally she would give him the greatest help within her ability.

The dean's old eyes were filled with deep love as he looked at the children: "My only wish is to watch these children grow up."

Gu Qingyue replied: "It will definitely come true."
