Chapter 58 I'm Hungry
Chunzhi raised her hand and touched the tip of her nose, and whispered, "Not really."
I feel like I've been getting along pretty well with Huo Qi these days.
Especially on the night when Zhou Rong kidnapped him, Huo Qi came to save him from danger like a god from heaven.
It would be a lie to say that I have never been attracted to Huo Qi for even a moment.
And as long as a person is alive, the heart keeps beating.
If the heart stops beating, the person will die.
But Chunzhi also knew very clearly that she and Huo Qi were just chance acquaintances, destined to be a couple for a short time, and would eventually separate one day.
And that day won’t be far away.
Chunzhi knew this very well, so she never dreamed of a long-lasting relationship with Huo Qi.
As early as when she was spending the night with Huo Qi, she told herself that she should just enjoy this wonderful moment and not dream of more.
So, now Chunzhi also told Huo Qi, "You will leave one day, won't you?"
Huo Zheng had no way to refute this.
He wanted to say to Chunzhi: I can take you with me.
But in front of Chunzhi, who was not sad at all about the separation, Huo Zheng didn't even have the chance to say this to her.
Huo Zheng looked at Chunzhi with dark eyes, his heart surging with emotions that were difficult to describe.
Chunzhi smiled and asked him, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Huo Zheng didn't say anything.
Chunzhi asked him, "Are you hungry? I am hungry."
Huo Zheng said in a somewhat stiff tone: "I'm not hungry."
Today at Zuixianlou, Huo Yu held a grand banquet, wishing to put the best food in the whole Nanzhou City on the table. However, Huo Zheng had no intention of feasting. He only wanted to return to Linshui Town as soon as possible, to this small tofu workshop, and tell Chunzhi the news that the Zhou father and son had been executed.
Lu Jingyun arrived at Taohua Lane before him, and Huo Zheng was already a little unhappy.
When he heard Chunzhi say that he would leave sooner or later, his three-point unhappiness became seven-point.
During the years he had been the Prince of Chang'an, he had concealed his anger very well and seldom got angry about anything.
But Chunzhi seemed to be able to particularly touch his emotions.
"Then I'll go cook a bowl of noodles." Chunzhi said, and started to put on her shoes and socks.
Huo Zheng reached out to stop her, "I just told you not to move around casually."
Chunzhi raised her head and looked at him pitifully, "I'm hungry."
Huo Zheng felt helpless and threw down two words: "Wait."
Chunzhi said "Oh" and watched Huo Qi walk out of the house, come to the stove, and start to light a fire and boil water.
Chunzhi was worried that he didn't know how to cook noodles, so she said loudly, "Add more water and pay attention to the heat. Don't burn the noodles."
Huo Zheng didn't respond.
Chunzhi was sitting alone on the couch and felt a little bored, so she put on her shoes and socks, jumped out of the house, and sat down at the eight-immortals table.
Huo Zheng turned around and glanced at her.
Haruji smiled at him and said, "I jumped here on one foot, without using the injured one."
Huo Zheng didn't speak to her. After lighting the fire, he started to boil water.
After the water boiled, he started to cook the noodles and washed two small green vegetables and put them in to cook together.
Chunzhi calculated the time and called out to him, "Huo Qi, it's almost time to serve."
Huo Zheng served the noodles and fried two eggs for her.
It looked grand, but both eggs were burnt.
Chunzhi could already smell the aroma before it came out of the pot.
She immediately stood up and prepared to hop over on one foot to help.
Huo Zheng ordered, "Sit there and don't come over."
Chunzhi sat down helplessly.
She thought it didn't matter if the eggs were burnt, as long as the noodles were edible.
It took a long time.
Huo Zheng then brought over the bowl of cooked noodles.
It shouldn't be said that he brought over a bowl, it should be said that he brought over a bowl of noodles.
Chunzhi was shocked when she saw such a big pot.
She looked up at Huo Zheng and asked, "Are you feeding the pigs? Or are you feeding the pigs?"
It was Huo Zheng’s first time cooking noodles, and he didn’t know how much to put in, so he accidentally put too much.
His handsome face darkened slightly as he asked, "Do you want to eat?"
"Eat." Chunzhi said the word "eat" helplessly.
She could only tell herself that it was good enough to have something to eat and not to be picky.
But this is too much pot.
The two burnt eggs were horrible.
Chunzhi said to Huo Qi, "This bowl of noodles is really too much. You can eat some too."
Huo Zheng said: "I'm not hungry."
Chunzhi advised: "Even if you are not hungry, eat a little. Don't waste food."
Upon hearing this, Huo Zheng went to get two bowls.
He felt that the noodles he made were just not very good in appearance, but the taste should still be okay.
If he doesn't eat a single bite, wouldn't it seem like he thinks this bowl of noodles is not fit for human consumption?
So he took two bowls and started to serve noodles. Chunzhi picked up the chopsticks, picked up a fried egg and put it into Huo Zheng's bowl.
She said seriously, "This is the first time I've fried an egg since I came here. You should try your cooking skills."
Huo Zheng said nothing, picked up the egg but couldn't eat it.
Chunzhi took a bite of the egg, swallowed it raw, and then took a mouthful of noodles.
This taste...
It's hard to describe.
Chunzhi tried hard not to vomit.
After watching her swallow it, Huo Zheng asked her, "How does it taste?"
Chunzhi said, "Is it, is it okay?"
Huo Zheng frowned slightly and said, "It's just okay?"
Chunzhi immediately changed her tone and said, "It's quite good. You should eat it quickly too."
Huo Zheng took a bite of the burnt egg and swallowed it with great difficulty.
Why is this egg bitter?
He couldn't believe that his cooking skills were so bad, so he tasted the noodles again.
So salty that it makes me choke.
Huo Zheng couldn't help but ask Chunzhi, "You call this pretty good?"
Chunzhi poured a cup of cold tea and handed it to Huo Qi. "This is your first time cooking noodles, so it's not bad."
It's just that the eggs were burnt and too much salt was added.
Chunzhi continued to eat noodles with her cold tea, as if she would not waste anything.
Huo Zheng snatched the chopsticks from her hand and said, "Don't eat."
Chunzhi held the bowl with both hands, "But I'm hungry."
Huo Zheng said, "I'll go out and buy it for you."
Chunzhi watched Huo Zheng pour both bowls of noodles back into the basin, took the basin out to pour them out, and then went out to buy food.
Chunzhi shouted at his back, "Come back soon, Huo Qi."
Huo Zheng walked out without looking back.
Chunzhi hopped back into the house on one foot and found a bag of dried meat to eat.
After Huo Zheng left, he blew a bamboo whistle from a hidden place at the end of the alley to call Jiang He and told him to buy food.
Jiang He never thought that one day he would have to run errands for a little tofu beauty, and the way he looked at his own prince became very subtle.
Huo Zheng glanced at him and said, "Go quickly and come back quickly."
"Yes!" Jiang He immediately responded and left.
"Wait." Huo Zheng called him and after a moment's silence, he added, "Go find a donkey."
"What? A donkey?" Jiang He thought his ears were broken when he first heard it. "Your Highness, what do you want a donkey for?"
Huo Zheng said unhappily, "Why are you asking so many questions?"
It’s because Chunzhi injured her foot. She is obsessed with making money, so she is willing to make tofu and sell it despite her injury.
He couldn't stop her, so he could only ask someone to find a donkey to help Chunzhi grind the beans.
"I'm sorry for being too talkative, Your Highness." Jiang He slapped himself on the face and said, "I'll do it right away."
Just as Jiang He left, another figure appeared at the end of the alley. Huo Zheng turned around and looked...
