Chapter 18: A Vicious and Treacherous Woman

Chapter 85: A Vicious and Treacherous Woman

Jing Cang was born in the palace and all he saw were gentle and virtuous ladies from noble families. He had never met such a vicious, hypocritical, cruel and treacherous woman. Comparing her with the Three-Change Hibiscus is an insult to that flower!

He felt his blood rushing backwards and his heart pounding in his chest. If he could stand up and walk, he would definitely grab her, tie her up, and whip her severely!

Looking at the broken legs, he stared at her slender white legs.

Yu Fei felt cold all over when he looked at her, and she took two steps back timidly. His eyes were as cold and sharp as a knife, as if he wanted to cut off her legs.

Thinking that everyone outside was his, she pulled up her clothes to cover her lower body tightly, not even exposing her toes, and whispered, "Since we are together in life and death, if I get seriously hurt, you will feel it too."

"You're going to break my legs. If I die, you'll be implicated too..."

Jing Cang thought so too. Her arms and legs were as thin as chopsticks, and her waist was so thin that it seemed that it could be broken if it was bent. She was definitely not comparable to him who had practiced martial arts since childhood.

He summoned Huo Dao to change his clothes and ordered him to find a doctor.

When Huo Dao entered the room, he saw the floor was in a mess. He hurriedly asked the maid to clean it up. After helping Jing Cang wash and dress, he saw Yu Fei sitting on a small couch beside him.

She had her back to him, with her long hair loose and wearing a white men's robe, revealing a section of her calves that was whiter than the clothes. She was barefoot on the ground, and it was autumn now, so her feet were frozen and turned red.

He originally wanted to ask the maid to bring her clothes and shoes directly, but he saw that the prince treated her as air, and when he occasionally glanced at her, his eyes seemed to want to kill her with a sword.

Last night, they were in love and had been making a fuss for most of the night, but today they acted like enemies. Huo Dao thought that the prince's temper was not that bad, and he wondered what Miss Yu had done to make him angry.

After all, she would belong to the Eastern Palace in the future. He said, "Your Highness, the doctor will come over later. Miss Yu..." At least give her some decent clothes.

Jing Cang slowly swallowed a mouthful of shrimp dumpling, drank a spoonful of mutton bone soup, and said nonchalantly: "Don't worry about her." He was too stingy to even give her a glance.

Huo Dao was speechless. Who is this person?

The prince said he didn't care, but he couldn't really ignore it. Yu Fei looked like a naked man, so he had to avoid suspicion as a foreigner, and the doctor was coming over.

He quietly asked the maid to bring her some underwear, shoes and socks. Fortunately, the prince did not say anything.

After Jing Cang finished his breakfast, Huo Dao led a blindfolded old man over. He first examined Jing Cang's pulse and then examined Yu Fei. The old man pondered for a moment and said, "The young master and the young lady are both born from the same dragon. This dragon connects the lives of men and women and makes them fall in love with each other."

Jing Cang frowned, and Huo Dao asked hurriedly: "Is there any way to defeat this pig?"

The old man shook his head. "According to medical records, this is a rare insect that was found in Yunnan a hundred years ago. It's hard to say whether there is a cure for it. I've been practicing medicine for decades and have never seen anyone get bitten by it. Please forgive me for not being able to help."

Huo Dao called in a few more dragon doctors, whose diagnosis and speech skills were similar to those of the first old man.

Outside the window, the autumn wind blew, dark clouds covered the sky, and Jing Cang's face was even gloomier than the sky outside. Huo Dao seemed to know the ins and outs of their confrontation and advised Yu Fei.

"Miss Yu, you know that what you did is a crime punishable by premature execution, confiscation of property and extermination of the clan. Now, while His Highness has not yet returned to the capital, if you tell us a way to free the snake, His Highness may show leniency and spare the lives of your entire Yu family."

As expected, like master, like follower. Jing just kept repeating the same old stuff to her.

Yu Fei raised his eyebrows and looked at Huo Dao, but his words seemed to be addressed to Jing Cang: "You only spare the Yu family, but not me?"

Huo Dao looked hesitant as he stared at Jing Cang, as if expecting him to say something nice to coax her.

But this high and mighty master only uttered a cold "hum" with a nasal sound.

Huo Dao tried to make amends: "Miss Yu, if you can find a way to save His Highness, I will plead with His Highness to spare your life."

Yu Fei glanced at Jing Cang, his cold expression did not relax at all.

She held up her hands and said with regret: "Thank you for your kindness, but I have no other options and I don't know what other options there are."

Jing Cang's eyes turned towards her, his gaze was like a sharp dagger, wanting to cut off layer of her flesh.

Under his murderous gaze, Yu Fei continued, "I bought this pig from a Taoist priest on the street. I didn't know whether it was real or not at the time, so I tried it as a last resort. Who knew it turned out to be real."

Regardless of the past or present, there are always traveling doctors and Taoist priests in the world, selling this kind of snake or that kind of pill. Not only is it difficult to tell whether the goods are genuine, but even the people move from place to place after they have done something. So, they are not easy to find.

Huo Dao asked, "Where does the Taoist priest set up his stall and what does he look like?"

Yu Fei shook his head and said half-truthfully, "I forgot. There are a lot of them in the East Market. They sell love potions, immortality pills, and everything else."

Huo Dao held his forehead with his hand and asked Jing Cang reluctantly, "Your Highness, do you want me to go..."

"That's enough." Jing Cang interrupted him, looked at Yu Fei's serious expression, and said sarcastically, "Don't listen to her singing. It's not annoying to you, but it's annoying to me."

Huo Dao was embarrassed. Seeing Yu Fei's smooth and fluent answers, he didn't expect that it was all nonsense. He sighed in his heart at the prince's sharp eyes.

When Yu Fei heard Jing Cang's words, he lowered his head, a trace of embarrassment flashing across his eyes.

He guessed that she was talking nonsense.

Once bitten, one is afraid of the rope for ten years. It seems that he was so shocked by her amazing acting skills that he no longer trusts her.

Huo Dao seemed to remember something, and he grasped the sword at his waist and questioned Yu Fei: "Miss Yu, why did you send two guards to Yunnan last month?"
