Chapter 106

Chapter 106

Wang Jiazhi secretly took the kitten home. The little fellow was very obedient, meowing softly, so that no one outside could hear it because the door was closed. He also didn't scratch or bite, just like Xiaolan.

She fed it some hot water. It seemed very hungry, but there was no way to wake anyone up in the middle of the night to find food for it.

Wang Jiazhi actually had an unrealistic idea: if there was a noise in the study, she could ask him to ask someone to find milk to feed the cat. Thinking of this, she felt like she was crazy.

Wang Jiazhi remembered that there was still half a pack of biscuits in the snacks, so she soaked the biscuits in water and gave them to the dog, but the dog didn't eat anything.

She stroked its fur and said, "Hold on a little longer. It will be ready to drink milk in a few hours."

This little fellow was white and fluffy, just like Xiaolan. She missed Xiaolan again.

Xiaolan was so well behaved, not at all like him now. Today, for some reason, he lost his temper again.

The next day, she asked for a cup of hot milk and fed it spoonful by spoonful. Like Xiaolan, she made a nest for it out of a cardboard box. What would she do when someone came to clean? She wouldn't tell Mrs. Yi.

She looked around the room, trying to figure out where she could hide the box.

She had nothing to do that morning, so she played with the cat in the house. In the afternoon, she played mahjong. After a while, she took the opportunity to walk away for a while and went back to the house to see the kitten.

Every time she came back, it would raise its head and meow at her happily, rub against her and call out to her, and after eating, it would nestle on her and fall asleep.

Wang Jiazhi thought that she had met the wrong people in this life, but the furry animals she picked up were so friendly and cute.

She stroked the kitten on her lap and thought, if only she had a place of her own, she could raise it. If she couldn't even give a kitten a sense of security, how could she possibly raise a child?

After a few days, the kitten was much better, but she couldn't keep it indoors forever. Wang Jiazhi was reluctant to let it go, but she couldn't keep it any longer.

Driver Guo, usually a serious man, spoke a lot for the first time, swearing that he would find a good home for the cat and would not abandon or kill it. He probably saw that Wang Jiazhi was worried about him and felt that he was cruel and ruthless if he followed Lao Yi, the executioner. He treated human life as worthless, let alone a cat!

After sending the kitten away, Wang Jiazhi sat beside her bed, feeling empty inside, and thought of the dead kitten again. Knowing she couldn't keep it, she didn't give it a name, and still called it Xiaolan.
