Chapter 202
Because something happened at the printing house, he was busy there all night without sleep. He returned home a little after eight o'clock, and had just dozed off for less than half an hour when he was woken up by Lao You and Xiao Ruan in the room.
These two people have been living together for a long time and have been holding grudges against each other. Of course, the old man has that kind of personality and it's hard for him to get along with anyone.
And since he got a scholarship to study abroad, but Lao You didn't, after he came back, this feeling aggravated Lao You's emotional fluctuations.
Xiao Ruan and Lao You were arguing about something, and by the end, neither of them had a clue what they were arguing about. The real reason was that Lao You had been reading a novel yesterday and started crying again. Xiao Ruan couldn't stand it anymore, so she said a few words, and then the argument got really heated.
He could only struggle up and stare at the dark circles to stop the fight.
Wang Jiazhi had originally left some food for him, but she knew that he couldn't eat anything when he was too tired and sleepy, so he would only eat after waking up.
Everyone in the house came to try to stop the fight, but this time the two people were determined to separate.
He said, "Since that's the case, if you insist on parting ways, then just separate for a while. We're all angry. Who of you will live in my house?"
Lao Youdao: "Do you want to lock me up tightly?"
He laughed and said, "If you put it that way, I'd lock myself up every day."
He was always bad-tempered and no one wanted to live with him. Although he lived alone, it was not because he was a team leader, but because the house was really uninhabitable.
The room was so small it could only fit a bed, not even a small table. There were no windows, so the three of them would rather live on their own than in his tiny, dark room. Xiao Xu had moved out because he couldn't stand Lao You anymore.
The first time Wang Jiazhi went in was during the day, and when the door was closed, it was pitch dark.
She was surprised and asked, "Aren't you afraid?"
"What?"
“It’s pitch black without the lights on.”
"I'm not afraid of the dark."
She was shocked.
Xiao Ruan said, "I'll go."
Wang Jiazhi exclaimed, "Ah!"
He lives with Lao You, what a joke!
Things were settled, and he didn't bother to think about the trouble with his roommate. He was so sleepy that he said, "Then I'll take a nap first and move after I wake up."
She knew he didn't like using other people's blankets, so she went to the dark room and brought his own. Lao You left in a huff, and Xiao Ruan sat down at the large table in the living room to write. After changing his blankets, he fell asleep.
He slept until the afternoon. She had made wontons for him, so breakfast turned into brunch.
She cooked two bowls of food and brought them to his new house on a tray: one with shepherd's purse and one with spinach.
She sighed and said, "Why do I have to live with Lao You?"
"Don't worry, I can handle him."
"Then what if he screams and howls in the middle of the night?"
"He has to sleep too."
"You're going out when he's asleep."
She clasped her hands together and propped them up on the table. "You like mustard greens the best, so I went out to dig up shepherd's purse this morning. But you also like spinach, so I made two flavors. Are they delicious?"
He was surprised and asked, "When did I tell you?"
"Have you forgotten it yourself?"
"I really don't seem to remember."
She smiled and said, "I guess."
He laughed and said, "But the spinach ones seem to taste better."
She remembered that she had made both flavors back then, and he had said the spinach one was better. Perhaps it was her first time cooking for him, and she didn't know he liked shepherd's purse, so she made the spinach filling.
Xiao Xu came in and said, "It smells so good. Give me a bowl. You can't finish it anyway."
He looked at him and gave him a meaningful smile.
"I'm leaving first." Xiao Xu said and went out silently and closed the door.
After dinner they started moving things. He had a pot of jasmine and a pot of orchids. Lao You came back and said the smell of the jasmine was too strong and it made him breathless.
Wang Jiazhi smiled and said, "Then take it to my room. My little room is just right for it."
The next day she went in and saw a curtain drawn in the middle.
She said, "Why are two grown men pulling the curtain? You're having a fight."
He was lying on the bed reading a book and said, "Not really, but if he wants to do this, I agree."
She thought it was a good idea; out of sight, out of mind.
She sat next to him and habitually leaned her head on his shoulder, but just as she touched it, she remembered it and quickly straightened her body.
Oh my God, she couldn't believe her eyes. Why were his ears red?
How could this person be so disconnected when he was young and when he was old?
He stared at her the first time they met, and started touching her after just a few words. He was just as good at dealing with those ladies.
Why did he become what he was later.
He was eating from one bowl, and she had another beside her. She placed her palms against the sides of the bowl, feeling the heat emanating from it. The steam rising from the hot soup blew over her face, creating a thin layer of moisture. She leaned back in her chair, her face no longer in the steam, and felt a little damp and cold again.
Seeing that he had finished one bowl, she pushed the other bowl towards him by pressing the wall of the bowl with both hands. When he went to take it, their hands touched each other, and it was like an electric shock. The electricity started from their hands and spread to their whole bodies, and the current quickly passed through them.
Wang Jiazhi couldn't believe it. It was just a touch of hand. They had done everything before, so how could it turn out like this?
Under the magic of the electric current, her face turned red. The past scene came to her eyes again.
Turning to look at him, the him in my memory and the him in front of me overlapped again.
She quickly turned her head away, trying to appear innocent. Why did she think of that incident now? But the scene turned back with her and kept passing before her eyes.
She turned her head to look at him again. She couldn't blame herself. It was him who made her like this.
In the past, if there was such an electric shock, the two of them would have been unable to contain themselves and would have started to get into a passionate fight.
This was the result of their going through so much trouble before they had any deep feelings for each other.
Oh my god, she wanted to sleep with him now...
He turned his head to look at her and saw that her face was as red as a peeled lychee.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's just too hot."
She hurried out to her own little room to calm herself down.
The worst part was that the room was now filled with the scent of jasmine flowers. She only then remembered that she had accepted the flowers from his room that morning. The atmosphere in the room was so familiar and attractive that it made her heart beat wildly.
It was like this in the past. I didn’t feel it was hard even when there was no one around. But now that there are people around, I can’t do anything.
