Chapter 309

Chapter 309

Although it was a rainy day, the moon was still round and shining through the clouds. The tram slowly moved towards the moon, which was getting bigger and bigger, as if it was about to rush towards the eyes.

Wang Jiazhi stuck her head out the window, feeling the raindrops hitting her face and head. The cool, refreshing water, she licked up with her tongue, had a sweet, metallic taste. This was the first time she'd felt this happy since the school moved to Hong Kong. It felt so good on stage today. It was my first time playing the lead role, and I'd already achieved such a feat. It felt so dreamy and ethereal. Even now, with my makeup off, I still feel light and airy, like I'm dreaming.

Kuang Yumin came over and sat in the seat behind her. She felt him coming and her heart was beating fast, but she pretended not to feel anything and waited to see what he would say.

"Thanks."

"Why."

He smiled slightly, and she smiled slightly too. No one said anything else. Silence was better than words at this moment. She knew that he would always tell her in the future.

That night, they didn't return to school until late. The bathroom had already been closed, and she and Lai Xiujin were caught in the rain. Their hair and bodies were sticky and damp, but even that greasy, wet feeling was intoxicating and joyful. They slept until noon the next day, and when they woke up, they had a patch of eczema. She smiled and asked Lai Xiujin, "Shall we take a shower?"

Lai Xiujing still had the mosquito net hanging up, lying inside lazily, unable to speak, and wanting to sleep for a while longer.

She wondered in her heart, would Kuang Yumin confess his love to her? This kind of thing always has to be gradual, probably always... She had never been in love, and she didn't know how to confess. It was the kind of contact where nothing was said at first, but there was tentative contact, and after a month, or two months, two months wasn't too fast, then there would be a confession. After the confession, she shyly said that she was the same, and they would kiss, hold hands and hug. Then they could openly tell others that they were dating, go to class together, go out on dates together, announce to their classmates that they were in love, and then be teased by their classmates, and she would shyly lower her head and blush. Then he became an acquaintance downstairs in the dormitory, and the dormitory aunt or the girls would joke, "Wang Jiazhi, your boyfriend is waiting for you downstairs."

She was extremely excited at the thought of this.

After taking a shower, Lai Xiujing was still sleeping. She could only move quietly in the dormitory so as not to disturb her. It was boring to stay like this, so she picked up her notebook and went to the library.

Wang Jiazhi arrived at the library, found a spot to put down her book, and went to look for something to read. It was Sunday, so not many people were around, making the place feel even emptier. A pot of white orchids sat beside her, two now in bloom. The delicate fragrance wafted through the air, intoxicating.

She stood up and went to look for a book she wanted to read. She reached out to take a copy of "Chu Ci" from the shelf of Chinese classics. As soon as her hand touched the book, another hand reached out. When the two hands touched each other, they quickly separated as if they had been electrocuted.

She turned around and saw a boy wearing a white shirt, with peach blossom eyes and thin lips. It was really...

Both of them were stunned.

He was the first to come to his senses and said, "Sorry for stealing your book."

She hurriedly said, "No, I just wanted to flip through it. Take it and have a look."

When he smiled, stars twinkled in his eyes.

She was at a loss, her heart pounding. How could this happen?

"I have a copy of it, and I just wanted to see if the annotations on this one are any different. Come and take a look."

He pulled out the book and placed it in her hand. They were both a little flustered, their hands touching in a flurry, and electric currents began to run through their bodies. He quickly pulled his hand away, smiled, and turned away. She didn't know if it was real, or if it was just her imagination, but she felt like he was deliberately staring at her.

She was holding the book in her arms, and as he walked a few steps away, it fell out of her arms and onto the ground. She hurriedly picked it up and stared at his back. She saw him walk to the front, holding two books in his hands, finished registering and left. When he should have gone downstairs, she walked to the front with the "Chu Ci" and looked for the library card in the box.

Each book has a library card, on which the borrower fills in his name and class, and then puts it in a box on the table. After the book is returned, the administrator puts the library card back.

She remembered looking down and seeing a book in his hand called Guantang Jilin. The female administrator, wearing black-framed glasses with thick lenses, said angrily, "What are you looking for?"

She laughed and said, "I see it's made such a mess that it's about to overflow the box."

The female administrator smiled and said, "You are really careful. Why bother you to clean up?"

Wang Jiazhi smiled, but her hands were not idle at all. She found the library card of the book, on which was written in cursive script: History Department, Class 4, borrowed by Yi Lan.

The female administrator was reading a book with her head down. She quietly slipped the card into the book while writing the library card.

That night, Lai Xiujin had already finished her bath and sat half-sitting on the bed with a stern face, deep in thought. Wang Jiazhi sat at the table, writing something. After a while, she took out her library card. The moonlight, the lamplight, and the shadows of flowers reflected on the name on the small card. She thought to herself, "This handwriting is so beautiful."
