Chapter 9

Chapter 9

It suddenly started raining when school was over. Wang Jiazhi didn't bring an umbrella, so she stood under the corridor with many people waiting for the rain to stop.

"Wang Jiazhi!"

She looked up and saw Zhou Minlin approaching with an umbrella. Zhou Minlin smiled and said, "Are you going back to the dormitory? I'll take you back."

"Okay, that's really troublesome."

"Not at all."

They walked with an umbrella, and Zhou Minlin tilted the umbrella towards her. One of his shoulders got wet, which made her feel very sorry.

Zhou Minlin said: "Kuang Yumin said our drama is very good and he wants to work with me."

"Don't go!"

Zhou Minlin was startled and asked with a smile, "What's wrong?"

She said very seriously: "Listen to me and stay away from them."

"Okay." Zhou Minlin smiled and nodded solemnly.

It's not that she's heartless, but she's completely clear on those people. They're not serving their country or their people. She should have known it from the way Huang Lei excitedly called out to her on the street. How could someone without any humanity truly love the world?

It was still the same scene in Kuang Yumin's drama, and every time he talked about revenge for his brother, his eyes would be filled with tears.

In fact, she knew at that time that the righteousness in his eyes was a pretext for asking everyone to avenge him.

At the time, she didn't think there was anything wrong. After all, personal vengeance and righteousness were inseparable, and there was nothing wrong with avenging her brother.

But she didn't expect that when he wanted revenge, the one who would be sacrificed was someone else.

Lai Xiujin liked him, and Huang Lei and the others were just brothers, or maybe they had other motives. Anyway, no one expected him to actually die. Then, with Lao Cao's incident, he was controlled by the other side, and there was no way back.

He knew clearly that she liked him, but he still cruelly let someone else, Liang Runsheng, ruin her. She had known that Ouyang liked her for a long time. Ouyang knew that she liked Kuang Yumin, and he had no chance. He was not related to him, and he had no right to control who she was with. It was not worth it to cause public outrage for her. He still had Lai Xiujin as a backup anyway. Huang Lei was on Kuang Yumin's side. He would do whatever Kuang Yumin did, and he would not care who ruined her. As for Liang Runsheng, how could he object. It seemed that he was silent and heartless, and in the end he was the only one who got the advantage. If he was really simple-minded, as long as he was not willing to take advantage of others, who could force him? It was not that he wanted to get this big advantage for free.

Or maybe, those people all wanted her, but knew they couldn't get her, so they just destroyed her and let Liang Runsheng, the most despicable one, ruin her.

Wang Jiazhi's heart was in turmoil at the moment. She tried hard not to think about the past, as she felt extremely sad when she did.

Before they knew it, they were already at the dormitory building. Zhou Minlin said, "We're here."

Only then did she come back to her senses and saw that one of Zhou Minlin's shoulders was wet and she smiled.

She said seriously, "Don't get close to Kuang Yumin."

Zhou Minlin said seriously: "Don't worry, I don't think I can get along with him."

She smiled and nodded.

Xiaoshuang took a leave in the afternoon to go see a dentist, and was soaked when she came back.

Putting the umbrella by the door, he sighed, "I brought an umbrella on purpose. I should buy a raincoat."

"Go take a shower."

Xiaoshuang took the towel, soap and some clean clothes and went out. When she came back, she noticed half a steamed bun on the table.

"Is this what you're eating tonight?"

Only then did Wang Jiazhi realize that she had forgotten to put away the leftover steamed buns.

Xiaoshuang had noticed that she might not eat much.

She laughed and said, "I couldn't eat it at night anyway, it's leftover from lunch."

"That's not good. You seem to have lost a lot of weight."

"No, I usually eat very little."

She only ate one or two steamed buns and drank a little water every day.

"Does your father still send you money? If so, I still have..."

Xiaoshuang didn't want to directly tell her that she wanted to help her, for fear of hurting her self-esteem.

She smiled and said, "Really, no need. I still have money. I really can't eat it."

Xiao Shuang didn't know what to say.
