Song Zhe and Chen Xiaoru also returned to their room.
Song Zhe took Chen Xiaoru's soft little hand and asked her to sit down at the desk. His eyes seemed to want to eat her up.
Chen Xiaoru felt uneasy when he looked at her. Her face turned red as if it was about to bleed and her voice trembled:
"Husband, you...why don't you read?"
"Xiao Ru," Song Zhe's voice was low and gentle, "I want to teach you how to read first."
When Chen Xiaoru heard that Song Zhe wanted to teach her how to read, her heart skipped a beat and started beating like a little rabbit in her chest.
She stared at Song Zhe with her eyes wide open, her mind buzzing:
"Oh my god, I just said that yesterday, and he actually took it seriously?... This feeling of being taken seriously...why is it so strange?"
She pinched herself hard to suppress the feeling of surprise and joy. She raised her head, her eyes were wandering, and her voice was soft like:
"Husband, you... you really want to teach me how to read?"
As she spoke, she twisted the corners of her clothes with both hands, her heart in her throat, afraid that Song Zhe would say he would not teach her anymore.
"Um."
Song Zhe nodded. He took a book from the bookshelf beside the bed and turned to the first page. "Let's start with the simplest one."
Song Zhe gently turned the page and pointed to the first word. His voice was gentle and patient: "Xiao Ru, this word is pronounced 'tian'."
Chen Xiaoru leaned forward slightly, her eyes fixed on the spot where Song Zhe's fingertip was pointing. She softly repeated, "Heaven."
Song Zhe nodded with satisfaction and continued, "Very good. The next one is 'Earth'."
Chen Xiaoru blinked, a smile unconsciously curling up at the corner of her mouth. These characters were very similar to the traditional Chinese characters she was familiar with, which made her feel unexpectedly relaxed.
"Earth." She read it out loud clearly.
Song Zhe raised his eyebrows in surprise and praised: "Xiao Ru is really smart, she can learn it quickly."
The two smiled at each other and continued to immerse themselves in this warm time of learning to read.
"My husband, what is this word?"
Chen Xiaoru pointed to a word in the book and asked curiously.
"This word is pronounced 'ai'." Song Zhe's voice was low, scratching Chen Xiaoru's heart like a feather.
"Love..." Chen Xiaoru repeated it, and her face suddenly turned red like a ripe apple.
She secretly raised her eyes to glance at Song Zhe, and met his pair of shiny black eyes. It seemed as if there were two balls of fire burning in them, as if they were going to burn her to ashes.
Chen Xiaoru's heart beat faster. She quickly lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously stroking the pages of the book.
Song Zhe looked at her shy appearance, his Adam's apple rolling up and down, and felt a hot current rushing up from his lower abdomen.
He couldn't bear it any longer, so he leaned forward, held Chen Xiaoru's face and kissed her gently.
Chen Xiaoru's body trembled slightly, but she did not refuse. Instead, she slowly closed her eyes and responded to his kiss.
This kiss was more passionate and lingering than the previous one. Song Zhe's hand gently stroked Chen Xiaoru's cheek. Her skin was smooth and delicate, making him unable to let go.
Chen Xiaoru also put her arms around Song Zhe's neck. Her heart was beating so fast that it seemed like it was about to jump out of her chest.
The two kissed passionately until Chen Xiaoru felt like she was about to suffocate, and Song Zhe finally let her go reluctantly. Chen Xiaoru gasped for breath, her chest rising and falling like a small bellows.
She secretly glanced at Song Zhe and found that he was staring at her intently, his eyes were even more frightening than before.
"Xiao Ru..." Song Zhe's voice was as hoarse as a broken gong. He felt like his whole body was burning and he wished he could rub her into his bones.
"Husband, it's getting late. Let's learn to read..." Chen Xiaoru stuttered, turning her head away, not daring to look at him.
Song Zhe took a deep breath, suppressed the anger in his heart, and gently brushed the hair scattered on her forehead behind her ears. His voice was so gentle that it could drip water: "Okay, I'll do as you say."
Meanwhile, just as Mother Song and Song Qingqing arrived at the tailor shop, they heard a familiar voice coming from behind them: "Qingqing, where are you going?"
Song Qingqing's eyes lit up, and she hopped over like a little rabbit, grabbed Cheng Rongrong's arm, and called out sweetly, "Sister Rongrong, why are you here too? Are you buying cloth to make new clothes?"
Cheng Rongrong's eyes first darted around Song Qingqing, then landed on Song's mother behind her, and she smiled sweetly, "Qingqing, why are you here?"
"I came here with my mother to get some cloth to make clothes!" Song Qingqing tilted her little head back, looking so proud.
"oh?"
Cheng Rongrong raised her eyebrows, thinking to herself: Isn't Song Zhe still too sick to get out of bed? How can he still have money to buy cloth for clothes? She walked calmly to Song's mother, bowed slightly, and said softly, "Auntie."
"Hey, it's Rongrong!"
Song's mother responded with a forced smile, and her eyes swept over her, like a small scale, weighing something.
"Aunt, is Song Zhe... feeling better?" Cheng Rongrong asked with concern, but her eyes were subtly observing Song's mother's expression.
"My elder brother can even jump on the ground now!" Song Qingqing rushed to say, raising her little chin, looking so proud.
Mother Song frowned, reached out and patted Song Qingqing's arm, and said unhappily, "You're so quick to talk!"
Song Qingqing stuck out her tongue mischievously, shrank her neck in grievance, and closed her mouth obediently.
Surprise flashed across Cheng Rongrong's face, but she quickly regained her composure. She smiled slightly and said softly, "Really? That's great! It seems like God has blessed Song Zhe, allowing him to turn danger into safety."
