The ward suddenly became quiet. No one spoke and the atmosphere was a little subtle until Liu Bing ran back panting with a lunch box, breaking the silence.
"Sister-in-law, there is nothing to eat in the cafeteria, so I just ordered something. You..." Liu Bing scratched the back of his head and handed the lunch box to Chen Xiaoru embarrassedly, with a hint of guilt on his face.
Chen Xiaoru took the lunch box, the corners of her mouth slightly raised, revealing a faint smile, "It's okay, just eat something casually, but thank you for making such a trip."
When Liu Bing heard Chen Xiaoru's thanks, he touched his head embarrassedly, smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, you're too polite. This is what I should do. You eat first. I'll go out and won't disturb you." After that, he ran out of the ward like a gust of wind, leaving Chen Xiaoru and Xiao Lang alone.
Chen Xiaoru opened the lunch box, which contained only simple rice and a few vegetables. She was not picky, so she picked up the chopsticks and began to eat slowly. After completing the discharge procedures, the two returned to the family quarters together.

Xiao Lang looked around and was surprised to find that everything in the house was in order, without any trace of the unpleasant smell he remembered.
Chen Xiaoru looked at his surprised expression and teased him with a smile, "Captain Xiao, what's wrong? Are you missing the taste of the past?"
Xiao Lang quickly shook his head, "No, it's fine now."
"Okay," Chen Xiaoru said, "Go to your room and rest for a while. I'll clean up."
Xiao Lang suddenly said, "Can't we sleep together? We are husband and wife!"
Chen Xiaoru raised her eyebrows and asked, "Didn't you say you would never sleep with me even if you died?"
Xiao Lang didn’t like the original owner before, and on the first day of arriving at the family compound, he said he wanted to sleep separately.
The original owner was furious and yelled, "I'm your wife, how can we sleep separately? I want to sleep with you!"
"Just think about it! I would never sleep with you even if I die." After saying that, Xiao Lang went to the army and has been sleeping in the army ever since.

Chen Xiaoru raised her eyebrows, said nothing, and just looked at him quietly, waiting for his next words.
Xiao Lang felt a little uneasy when she looked at him. He cleared his throat and continued, "I know you may not believe me immediately after I say this. After all, I have done so many excessive things before. But I am serious. I want to try to get along well with you and live like a real couple. Is that okay?"
Chen Xiaoru raised the corner of her mouth slightly, turned around, faced Xiao Lang, raised her eyes and stared at him, without saying a word, with a look of inquiry and amusement in her eyes.
Xiao Lang's heartbeat quickened when she looked at him, and his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously. He was eager to express his feelings, so he grabbed Chen Xiaoru's arm and pulled her close to him. His hot body pressed tightly against hers, and his voice was low and rapid:
"Xiao Ru, I'm telling the truth! I like you!"
"oh?"
Chen Xiaoru's voice rose slightly at the end, with a hint of teasing, "Why, you like me now that I'm pretty? Captain Xiao, you really are... superficial."
She deliberately emphasized the word "superficial", and a hint of cunning flashed in her eyes.
Xiao Lang's cheeks flushed slightly. He knew that his previous behavior was indeed inappropriate, but he was now really attracted to Chen Xiaoru, not only because of her appearance, but also because of her personality and her abilities.

"Sincerity?" Chen Xiaoru chuckled, broke free from his embrace, turned and walked to the kitchen door, held onto the door frame, and looked back at him, "Okay, then let me go first, I still have work to do. Go back to your room and rest first!"
Chen Xiaoru took the broom and started cleaning the house with quick movements.
With a "bang", Xiao Lang closed the door and obediently returned to his room.
He walked over to the bed and smoothed the quilt, but his mind was still wandering. He began to ponder why he had felt such disgust when Chen Xiaoru was fat, but now that she was thin, he loved her so much. There must be something he didn't know.
"Something's wrong, it's totally wrong." Xiao Lang muttered to himself.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt something was wrong, and a strong desire to explore surged in his heart.
"We must find out what is going on!" Xiao Lang made up his mind.
