She buried her head in his chest and cried silently.
"I'm sorry I'm late."
Chu Tianche's voice was low and self-blaming. He gently stroked Chen Xiaoru's hair, his eyes full of heartache and guilt.
"I don't blame you, Mr. Chu."
Chen Xiaoru shook her head, her voice choked with sobs, "It was because of my own carelessness that I was captured by that crazy woman Su Qing."
“Su Qing…”
Chu Tianche's eyes turned cold in an instant. He held Chen Xiaoru's hand tightly, and said with a hint of ruthlessness in his voice, "I won't let her go."
"Boss Chu, are you okay?"
Chen Xiaoru suddenly looked up, tears welling up in her eyes. She bit her lips tightly, her voice hoarse, with a sense of relief at surviving the disaster and a vulnerability that was difficult to conceal.
"It's okay. I'm fine."
Chu Tianche quickly reached out to wipe away the tears on her face, but when he touched her cold cheek, he paused, then gently held her face and gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes with his thumb.
"Xiao Ru, you...you are pregnant, almost two months!"
Chu Tianche stuttered as he spoke. He stared at Chen Xiaoru's belly, his voice trembling.
"This child... is... mine?" He looked at Chen Xiaoru without blinking, afraid that she would say "no".
"Boss Chu, I..."
Chen Xiaoru's eyes were evasive, she lowered her eyelids, at a loss.
Chu Tianche's heart was beating like a drum. He could no longer suppress his inner excitement. He leaned forward suddenly, held Chen Xiaoru's face with trembling hands, and forced her to look at him.
His eyes were fiery and deep, as if they wanted to suck her in completely. He stared into her eyes, his voice hoarse and urgent, every word seemed to be squeezed out from his chest:
"Xiao Ru, tell me, it's mine, right?"
Chen Xiaoru nodded gently, and said "hmm" in a whisper as soft as a mosquito.
"Xiaoru, thank you, thank you!"
Chu Tianche could no longer control his emotions. He hugged Chen Xiaoru tightly in his arms with such strength that it seemed as if he wanted to rub her into his bones and blood.
His voice was choked with joy and gratitude, and hot tears fell on Chen Xiaoru's neck, burning her skin.
Chen Xiaoru felt his body tremble slightly, and the softest part of her heart was gently touched. She raised her hand, gently patted his back, and comforted him gently.
"Um... Mr. Chu, I... I'm hungry..."
Chen Xiaoru's voice was as thin as a mosquito, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes were evasive, not daring to look at him.
"Hungry?"
A deep voice sounded in my ears, with a hint of imperceptible tenderness.
Chen Xiaoru felt her face getting even hotter, and she nodded gently, timidly.
"Wait a minute, I'll ask someone to bring some food over."
Chu Tianche let go of her, turned around, picked up his phone, dialed a number, and whispered a few instructions.
