Chapter 80 The Secretary of the CEO of the Extinct Family 38

After dinner, Chu Tianche kept his promise and took Chen Xiaoru to visit the villa. They walked through every room, from the spacious living room to the well-equipped kitchen, from the comfortable bedroom to the bright bathroom, every corner was full of the breath of life.

"This is our room." Chu Tianche's low voice sounded in Chen Xiaoru's ears. He pointed to the bedroom in front of them. This was the room Chen Xiaoru had woken up in before.

"Our room?" Chen Xiaoru's voice was filled with surprise and uncertainty. "We...don't sleep separately? After all, we..."

Chu Tianche didn't say anything, but silently opened the bedroom door and turned on the light. The soft light instantly filled the entire room. He took Chen Xiaoru's hand and pulled her into the room.

Chen Xiaoru's eyes swept across the room. When she woke up earlier, she was still in a daze and didn't have time to take a good look at her surroundings.

Now taking a closer look, this room is very large, and its decoration style is consistent with the overall style of the villa, simple yet stylish.

A king-size bed occupies the center of the room. The bedding is a low-key dark gray, which looks very comfortable.

"Do you like it?" Chu Tianche gently hugged her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder, and asked softly in her ear with a gentle smile in his voice.

Chen Xiaoru felt herself surrounded by his warm breath, her heartbeat slightly quickened. She turned her head and whispered, "It looks okay."

"Is it just okay?" Chu Tianche's tone was filled with a hint of disappointment and a subtle sense of grievance. "I've been decorating our room very carefully."

"I..." Chen Xiaoru was a little flustered. She didn't expect Chu Tianche to care so much about her opinion. "That's not what I meant. I just..."

"Just what?" Chu Tianche asked, and he used a little force to hug her tighter.

"It's just..." Chen Xiaoru bit her lip and mustered up the courage to say, "I just feel... it's a little too big. I might be scared if I sleep alone."

"Silly boy," Chu Tianche chuckled, his voice full of doting, "Don't I still have you? I'll accompany you. Besides, this is my room too."

Chen Xiaoru felt that if she continued this topic, she might not be able to handle it, so she quickly changed the subject: "Um... I want to take a shower. I've been staying in the hospital for so long, and I always feel like I have a smell of disinfectant on my body. It's unpleasant."

"Okay, you go wash up. I'll go to the study to take care of some things and come over to accompany you in a while." Chu Tianche said considerately.

"Well, okay, go ahead and get busy!" Chen Xiaoru said, then turned and walked towards the bathroom. Her steps were faster than usual, as if she was avoiding something.

The bathroom was filled with hot steam.

Chen Xiaoru stood under the shower, letting the warm water wash over her body and also wash away her chaotic thoughts.

She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself.

However, the little things that happened during the past few days with Chu Tianche emerged unconsciously in my mind.

His gentle eyes, soft whispers, and the care he showed inadvertently were like stones, causing ripples in the calm lake of her heart.

"What's wrong with me..."

She murmured to herself, scooped up a pool of clear water and gently splashed it on her face.

The water droplets slid down her cheeks, taking away some of the heat, but they could not take away the throbbing in her heart.

After taking a shower, Chen Xiaoru lay on the bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

She called out softly in her heart: "System, system, come out and chat with me."

"Here I am, host. What's the matter?" The system appeared in response.

"It's okay, I just have a little insomnia. You said I beat Chu's mother in the afternoon. Does she hate me to death? Is she racking her brains to find a way to deal with me now?" There was a hint of worry in Chen Xiaoru's voice.

"Let me see." The system paused, then said, "Host, Chu's mother is sitting quietly on the sofa, not saying a word. I don't know what she is thinking."

"It shouldn't be like this. With Chu's mother's personality, she shouldn't react like this! Isn't she usually noisy? Why is she so quiet today?" Chen Xiaoru said puzzledly.

"Then I don't know." The system replied.

"Forget it, it's normal that you don't know. How can you possibly understand women? A woman's heart is like a needle in the sea. How can a system like you understand it?" Chen Xiaoru muttered to herself, a hint of helplessness in her voice. "I'd better go to sleep!"

After a busy day at work, Chu Tianche returned to the bedroom and saw Chen Xiaoru already fast asleep.

He walked over to her lightly, placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, and then turned and went into the bathroom.

After washing up, he gently lay down beside Chen Xiaoru and held her in his arms.

The faint fragrance of her body lingered on his nose, and Chu Tianche felt at ease.

During this period, because he slept in Chen Xiaoru's arms every night, his sleep quality improved significantly, and his mental state also improved a lot.

He closed his eyes contentedly, feeling the warmth of the person in his arms, and soon fell asleep.

The next day, when Chen Xiaoru woke up, Chu Tianche had already gone to the company. After all, as the president of a huge group, he couldn't always be with her. Chen Xiaoru packed up and went downstairs to get something to eat, but she saw Chu's mother sitting on the sofa in the villa.

She murmured in her heart: Why is she here?

Chen Xiaoru walked up to Chu's mother and asked unhappily, "What are you doing here?"

"Nothing!" Chu's mother said lightly.

"Nothing! Then why are you here?" Chen Xiaoru's voice unconsciously rose a few degrees.
