Chapter 122 Running Wild on the Ship

Shen Xingzhi sat on the sofa and cried.

Yu Wenhao squatted to the side, at a loss for what to do.

Rong Yan and Fu Jingsheng each took one away.

Fu Jingsheng offered random advice.

Rong Yan comforted Shen Xingzhi for a long time. After her best friend calmed down, she dragged Fu Jingsheng back.

Fu Jingsheng knew he had done something wrong with good intentions, so he stood in the living room waiting for his wife's criticism.

"Looks like you know you were wrong. I won't say anything more to you. Just don't give me any more bad advice. It's all so chaotic these days. I've managed to talk Xingzhi out of it, but now she can't sleep at all." Rong Yan said, her head drooping.

"You don't blame me?" Fu Jingsheng sat down. "I can't sleep either, how about a drink?"

“Okay.” Rong Yan brought out the Silent Ship, and Fu Jingsheng prepared the cups.

Unexpectedly, after two drinks, Rong Yan grabbed Fu Jingsheng by the collar and headed towards the suite's swimming pool.

The woman jumped in, wearing her pajamas.

"Fu Jingsheng, come here."

Fearing his wife might drown, Fu Jingsheng followed her into the water.

After splashing around in the pool for a while, Rong Yan walked out of the room.

It finally stopped on the third-floor deck.

Fu Jingsheng hugged and coaxed her until Rong Yan finally fell asleep in the middle of the night.

The woman slept until noon the next day.

I could smell the fragrance even before I opened my eyes.

Fu Jingsheng brought in lunch and waited quietly for Rong Yan to wake up.

The woman wrinkled her nose with her eyes closed: "It smells so good."

Hearing the voice, Fu Jingsheng looked up: "Awake?"

Rong Yan's eyelashes fluttered, and she pressed her temples as she sat up.

"Hey, are you?" Fu Jingsheng picked up the bowl. "Have a bowl of soup to warm your stomach first, then open your mouth."

"Did I talk nonsense after drinking last night? Accusing you of treating me badly?" Rong Yan looked at the attentive Fu Jingsheng. Although the man had indeed been good to her during this period, bringing food to the bedside and feeding her was a bit too much.

"No, you were very well-behaved after drinking yesterday, you went straight to sleep," Fu Jingsheng lied.

"Really? My drinking manners have improved?" Rong Yan raised her eyebrows. "No wonder you're so nice to me, it turns out it's because you haven't caused any trouble. I'll eat."

Rong Yan opened her mouth.

Before she had even finished her bowl of soup, Shen Xingzhi sent her a video.

In the video, Rong Yan was acting wildly on the deck, and Fu Jingsheng hugged and coaxed her, keeping her company for an hour.

She actually grabbed a stool and shouted "Sworn Brotherhood!" Fu Jingsheng couldn't pull her away.

This is utterly shameful and disgraceful.

"And this isn't even a drunken outburst? Why didn't you stop him?"

"I couldn't stop you. You cried in your room, jumped into the pool, danced, and bit me if I didn't let you out." Fu Jingsheng added fuel to the fire.

Rong Yan was stunned. No wonder Shen Xingzhi didn't come over this morning; she knew Shen Xingzhi had drunk too much last night and couldn't get up this morning.

But who was so bored as to film her embarrassing behavior and record it? How will she be able to live on the boat for the next few days?

Rong Yan wears sunglasses and a hat every time she goes out, looking like a thief.

The six-day trip has finally come to an end.

As soon as she disembarked, Rong Yan took a deep breath of the air from Tiancheng and muttered to herself, "The Angel is gone forever."

Han Yue was picking up her daughter-in-law at the dock when she heard her muttering, "Why are we never seeing each other again? Didn't you have fun?"

"Mom, what brings you here?" Rong Yan was startled.

“Jing Sheng said you’d arrive at this time, and I happened to be home, so I came. Come here with Mom, did he bully you?” Han Yue pulled Rong Yan’s hand and walked her aside to ask.

"No, I'm on the boat every day, nothing beats having my feet on the ground." Rong Yan didn't want her mother-in-law to know about her sworn brotherhood with the chair.

Han Yue was skeptical: "If he's going to bully you, tell me."

Rong Yan took her mother-in-law's arm and smiled apologetically, "Really, no, Mom, let's go home."

Fu Jingsheng heard his mother's words.

"Mom, you don't trust your son at all. It's always Rong Yan who bullies me."

With her son's assurance, Han Yue finally believed him.

At Yushui Bay, Xu Nan sits in a wheelchair, basking in the sun.

"Mom." Rong Yan saw her adoptive mother, put down her suitcase, and ran over.

Xu Nan's lips moved slightly.

“Mom, if you can’t talk, then don’t. I’ll tell you some interesting things that happened on the ship.” Rong Yan leaned her head on Xu Nan’s arm.

That evening, Xu Nan took off her oxygen mask and talked a lot.

Rong Yan had a bad feeling.

After taking her adoptive mother back to her room that evening, Rong Yan did not go to the new house.

She and Fu Jingsheng remained seated in the living room, occasionally going in to check on Xu Nan.

As dawn approached, Xu Nan suddenly sat up and called out to Rong Yan a few times. She sat down beside her mother's bed and helped her sit up.

"Xiao Yan." After calling a few times, Xu Nan leaned on Rong Yan's shoulder, her hand hanging down.

I felt my mother's body slowly getting cold.

“Mom!” she cried out.

Fu Jingsheng held the woman, letting him vent his anger.

A few days later, Xu Nan was buried. After seeing her adoptive mother off on her final journey, Rong Yan locked herself in her room.

Han Yue felt heartbroken; she understood the feeling of losing a loved one and couldn't possibly accept it all at once.

She walked over to her daughter-in-law and said, "Child, I know it's impossible for you to come to your senses so easily. How about I talk to you about Jing Sheng's father?"

Rong Yan hugged her pillow and nestled on the sofa. She wiped her eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't want you to worry, but I'm really sad."

Han Yue held her daughter-in-law's hand: "I understand, so I won't try to persuade you to be strong."

"Thank you, Mom."

Rong Yan had heard Fu Jingsheng say that her father-in-law and mother-in-law had a very good relationship when he was alive, so she never dared to mention her father-in-law in front of her mother-in-law.

But Han Yue brought it up today.

There was no sadness on her face, but rather a smile. She told Rong Yan that she cried every day during that period, lost more than ten kilograms in a month, and wouldn't listen to anything anyone said.

She locked herself in her room every day, looking at her husband's photos, until one day she came across a video that her husband had left behind before his death. He had actually recorded a video in advance saying what if he were to pass away first one day.

In the video, he called Han Yue "old lady." He probably didn't expect that Han Yue would be so young when he passed away. He didn't say anything sentimental, but just told jokes for ten minutes. Han Yue told those jokes to Rong Yan.

Rong Yan was crying and laughing at the same time.

"Mom, I'm hungry." Rong Yan finally came out of the room.

Fu Jingsheng had been waiting outside the door. When he saw his wife come out, he smiled and said, "Are you hungry? The food has been kept warm. You don't need to come downstairs. I've brought it to the living room on the second floor."

"Mmm." Rong Yan hugged her husband tightly.

——

A few days later, the maid cleaned the room in front of Xu Nan and found a letter.

She gave it to Rong Yan.

The yellowed envelope looked old. Rong Yan opened it and found a photo inside: Xu Nan and a little boy. On the back of the photo were two lines of blurry text, and the word "Mom" could be vaguely seen.

Rong Yan called Fu Jingsheng over.

"I'm sorry, I'm too ashamed to face you even when I die. Are you alright?" Fu Jingsheng read out each word carefully.

The two looked at each other in bewilderment.

"Does Madam Xu have a biological son?"

Rong Yan was completely unaware of this. She had only heard Xu Nan mention that she had been married before, that her ex-husband had cheated on her and was abusive, and that she had later fled the city.

"Where does Xu's mother live?" Fu Jingsheng asked.

Rong Yan tried hard to recall.
